what was the first graphics card you owned in your country? mine was the 9700 pro
>>221409976I never owned graphics card I have a laptop
Geforce 560
>>221409976this one
>>221409976GeForce 6800 Ultra. Still have it somewhere. Funny to think about the fact that it's older than many posters here. I bought it on release day.
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LEIt was actually fairly capable but 512MB of RAM was toaster-tier already and my processor wasn't the greatest. I was 14 in 2006, I didn't know anything about PC specs.I spent most of my free time flaming anyone and everyone who put their PC specs in their forum signatures because they were faggots.
>>221410645how much was it?
i LOVE data mining thread!
>>221409976A 3070 laptop gpu. I still have it because I bought it 3 years (Holy shit i just checked) ago
>>221411655>ONCE WE KNOW ANON'S FIRST GPU, FINDING THE REST OF HIS PERSONAL DATA AND HIS TERRORIST PLANS IS CHILD'S PLAY!
>>221409976An NVIDIA 7200GS, it was awful.
>>221411757It really is
>>221411315If I remember correctly it was 5299 SEK or around 500-ish USD back in 2004 but since it was "the big one" when it comes to GPU's back then they offered a ton of "buy this and get this for xxx price" offers. I got a Antec Performance One Series P160 case with mine (was a pretty baller case back then).
>>221411841>this SICK BASTARD had a GTX 270 as his first GPU! OBVIOUSLY a child predator and racketteer, send in the boys!
>>221409976I am very sad that i don't remember our first pc's gpu, but the it was a 2004 NEC computer. The first gpu i do know the name of is the gt210
>>221409976i think i had a geforce2 but i honestly cant remember for certain my dad handled that stuff. first card i actually plugged in on my own and remember for certain was a geforce 7600GT
>>221412087Found some pics of the case. Good old days, this was top of the line for gaming PCs back then. Largest front air vents in the business at that point. With air filter! Kek.
>>221412333Would make a cool stealth build these days. Would need to open more aiways for anything more thermally intensive tho.
>>221412427I've been thinking about doing something like that. Could easily mod it with hidden air vents and use a smaller AIO. Biggest issue would be the GPU, not many modern ones would fit in the old cases without serious gutting.
>>221412499there are modern special one fan gpus, check the Zotac RTX 5060 SOLO
>>221412655>5060
>>221412679it's the best value gpu today, something you would look for especially if it's a second build
>>221412734Best value today is easily the 16GB RX 9060 XT. But the point (for me at least) of a sleeper build is high performance in an old/boring case. Something that looks old and slow but is actually a beast.
Apparently the Voodoo 5 was much better than ATI and Nvidia in the late 90s, with more lush and more colored graphics thanks to its FSAA techniqueSad that no hardware today can emulate and render 90s games properly nowadays
vodoo 3dfx
served me for nigh on 10 years
>>221411757at least birthyear can be semi-determinedalso data-mining is not for doxxing you fking you movies-educated individual
>>221409976I've only ever bought pre-built PCs. I think my first graphics card was a GTX 1060.
>>221411655Threads like these are fun. Fuck you
>>221409976I don't know what it was to be honest. I was already an adult and wanted a gaming pc so I did the ultimate retard thing and bought one of those "refurbished" office computers online. Think it was a Optiplex or something similar that the seller had just stuck some cheap graphics card and some RGB in back in 2014. Was absolute garbage, could barely run Minecraft so it ended up turning into a HTPC until the PSU exploded while I was watching some Marvel slop movie. First real GPU that I bought on purpose was a 1080 Ti in 2018.
>>221409976lol I honestly think it was that one. before that I had pc's but they were likely integrated graphics. the 9700 pro came with this dell prebuilt my family bought in 2002 and it was like walking into the future
>>221414126lolwhy did you do the ultimate retard thing? you must've known what hardware you needed. and are you still using the 1080ti?
>>221414525I knew nothing about computers. I was a console pleb up until then and my only experience with computers was my laptop from uni which couldn't even play full hd videos without dying. I literally opened google, typed "cheap gaming pc" or some shit and that was one of the first results. I read the description and took the bait completely.
>>221414525And no, I'm on my 4th rig now. >Ryzen 7 9850X3D>RX 9070 XT >64GB DDR5 Etc. My nephew has my old 1080ti now in his Fortnite rig.
>>221414755that's an awesome rig. what do you play on it?
>>221415215Currently? Just finished Resident Evil Requiem and started on Will: Follow The Light.
>>221409976holy shit y'all uncs I never seen that shit in my life
4870 hd > r9 270 > rx 570 > 9060 XT. went with AMD throughout because it was cheaper
voodoo 2
>>221413232Hardly. My "first" GPU was GTX 1650 and good luck determining my age simply from that. You'd have to know my general history with computers and if you have that, you don't need to data collect.
>>221414668Can sympathize. My first proper desktop PC I bought myself was an OEM I bought after getting fed up of shitty laptops. Bitch to upgrade, but it has functioned without trouble for years now. I still use it more than my "main" gaming PC with a slightly more modern hardware, even when the two live on top of each others and are wired to same monitors.
>>221412333VGH>>221414755Doesn't that much RAM cost thousands of USD now?
>>221412799Modern "slow" would still be a gaming beast with all but the most demanding games.
>>221416139>Doesn't that much RAM cost thousands of USD now?Yeah, 64GB will cost you about a grand today for the cheapest kits. Never thought one of the cheapest parts of a PC build would turn into one of the most expensive. I paid under 100 bucks for 64GB of DDR4 on my previous build..
>>221416270>paid like 40 euros for a new 16GB kit of DDR4 and felt ripped offHow the times have changed.
>>221409976MSI R9 270X 4GB I think the graphics card crapped under a year. I RMA'd it and got a new version of the graphics card from MSI. Sold that GPU and switched to NVIDIA. I've had the worst luck with MSI products so I just avoid anything made by MSI. The final straw was an overpriced 1440p curved monitor I purchased that was from MSI.
>>221416427>The final straw was an overpriced 1440p curved monitor I purchased that was from MSI.I forgot to mention the display started having issues within a year or two. The monitor had to get warmed up for 10 minutes before I could see a full image.
>>221416494>The monitor had to get warmed up for 10 minutes before I could see a full imagelol
>>2214099764870 HD
>>221417426I can't make head or tails of AMD Radeon's GPUnaming scheme. They get it in some order for a few generations and then make up something completely different.
