Our dictatorship loved brutalism and formalism in government buildings and monuments, and funcionalism for public housing (since it's cheaper). Those are trends they ironically picked up from the social-democrats that ruled before them.

You don't. I remember when living in the UK I left Southhampton train station and saw pic rel. It was bleak. Imagine living in such a place while also being cloudy and grey 2/3rd of the year.

Everywhere in that country was crowded. Europe is so incredibly overrated. Us new worlders don't know how lucky we have it.
