Are American southerners just okay with their depiction in the media?in movies their accent is that of poor, stupid, hickish, regressive, perverted, simplistic and all around low class people. The amount of symbolic violence they're subjected to is immeasurable.I haven't seen that much push back against this. How come?

I like the American South. Faulknerian tragedy is in its own category. Songs like The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down & The Unfaithful Servant paint a picture of an immensely sovlful people
