My mom died when I was a kid and my dad never remarried. Im pretty confident if my dad died instead my mom wouldve remarried.
My grandpa his wife died 30 years ago and when he fell and was bleeding out, and rushed to the hospital, he said that he can finally go to his wife. He stayed alone for nearly 30 years. Worse is he abused her sometimes and when she was hospitalized before she died he cried and couldn't forgive himself for treating her like shit.
