A PC might even turn on in the middle of the night to install updates, or forcibly install updates when you try to turn it off. That's frustrating if you use a laptop for work/study and have a bus to catch.As for Linux it's very unfortunate that the big well known distros are super bloated defaulting to the Gnome desktop environment. The often spouting benefit of Linux is that it can bring life to an old PC, but if you expect that from Ubuntu you'll be greatly disappointed.

I tried it back in 2015 and it was garbage. I am on it again after 11 years because windows 10 is no longer supported and it's still garbage. GIMP still sucks, games perform like shit, photoshop? lolAt least it has blender.but maybe I will to use this piece of shit software after a year of using it. I dont plan on moving to windows 11 anytime soon.

I haven't used Linux since 2011, or whenever Arch switched to systemd. I just use OpenBSD now. I really dislike configuration and computers in general. There is nothing fun and cute about swapping out components and tweaking settings. I just want a Unix prompt that does what I tell it to. There's nothing good about Unix either, but at least it's familiar. IMC I am regarded as queer.

>>221486541I use Linux for work I was given a MacOS but it's clunky so I asked to stay on Linux I use Omarchy and almost don't tinker at all, and when I do need some small fixes then I just use AI (Claude code) to do itI tinkered enough in my day to know what does what and how everything works So now I just want the least amount of friction in my setup and Omarchy was almost complete out of the box for me
I hate Linux fags they're annoying as fuck. Though I do have a low end PC from 2010 that still works so maybe I'll install Linux on it since Windows 10 was too demanding for it, so tinkering with that could be a fun side hobby i guess. I cannot understand the people who actually use this shit every day thoughever
