Why do we use English to communicate internationally? We should use a neutral language like Esperanto instead.

"Wend your way" is an old equivalent of "make your way" and even now rivers are said to "wend their course" or you can "wend your way down a river", it sort of has come to imply a winding/indirect route but it still means to travel.
