Do you feel good in your country? SwedenNo
>>221601480I feel nervous. I tried to quit SSRI and epilepsy medication (for like the 4th time in my life) but I just became a shut-in poltard NEET worried about WW3 for 3 months. My wife is pregnant so I must start work and being normal again, so I just take the medicine. I can say the anxiety is starting to get better though.Sigh. I am too old. I will just be mental spastic forever but atleast I can try be stable and work.

Not usually
>>221601541how come you get to have a wife and i dont even get to have a gf
>>221601541Take a pro tip from a dude with bipolar and 2 kids, youre gonna need to prepare yourself for the newborn stage. You will sometimes want to kill yourself, and your kid, and your wife. Make sure you've got a plan for when you need to crash out away from the family for a couple hours. AND DONT FOLLOW MODERN ADVICE ON SLEEP SAFETY. My mom always laid us on our sides or tummies once we could turn our heads safely, i used the same approach. Sleep deprivation is a sanity killer that isnt worth the risk. My kid was in a lot more danger of me only having 2 hours of sleep than suffocating. The statistical risk ( 0.13% ) is barely higher than back sleep anyway ( 0.5% ) its just doctors min-maxing outcomes. The biggest risk factor in SIDs was actually sleep deprication in parents and alcohol/weed use by caregivers. If you think you can handle it anyway, thats fine, i just know that mentally ill dudes need different approaches to babies than the total infant slavery machine modern society expects you to be. A family cant function without a functional dad, dont forget it.
>>221601660Yeah, it's partly why I restarted the meds. I feel I will need it. My wife's mother will assist for the first year and live with us, so this should help a bit hopefully (she doesn't speak my language so it shouldn't be a pain to me either).I don't smoke or use drugs anymore and barely drink. You are very right about sleep, I had psychosis outbreak once and it was during a time where I had a serve lack of sleep for days. How do you know you are bipolar btw? I suspect I have something (I am very bad at tolerating stress and seem to enter a fight or flight state when a situation does not warrant it. It presents as a typical flight response and can make me quite impulsive).Psychiatrist is too expensive and I am not sure anyone can diagnose something so quickly. I know the epilepsy medication is also used for bipolar, do I often wonder if there is some overlap.

>>221601480IndiaNo. It is literally hell here. I can't wait until I get a visa to work in Europe
>>221601744>How do you know you are bipolar btw? After about a decade of swings between crippling depression and borderline suicidal levels of energy, and multiple stays in mental hospitals, they were able to finally line up my behavioral history and determine I was bipolar. Type, undetermined, and I'm currently unmedicated because i lost health insurance due to job changes. Honestly theres so much overlap and similarity between bipolar, autism, adhd, and schzipohrenia that even if you genuinely dont have it, just having any form of depressive disorder and any other mental health issues is enough that advice can still be relevant. Consider that bipolar disorder is basically just having cyclical highs and lows which go too high, and too low, without any stimulants. So being depressed for a long period of time, followed by a period of extreme, and overly confident, energy, is a a major sign. If that tends to happen to you repeatedly over the years then its at least a good likelihood. Hopefully the cultural differences arent a source of friction. I relied heavily on my own in laws, but theyre from a similar background.
>>221601827How do i delete this?
>>221601809I used to think post partum depression in women was just a lame excuse. I dont think that anymore. I actually wonder how most parents stay sane long enough to get the hang of things without yanking the wheel left into traffic.
>>221601847I do have these symptoms of up and down, but it also tends to follow quitting medication (specifically Sertraline). I wouldn't say I am overly depressed as a baseline, more that I get very anxious to the point I become a shut-in, and this makes me feel down. Someone pointed out to me yesterday that I do tend to present erratic behaviour every few years (issues with drugs, moving all around the world without any prep ect). It could just be retarded behaviour from a young man though. I do notice as I get older my Father has a similar erratic nature about him. It manifests differently (not anxiety but anger) but he is also very sensitive to stress and can be irrational at times of stress. An tips that helped you aside from sleep in managing your condition in general once it was diagnosed?
>>221601480meh, it could be worse>>221601541how the hell you got a wife in the first place?
>>221601480Ngl blud was smooth with it
>>221601567>>221602010Being friendly and not having inflated expectations? I don't understand how people struggle with getting a GF here while being able to hold down a job or hobbies. The GF part is easy unless you are a NEET who never goes out.
