When I did my PhD 3/4 of the other students were foreigners. For your questions:1. learn bokmål,m for writing the dialect will come if you just practice spoken Norwegian2. As anon said UiT is small and it gets dark in the winter, be psychologically prepared for that 3. why on earth would you want to go back to India to do a postdoc? The normal situation here is a postdoc in another EU country or industry job in Norway. Top 0.0001% go to the U.S. to do postdoc/research there.
