>>222645531pharmacy technician for a CVS in a mid sized town/city of like 40k people that was right next to an army basesometime back during covid the armies medication insurance dropped a ton of pharmacies from their network, including the 2 other major chains (a walmart and a kroger) and all the mom and pop places.we were the only place that any of the military guys could get their meds and vaccines (which they needed several to be sent over seas) other than the small pharmacy on base that was staffed by like 3 people and had a monthly budget that they ran out of in like 2 weekswe went from doing ~400 orders a day to over a thousand overnight. people assumed we were hanging up out phones because if more than 6 people were calling us at any given time the system would just drop them.we physically could fit about 7 people area itself to work when easily double that would not have been enough. almost all of the experienced staff ended up quitting, I witnessed a few actual mental breakdowns where people just left and never came back. 2 of the 3 pharmacists quit and were replaced with floaters who knew how shit the store was and hated going there and would put in minimum effort because they would be gone the next day so didnt have to deal with any fallout or real responsibility. technicians were a revolving door of people who would quit before being properly trained because they couldnt handle the stressI was yelled at on a daily basis. We had to call the cops on people threatening violence at least once a month. It was the most soul crushing experience ive ever had.
