sophomore year of high school. any attempt to bring it up in classes was shot down. I guess they sent out a memo to every teacher to not acknowledge what was happening. they continued with the curriculum as if nothing was going on. really weird

>>221498813>anon and his family
I was 15 and in school when I heard about it. We got a week off because my school was being used as a shelter for stranded American travelers who's planes were forced to land in my city when US airspace was closed.

>>221497968In school. I heard a kid in the hallway say a plane hit the WTC and didn't think much of it. An hour later my gym teacher said the second plane hit. They set up TVs jn the library so kids could watch the news and I got in just in time to see the first tower collapse. I didn't even understand what I was seeing at first. We got the next day off school. By the end of classes everyone was scared and angry and throwing around Pearl Harbor comparisons.
My teacher for the afternoon class kept being interrupted by her colleagues coming into the room and whispering into her ear. My mum picked me up and she looked worried. Went home and saw the first tower collapse before mum took all us kids away from the TV. Though later we saw the news report at 6pm which had the harrowing roaring sound of the South Toiwer collapsing which I still remember

>>221497968Probably in some middle school class. I think one of the teachers may have turn on the tv to see the news. I remember one of my younger sister got really scared since her teacher made it a big deal in front of little kids that didnt know how to process that sort of information. I think she would have been either 1st or 2nd grade.

>>221497968I woke up, saw a light on, climbed out of my bunkbed and found my dad leaning in to watch the little TV he kept in his study. I asked what was wrong and he just told me there was an accident in America, so I should go to bed. When next I woke up, there were no cartoons and my mum just turned off the TV. My teachers said nothing, but a friend's older brother told us that Iran flew planes into major cities and millions were dead, so we spent the rest of the day terrified that the two-story houses near the end of the street would be a target. Finding out it was just one city in a different country was a huge relief.
