white millennials are so afraid of AI
>>
I couldn't care less
>>
>>221480200
I'll bite
Why is AI "good"?
>in4 it makes silly porn images and writes my homework or something
>>
AI is good when it's free to use but bad when you have to pay
>>
I wonder if it's learned helplessness from being brainwashed or conformism but i find it off that most people just roll with AI, big corpos data mining, pollution, overuse of pesticides, deforestation, police states...
It seems that most dont even "whine" irl or online anymore but i find it hard to believe any random person from the street doesn't experience psychosis and guilt every day for being a useless wimp
In an ideal world americans can just tear down AI data centers and save the rest of us the hassle, if you dont like it this much
Reminder if you get raped and dont struggle, that is consent. If someone builds a house besides yours and suddenly it looks like an art deco miniature with him building a floor above your house and you dont budge or wait for some "authority" to save you, you're consenting
>>
>>221480671
zoomers love AI because it's easier to make meme with it
>>
>>221480517
Same reason why a search engine is good. It's a search engine that can predict speech. People used to talk about autocorrect like it was going to melt the minds of kids and they'll forget how to spell.
>>
>>221482205
And they were right, seeing how most people can't spell these days.
>>
>>221480200
I am a millennial and I play with AI
>>
>>221482219
>these days
>>
Yeah we grew with those things called books and teachers
>>
>>221482205
this AI crap is far darker and more far-reaching than just the LLM's and stable-diffusion models we mess around with, the powers that be has without a doubt created far more complex models and you bet your ass these are going to be used to power necropolitical mass-surveillance systems and autonomous weapons.
prominent scientists are "disappearing" left and right, farmers are being targeted in various ways world-wide, data centers consuming gigawatts of energy and millions of liters of waters are popping up everywhere and the only explanation is
>AI will solve everything dude, you don't want THEM to get it before us do you?
>>
redditors are fuming 24/7 about data centers
>>
>>221480200
I have aislop fatigue, I hate seeing it everywhere in that horrible ai artstyle, kill ai prompters in real life.
>>
>>221483377
You should do so as well
>>
>>221480671
True
>>
>>221482219
They never could
>>
>>221483402
nigga I live in a deindustrialized city that's slowly dying, who cares if they build a data center in the industrial area, the city needs the revenue

People are just really lazy with those things, you can do all sorts of styles with them but yeah usually I just see people describe a thing they want but no style modifiers
>>
>>221483401
AI texts bother me the most
>>221483449
Peak unitedstatian post
>>
>>221483449
Data centers dont really create a lot of jobs.
>>
>>221483472
it has nothing to do about jobs, it's about tax income for the city so that they can keep providing services
>>
Retards are upset over consoomer AI, which exists only to appease the investors but is otherwise barely a footnote in this industry. Normtards cry over AI generated videos and 'art' as if their consumption habits or 'boycotts' of these gimmicks really matter to the industry. The true use case of AI is industrial automation. Less employees managing more resources and being more efficient. This is affecting the code monkeys the most, ironically, coz their job is the easiest to automate. But it's also happening in advanced manufacturing, construction, defense, research, service, hospitality, and literally every other niche industry you can think of. Less employees being more efficient means more revenue and profit margins for the company. And there's no argument to stop or regulate because free market. But keep bawling over AI generated slop like your voice matters
>>
>>221483329
Economic nationalism was always a Reaganite tactic to brute force the implementation of technology when there's no demand. The Internet never would have left DARPA or privatized if it wasn't for SDI and constant panics over foreign competition. If you made me choose between John Stuart Mill-esque representative government and AI Trotskyism I'd take AI. Politics has been reduced to pro-wrestling banter and officials that will ignore public demands due to emergencies, they're all part of the same clubs, frats, and thinktanks anyway. The only benefit to bureaucracy is the fact that you can intimidate them but even still most people are retarded and would end up fighting over how to administrate anyway. If tyranny is inevitable then it should at least be impersonal rather than some creepy parent state looming over you.
>>
>>221480200
I'm afraid of it too and so should you.
The main companies behind it want to achieve "General Artificial Intelligence", defined as being "any task a human could do, the AI could do better". They also routinely and genuinely believe that such intelligence could likely take over and kill everyone, and yet they keep at it.
They are actively working towards a goal they believe could kill everything, the companies are death cults, they are lunatics trying to trigger an apocalypse and they must be stopped.
Even if they manage to tame AGI to never kill them, who is to say they won't use it to kill everyone else?
>unc is afraid of chatGPT Geeeeg
I know chatGPT isn't AGI zoomzoom, I know the image generators don't pose a threat to humanity. It's not about what they have achieved thus far, it's about what they have as an end goal.
>>
>>221483669
I wonder how many management jobs could be easily replaced with ai
>>
>>221483674
>If tyranny is inevitable then it should at least be impersonal rather than some creepy parent state looming over you.
It'll be the state regardless

The state is going to get more powerful, not less because of technology
>>
>>221483711
Already happened at my company. There's no managers left. Only VPs (who are glorified managers anyway). And my company is a manufacturing one not a code monkey one. Code monkeys these days don't write a single line of code. SDEs are now product owners instead of grunt work slaves
>>
>>221482205
AI isn't a Markov chain, you're retarded,
>>221483329
AI isn't taking any water that needs to be anywhere else, nor were server banks invented for it, nor did data aggregation and fingerprinting begin or even reach prominence with AI. You're a schizophrenic with a victim complex about something which doesn't persecute you in any way.
>>221483674
There is obvious extremely high demand as adoption rates have already demonstrated. You're just a contrarian faggot who is somehow insecure about machines processing data better.

I'm a code monkey and I still manually write code both professionally and on my free time because I enjoy the craft
>>
>>221483774
At my company we once stayed 4 months without a manager and things worked normally. Back then I already thought that maybe my manager was useless
>>221483833
Rip
>>
>>221483833
Why waste your time scripting? As long as you know the architecture of your code, there's no point in writing it manually. There's no difference between machine written code and human written code because of its objectivity
>>
>>221480200
But they are the ones developing it
>>
>>221480200
what about brown millennials such as myself my good sir
>>
>>221483744
With AI communism is now possible comrade.
>>

>it was going to melt the minds of kids and they'll forget how to spell.
It did.
>>
>>221483530
They're tax exempting the DCs for a LONG time, tax revenue that will never be regained, mind you.

im not white and i hate the bubble not the tech
its nice tech i like uaing it but trillions went into this and now its being forced everywhere to try and make any use of that wasted money
its not worth those trillions at all nor the absurd power demand
>>
>>221480671
there is no third space anymore to consolidate any kind of consensus or power
the only thing that make things happen in that scenario, is people with the divine or x factor
>>
The tech is fucking dogshit though, just because you're stupid doesn't mean the slop it shits out is accurate or high quality.
It isn't good enough, and isn't getting good enough either.
>>
>>221483828
>You're a schizophrenic with a victim complex about something which doesn't persecute you in any way.
It doesn't persecute because the systems in question are still under construction, look at the track record of the companies and agencies pushing for all this, how is it paranoia when the modus operandi has always been to move in, take everything of value, eliminate anyone who opposes, leave the area a toxic mess and then move on?
>>
i dont use it
it doesnt do anything i cant do better in my everyday life
>>
>>221480200
I'm pretty chill desu. So far it improved my life quality by reducing hard work.
Maybe I get fired tomorrow but I'll do something else.
>>
>>221485077
Sometimes it's enough if it's just faster. The strangest thing I've seen is when people were upset that some commercial was generated with slop tools, like who cares if some Coca Cola ad was handcrafted my a marketing artisan, it's just some dumb 3D animated santa. I can understand if it's something else and it's particularly low quality, like a lot of times weird anatomical glitches still sneak in
>>
>>221483449
>who cares if they build a data center in the industrial area
Enjoy your constant nausea
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bP80DEAbuo
>>
>>221483449
Ohio just gave billions in tax breaks to a data center with 10 employees.
>>
>>221480200
i thought their only job was spending all of their savings at disney land
>>
>>221484013
Then why are the chuds the ones shilling for AI?
>>
Seething about AI is the biggest form of pearl clutching recently. Outs the normgroid midwits who have never opened a history book in their life
>>221483953
So why don’t they just le stop?
>>
>>221483929
I enjoy the process, I find it calming and meditative. I know I could offload a bunch of the boilerplate to the LLMs and rhen just write the most fun things myself but I dunno, I think that would make me lazy and impatient eventually.
Professionally I just write some java bullshit and all but on my free time I like using less popular languages (like Ada, Ocaml, the Lisps etc) just for the sake of using them and I have found rhe LLMs ro be extremely unreliable when it comes to those, it will often get things wrong and mix up stuff from other, more popular languages
>>
>>221480200
makes you wonder why brown people immediately jumped on something that makes shitty authors and shitty artists look better than they really are
>>
Schizos

Artslop artists angry at something outperforming them

Censorship maniacs who dislike people having fun.
>>
>>221484738
that's misleading, the cities aren't dumb, they won't let data centers be built with nothing in return
>"For data centers, officials came up with a deal framework that requires the companies to make minimum annual payments — in exchange for partial property-tax abatement. Basically, the city expects to get as much money from a data center as it would from income taxes generated by a brand-new office building or a modern manufacturing facility."
https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/ohios-data-center-boom-really-started-in-new-albany-we-went-there-to-see-what-it-looks-like
>>
>>221480200
>*ai does somethig basic*
>wooow this will change the world
such a simple mind you have
>>
>>221480200
Everyone should be worried. The pace of development is very fast now and it may be that within 5 years a majority of people will either become unnecessary or only useful for complete slave work.
>>
>>221482205
It did.
>>
>>221485020
part of me suspects that goys like us only get to use the nerfed versions while they're keeping the good stuff for themselves
>>
>>221492251
Yes, but brand-new office buildings and factories employ hundreds of people from the local communityand beyond. Data centers don't.
>>
>>221483449
>the city needs the revenue
the city isn't going to get revenue from the data centre, americakun
there's shady organisations made specifically to fast-track their development for socio-military industrial complex purposes

believe it or not, but we are sort of in the opening stages of world war three (if the principles of current generation warfare are accurate) right now and these data centres are almost as important as factories that actually build weapons
>>
>>221492907
Whatever you say bruce, good luck fighting off the chinese army while I enjoy my AI porn
