This is different from being a vegan because diary is consumed in copious amounts but not meat, we even have restaurants with no meat dishes specifically for these kinds of people.
>>
Vegetarianism has kind of died out, it's veganism or nothing for hip leftist white urbanites.
>>
Eating animals is mean.

Humans are omnivores, you cant live healthy without eating meat
>>

Meat/fish has been part of our diet for millions of years. We evolved this way. We know we’re not meant to eat plants as we don’t have a cecum like gorillas or multi-chambered stomachs like cows.

Very rare here. I can't imagine living without meat
>>221602063
You can.

The most disappointing thing about India is not the lack of civility or hygiene, but the fact that you guys lied to us about the diet. The restaurants here would have you believe that Indians are constantly eating all these delicious meat dishes. Butter chicken, biryani, lamb tikka masala, mutton dishes, etc.

I was sad to learn that 95% of the Indian diet is actually just goyslop in various combinations of rice, bread, and lentils

Humans literally cannot survive without b12. Vegetarians get it from dairy and vegans who don’t take a synthetic b12 or multivitamin always end up getting very sick
>>
>>221602015
More like vegetarian not by choice because products like dairy and meat are not affordable here. Even the fake milk is still expensive.
>>

we cant afford meat everyday

No not really anymore my sister was for a time 10+ years ago because of her Buddhist faze (basic white girl shit). It’s sort of a meme because ice cream is much more gluttonous than chicken and rice for example. The most ethical diet is veganism animals like shellfish oysters and mussels are the most ethical to eat because they have low/no sentience i even think fish don’t really feel either. Backyard hens are ok but you are then eating a carnal act of reproduction. The only foods that truly don’t have life are seeds and fruits but even the water content is life.

How? I have a hard time believing that. Chicken is cheap everywhere
>>
>>221602223
Honey is the most ethical food because it's the only one where life isn't actually taken to make it.
No-kill eggs I would say are also fair game since the unfertilized ones had no potential for life.

You live in the USA where food is relatively cheap.
Those guys are third worlders. Remember, meat was a luxury for most of human history
>>
>>221602239
Yeah true honey aswell

If you’re going by the least amount of deaths per calorie then stick with bison or beef. A 500lb cow would feed you for a year if that was the only thing you ate, and the only things that had to die were 1 cow and some grass. You’d still need to kill a lot of fish to feed yourself and of course growing a single acre of plants you end up murdering millions of critters per year
>>
>>221602232
Meat can be cheaper in the US than some of these countries due to our ag industry. And then they make less money than us too.
>>
>>221602063
You definitely can, the few micronutrients and minerals not provided by a varied vegan diet like b12 and iron can be easily replenished with a simple tablet.

The issue in India is that people think vegetarianism = fuck ton of rice and chapati with any vegetable that comes within 5 feet of a plate being fried. They also don't exercise for shit because India is a developing nation where the cities are hellholes of pollution. Dairy is a great source of protein
>>
>>221602213
Don't you use fish-sauce and other animal-based flavourings a lot? Are they expensive too?
>>
>>221602266
Indian cuisine is still centuries (literally) ahead of Western vegetarian/vegan foods.
Western vegetarianism attempts to mimic meat products with plants whereas Indians have centuries-old recipes that just fully embrace the fact that it's all plant-based.

Most vegans still refuse to eat it because
>it exploits le bees o algo
Even thought its been scientifically proven that human managed hives are just objectively better for the bees
>>
>>221602289
Yeah but the issue is that most modern Indians are eating most vegetables fried and nothing else
>>
>>221602015
Will vote for chodi if he'll bring chicken back to 200

>growing a single acre of plants you end up murdering millions of critters per year
Cows don't just eat grass in their field, they eat feed made from soy or whatever that still has to be grown in vast fields. Cows that subsist just on vegetation are much thinner and definitely not a year's worth of food, you only see them in thirdie countries with family level operations. So the actual murder count if 1 cow plus all the insects and whatever in the soy fields used to feed them.
