Every time I see new buildings in my city I wonder how much dick were the architects smoking
>>
>>221659581
Its AI slop sold as a project how can someone look at this trash and say "yeah lets build it"
>>
>>221659581
That doesnt look bad tho. Just kinda meh and probably overpriced
>>
Every animal evolves into a crab.

Being and architect must be the easiest job nowdays, just and two roofs to a fucking box and paint it in 2 colours
>>
>>221659581
Lmao@ the white ones look like commieshit with a modified roof
They look so bad lol
>>
Head-achingly soulless. I would rather die than live in one of these NPC pods.
>>
>>221659620
2500 eur for m2 so pretty cheap
>>
>>221659581
the architect only design and build what people want. if the house suck, well you wanted it.
>>
>>221659971
What if all of them suck?
>>
>>221660048
do the old school trick where you buy land and build your house on it?
>>
>>221660116
Land is super expensive in this shithole
>>
>>221659581
lol
>>
>>221660274
god forbid you spend money on something that matters
>>
>>221659581
Somehow I knew it's gonna be a Polish flag. Why is our country like this? Where does this cult of ugliness among our architects come from?
>>
>>221659581
When did architects collectively abandon symmetry? Why does every new building need to have parts jutting out at random places?

The hard part is having ideas and data showing what makes people happy but being shutdown left and right because of market trends and other speculative schizophrenia. Everything must be grey and shittily made
>>
>>221659971
absolutely false, proven by several studies. Architects have a completely different value system compared to the general population. Architect school is basically a brainwashing program to join the architect cult. Architects design things architects think is "innovative" or whatever will improve their career, not what people want.
>>
>>221659581
punitive architecture
it's anuda barbarossa
>>
>>221663915
>absolutely false, proven by several studies
oh my science! the studies, Ms. Olga! the studies proved it!
>>
>>221659620
>>221659581
Aesthetics should come from function, this makes them feel more "natural". I do actually think it looks really bad. No one would build anything like this except to make a statement or something. I'm sure these buildings will not collapse, but they sure don't look sturdy.
>>
>>221659581
type of shit i build in sims
>>
>>221663380
I think scandis started this shit trend
>>
>>221659665
>polish flag on the road, so you have to run over the flag
Based
>>
>>221663915
this is the most basic supply and demand. houses are buildt this way because people want them.
>>
>>221664239
>people
Builders and contractors.
>>
>>221659581
What's wrong with it?
>>
>>221664239
Supply and demand doesn't work with design and fashion. People have no taste, they just consume whatever they are told is trendy.
>>
>>221664239
not true, there are no alternatives. if all architects supply only one kind of product there is no option to choose anything else, and people still need to live somewhere. people don't want them, but they have no choice. architects basically have a monopoly
>>
>>221663915
I'm an architect and I design these.

I meant to reply the OP but whatever

these are really nice and comfy. a lot better than israeli commieblocks

From what I hear, the construction companies pretty much dictate what the buildings will be like, since they have a pipeline for materials and elements. Then the architects mostly just get to decide where the windows go and whatever
>>
>>221665901
This looks ok but its city center and cgi, city centers are often a exception from shitty architecture, at least partly

It's a photograph, I think this house. I guess it's just so featureless that it looks like a render lol

They're kinda just spamming that same style everywhere in every new area. It's interesting comparing what the generic apartment buildings look like in different countries, every place seems to have a slightly different style even if they're all just mass-produced slop boxes
>>
>>221664661
there's actual research being done by architecture schools, and they consistently find that classic looking buildings are the most attractive to most people
they even use a bunch of methods developed by the social sciences to interview people, where they measure where exactly your eye drifts towards when they show you different images and stimulus and modern slop loses every single time
construction firms don't give two shits, and you're a retard if you think people unironically say "oh, I was going to buy that house/apartment, but I didn't like the architecture :)"
nobody has ever said that, what fucking universe do you live in where there's so much housing available that people can reject stuff based on aesthetics? this isn't the clothing industry you primate
>>
>>221659581
I don't blame the architechts, i blame the person who looked at the drawings and 3d model and said
>yes, brilliant, here is the money to make it happen.
>>
>>221667451
I polpologize my city is just 170k and aglomeration 320k pop i thought its cgi

All architects should be shot, and I'm not kidding. It's completely unsalvagable at this point. We need a complete reset.
>>
>>221667750
Normies love slop, meaning that classical buildings are slop for the cattle and modern buildings are for patricians with taste however
>>
>>221664810
then dont buy architect houses? its not that hard.
>>
>>221667750
Because left is more expensive to build and maintain. It's not that deep
>>
>>221659581
how much dick the architects were smoking
>>
>>221668161
That image is pretty silly, since the construction company had already designed and submitted a request for a building permit, and then the city had approved it through the various phases, which typically takes several years. They're not suddenly going to build a totally different building because some random guy came up with a 3D sketch
>>
>>221668153
yeah people should vote with their wallet and just live in tents until someone builds something appealing!!
>>221668161
it's not, in Nordic climate flat roofs always cause moisture damage. this is why all traditional architecture in Nordic countries have angled roofs, to have the water and snow runoff. But architects never take into account actual local climate and needs but simply spread their ideological cancer everywhere. A flat roof in nordic climate is the most stupid idiotic thing you can do
>>
>>221668161
oh ok as long as its cheap to build then thats fine, fuck it, lets just build pods already
>>
>>221667750
> what fucking universe do you live in where there's so much housing available that people can reject stuff based on aesthetics?
this universe. i just vent to the store and i passed 2 abandoned farms on my way there, and this is a place that hires, you get a job on the day here.
but no, lets all compete over city housing instead
>>
>>221668308
Left one is also pretty much flat
>>221668280
I also don't understand much tradishun when already in the 60s the most horrid apartment complexes were already being built

I don't think the finished building is actually totally terrible. The color is lame and those seams are sloppy, but over all it's alright imo. I don't know why they stopped using colors at some point, or if they do then it's some weird neon headache
>>
>>221668376
If I can buy some house for less why would I care how it looks from the outside

Like why gray? I don't really get it, it looks like they still painted it but for some reason they chose this. Imagine if it was yellow or some shade of red, now it's like halfway to being good. Especially in the winter when everything's white and gray otherwise too, it helps if the buildings aren't totally colorless too

Grey shouldn't even be allowed ou in northern countries unless its natural. Looks dull during summer and is pure misery during winter. Colours pop a lot more with snow everywhere

Unfortunately it seems to be the meta currently, I don't really understand it. Nothing but brick in various shades of beige or gray, sometimes even brown

if I had to choose between a $100 ugly house, and a $101 beautiful house I too would choose the ugly house
doing otherwise would be dumb, because the ugly house is cheaper and that's the only metric that matters at all

the fact you're changing the scenario instead of agreeing with it means that you see some use in aesthetics, some social or mental well being would come from being surrounded by aesthetically pleasing architecture
but as you said it's the monetary cost, not the aesthetic, social or mental cost of a building that matters, a world of unpainted concrete commieblocks would be utopian, as long as they're cheap
>>
>>221659581

I am really tired of people calling everything "AI".
It's a fucking render with some bad photoshop.

The gutter system looks like it just spills water down the sides of the building. Am I missing something?

Yes, the buildings are not finished and the gutter isnt finished yet

aaand the longest playground award goes to…

also good luck opening a window in summer there with the forest around lmaooooo
>>
>>221670079
I'm not changing anything, obviously I would take a nicer house for 1 dollar more but I would also take the commieblocks over being priced out
>>
>>221670938
oh, that is much better
still don't like the double roof idea if only because it is a waste of space and makes it difficult to clear snow
>>
>>221674662
I'm from the same city as OP. The neighbourhood is in a middle of a forest and a local joke lately because of where it's build, how it looks and the name premium. We have much nicer places both in the suburbs and in the center but I guess he wanted to start a conversation with how the shitblocks look.

I rented an apartment in those when I visited Poland, I hope they have good sound isolation because I made a cute polish twink scream hard in the bedroom hahah

sure, but there is no water
it all comes from the colorado river and the distribution of the water is a key issue between nevada, arizona, and california. the river only occasionally reaches mexico anymore.
my parents have lived in the area multiple times and every time i visit(different houses) their lawn is a bunch of rocks and cactuses.
