When I was in school, we ate three meals a day. Sometimes we’d get fruit for dessert after lunch, and maybe twice a year we’d get chocolate. The school had a vegetable garden that students helped take care of, and we’d sometimes eat vegetables from it. It looked pretty much exactly like picrel, except everything was served on glass plates

We got small milk cartons courtesy of Big Norwegian Dairy. Everyone packed their own lunches at home and brought them to school.

Looking back, they were pretty dismal (nutritionally) but tasty; pizza, donuts, ice cream, cookies, burritos etc. My middle school had some sort of deal with Subway and they sold smaller sandwiches there. idk, I either got the Subway sandwich or starved
