I won a scholarship for Spanish language & culture when I graduated for being top of the class. I walked up on stage to claim it in front of the audience on Awards Night. Later they call me and tell me it's invalid because I didn't have sufficient English nor social studies (I was in the 30-3 stream) to study Spanish at uni. Apparently no 30-3 student had ever been top of an advanced class for which they give scholarships before, so they made "a mistake" by giving me the scholarship, and it was to never happen again. I'm the only one this ever happened to or ever will happen to in my country. They changed the high school system since then to not have these same rules, but I'm still affected and can't go to uni without redoing high school.
