>>221499916I'm not sure if this is even true, 4chan used to be dominated by anime NEET culture, people actually wanted to be unemployed and get neetbux, and there were memes about becoming a "wizard" and forever alone and so on. It feels more realistic and normie nowadays, so I think most of those people gradually left as they aged and a smaller number of young people replaced them, making things slower but somewhat more grounded (outside of schizos in places like /pol/ and /x/)
