It works well with languages like Italian. With German, I often can't hear the specific vowels they use in normal speech (all that A, ae, au, ou), their connected speech confuse me, and sometimes the word order and the skipping parts of the word confuse me as well. I tried reading it, but it took me a month to read Genesis as its vocabulary was too complex for me at the time, and I read it in a bilingual physical text with the KJV which is my favourite translation, but in hindsight, the ability to highlight words, phrases, and sentences and translate them nearly on an electronic text instantly is much better than typing up every letter or even dictating by voice.Although it’s hard to find data on it online, you might consider finding out what is the translation used for Holy Mass in a Spanish-speaking congregation near you as that will give you the opportunity to hear the text that you read. You can also get a bilingual Catholic Spanish-English Bible from Amazon although they are both dynamically equivalent translations: La Biblia Latinoámerica and the Christian Community Bible; they do, however, have all 73 canonical books and - as far as I know - no other living language has a bilingual Catholic Bible in print.

i've thought about it and arabic is literally worse than hindustanithey're both irrelevant languages despite having bajillions of speakers, both having no good content, however what's even worse about arabic is that it's actually many unintelligible languages in a trench coat like chinese, however it doesn't have a single prestigious spoken and written form like chinese has with mandarin, there is MSA but no one actually speaks it as it's a modernised form of classical arabic a dead language and most arabs aren't even good at MSA in the first placeat least with hindustani there are two dominant varities (there were more historically) and hindi and urdu aren't fragmented into unintelligible dialects, you'll have to spend infinitely more time learning basically multiple distinct languages if you go the arabic route and wish to expand your horizons beyond a single country/regioneven then if you learn both MSA and a spoken form of arabic, you won't get much more use out of it because the most developed arab countries just use french (french north africa) or english (arab peninsula) in higher education, business, diplomacy, etc. this isn't to say that you shouldn't learn arabic if you really want to however it is by no means a "useful" language in any objective metric really, don't learn it just because it has hundreds of millions of speakers on paper, it's no different from any other 3rd world language with hundreds of millions of speakers in the endyou'll probably get more use out of learning hindi to wrangle H-1B jeets than you ever will with any form of arabic in practice

Herro fellow Chinese learners. I have been annoyed by the lack of an easy method to type pinyin letters with tone marks. There are round-about ways to do so, but I needed a straightforward way to input these characters in any environment. So, I used Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator to modify the existing Chinese (Simplified) - US keyboard (which is used for English mode in Microsoft Pinyin keyboard). Installing such a keyboard layout won't create an additional input language; instead it will be added as a keyboard layout to the same input language (Chinese Simplified). It may be handy if you have to use more than 1 input language. E.g. I use Chinese Simplified (for both English and Chinese), Russian (native), Arabic. So, I already have to switch between 3 language inputs. Having installed this layout you will still have to switch only between 3 language inputs but when in Chinese Simplified, you can use the hotkey combo for switching keyboard layout (e.g. Left Alt + Shift) which is barely different from switching between English and Chinese modes (e.g. Shift). The only problem I've encountered is the Windows search bar which tries to analyze the letters as IME input. Otherwise, it works fine as a substitute for the English mode keyboard.I bound ü to Alt+v accent marks ˉ ˊ ˇ ˋ to ' / . , respectively as dead keys. E.g., to type in ā you need to press Alt+' and then a. If you press Alt+' and then press any other key you get a combining diacritic character which can be attached to the preceding letter. The difference between two methods is that dead keys produce precomposed characters (single code points), while the combining diacritics produce separate code points which may look off in some environments.I'm mostly done, tweaking with some extra Latin characters and diacritics that may be useful. What do you think? If you're interested, I may upload it on github after I'm finished.
