Wasnt this anyone but boomers protesting because boomer pensions would take a cut for the sake of non-boomers? Im still confused about this.

The gov wanted to tax oil more for climate change
>>
>>221474798
Oh my mistake. I thought it was about boomer pensions.
>>
I don't have car anymore because you have to be a wealthy boomer to own a car.
>The car is expensive to buy.
>The oil is expensive, even before the war in Iran.
>Insurance costs a fortune.
>Parking is expensive.
>You get more and more fines because the State looks for money.
>Maintenance is expensive.
>Then Abdel smashes up your car.

>for climate change
It's the excuse.
It’s easier to say it's for climate change than to admit the government can’t manage a budget because it wastes money everywhere: giving billions to Zelensky, paying for a tenth breakfast for Gros Lardcher, and hiring more civil servants whose job is basically making Excel spreadsheets about other Excel spreadsheets without any value.
>>
>>221474515
Wasn't the government basically trying to do something to make it more expensive?
Meanwhile this time is due to Trump being dumb.
>>
>>221474515
The 2018 Cost of Living crisis started abroad on the departments before the same pressures started manifesting in France. There were also people protesting in unison with the protests abroad too.
>>
they don't give a shit about protests anymore.

More like people generally lashing out against Macron's unwanted presidency in general, even tho fuel cost were a key rally point.
Keep in mind that Macron is a political oddity recent history. His rise to power essentially being a deep State operation that will be remembered for ages. Some unknown, unexperienced, and relatively disliked guy from one of the worst failing governments of the last decades suddenly gets massive unprecedented levels of business and media backing while much of the two largest parties in the country merge to support him. He never had a real popular base besides boomers to whom he promised giant pensions and muh stability (stability so that their cherished huge pensions could be maintained). Back in 2018 many working age people of all political leanings felt like Macron was somewhat illegitimate and thus took out their anger. Macron finally lost his support among boomers after 2022 went it became evident that he's extremely incompetent and everything he tried was a massive failure. He used to be way more arrogant in his retardation during his first term because he still had boomer support and there was such overwhelming evidence of his administration being a disaster. He's more quiet now and most people just wait for him to fuck off in 2027.

Iirc, the 2018 situation was an arbitrary tax hike by the frog government, because muh environment. The present day situation is caused by an external war that frogs have no involvement other than opposing it. Since the ones waging the war are relevant countries, and France is not, there’s nothing they can do. Protesting will do fuck all.
