Yeah but the indians in the book were an allegory for the 900k~ pier noir that flooded france after algerian indepdence. I was willing to read this book but I dropped it after the indian migrant who looked at his sister with lustful eyes early on. I was even more confused when I did some basic wikipedia reading and that those pier noirs where bi-racial or literally white but born in algeria. Like at most it wouldve been some friction accents
