Maybe because in Europe historically only the rich could afford automobiles since the first motor works companies over there all made custom shit since the late 1800s. So Motorsports traditions over there were dominated by elite cunts.Meanwhile in turn of the century America even your average middle class/moderately sizable farm owner could afford some form of auto like a ford or some shit, which eventually gets old & sold in rock bottom prices that even the poor could afford.
