Just finished the latest 七つの魔剣 and god that was a bloody volume like I thought it was going to be. I guess next volume will go to their 6th year. How is Oliver supposed to get his revenge when the writer keeps widening the skill gap between him and the teachers. They literally show up and casually kill god in front him. That was brutal. I was doing some research and you need two things: Calibre, which allows you to read the book on your PC, and the DeDRM_tools plugin, which removes the DRM. You need to download both: first, open Calibre, and second, add the book to your library. As a senki enthusiast who hates Naisei this was probably one of the best if not the best pure naisei stories from what I've read thus far in the WN, like there are many reincarnated into a king stories but I haven't really read one as down to earth and grounded as this one. Its very monotone, no fights, no big flashy events but goes in extreme details with court intrigues and works.

Legendary Mechanic is the only web novel I've ever read that I considered perfect, there wasn't a single boring moment or filler chapter, ther wasn't a single "that part" in the entire story for me and the best part about it was that the actually best girl won.

Considering reading 空の境界 but I'm being indecisive because when I went and read 月姫 I ended up not liking it as much as I expected I would. Felt really sophomore. Assuming you read the original Tsukihime, the version of 空の境界 that you will most likely read (the 2007 one) has better writing on a technical level since Nasu significantly improved by then. I don't know if that will help you much though because I love Tsukihime (remake and original) as well as 空の境界. Well honestly, I just love all the old-school 伝奇 Type-Moon works.

The web novel is different, yes. Hell, I think the 2004 release of 空の境界 might have some text differences from the 2007 version too. This is going by some interview from Nasu I read some longass time ago where he talked about how he only liked the newer version and wished he could make the older release disappear or something like that. I don't know the specifics of what was changed. I never heard that it was anything plot/character related or anything like that, so I just assumed it was technical writing-related changes.

I wouldn't say hate, but I would definitely always get flaccid anytime the author goes into the autism of just about anything. That changed though when I started reading in nip, for some reason the linguistic logic of japanese helps creates this immersion and interest for me in a lot of things that it never did before. I still don't entirely grasp the reason itself, but despite english being my native language, often when dumps of autism full of say mid-civilization political lingo or military lingo for example, my brain almost just blocks those words out and I never get the clearest picture. I believe it's from a fuzzy understanding of the words to begin with, as english is just comprised of other languages it often feels like just a bunch of random stuff. But everything is usually from the ground up in japanese as it's a more logical language, so reading it there's this sort of "puzzle pieces clicking" feel to things that I've never experienced before, it really adds to the building of the story. I've really started to learn the appeal of autistic content in light novels now. And I really do think it comes down to just being a linguistic thing, like it just can come off better or worse in other languages. I'm probably not wording all this persuasive enough though.

depends on what you are looking for. 道造's 貞操逆転世界の童貞辺境領主騎士 and the more recent 7 knights to die (though not pirated yet) are some good choices. 神統記 satisfies the world-building itch but completely fails as a piece of text that's supposed to entertain, so you will have better luck with the manga. If you don't mind r18, there's 王国へ続く道, completed grand heroic epic, and 侯爵嫡男好色物語 which has a more unique and detailed setting but will probably never finish.

昏き宮殿の死者の王 - Guy is revived as an undead by a necromancer and fights to survive and for freedom. Has nice fights but is エターナルed.

第七魔王子 - Hero reincarnates as a mazoku prince. His goal is to break them from within. Really fun stuff until he visits the human territories which is where I stopped reading.

パラダイム・パラサイト - Guy isekaies as a parasite and infects a dead body. He becomes a sociopath meat monster who while searching for a meaning to his life uncovers the the truth of the world. Long as fuck, but is finished.

いいご身分だな。俺にくれよ。- Dude is isekaied as the second son who will not inherit the house, but decides to RISE UP so he can marry the girl he fell in love with at first sight. He overcomes his obstacles with his 内政 cheats and political maneuvering, with girls falling in love with him along the way. Yes, this is a harem work. Fun enough.

遥か異界の地より - Ugly guy with huge guts tries to survive after being teleported to a brutal isekai. He's constantly put in hard situations where the goal is to LIVE. I really like it but don't read it if you're expecting cute girls.

暗殺者の卵に転生した - Dude who really really fears death reincarnates into a snake boy in a cult. He is an asshole who will do anything to survive and has an interesting relationship with the super genius dragon girl in his group. Has an interesting power system.

ゴルダナ帝国衰亡記 - Doctor gets isekaied as the strongest superior being, but he's rather 流されやすい. Amazing and unique world building, realistic mix of smart and dumb characters, and constant dirty jokes. (Everyone in the world is completely serious though.)
Has 戦記 elements, medical parts (author is probably a real doctor), politics, and a whole lot of the MC trying to deal with the differences in common sense/culture.

From what I see not really but the accrual is more concentrated in the earlier period than narou. So you either get enough stars to catch people's eye early in the publication or you just die, compared to narou where even unpopular works tend to get a steady stream of points later

For a chapter I don't know, but it normally takes about 4-5 hours per volume. 7 for something more dense. I'm a slow reader who stops and takes the time to imagine the scene and thoughts of characters, often going back and rereading certain parts at the start of the page and stuff. This isn't exclusive to Japanese I did this with english stuff too, so it's just a consumption habit, I highly value immersion above all else. Hope that gives you a basis.

Got around to reading it anon, it's great
good things:
- More entertaining that the vast majority of web works
- not exactly a fresh idea but fresh enough to grasp reader's attention
bad things;
- Very clumsy prose early on but turned much better some 10 chapters in. this is a pattern with all web authors, so not really a problem.
- Some odd/unnatural way of phrasing things (especially when the protag talks about the real world), but again not enough to be a bother
- Really unnecessary long explanations later in the story
Subjective opinion:
- The wishy-washy nature of the protag was very irritating before I realized that's a core part of his character. If it is not, and I am just reading too much into it, you should try to make his convictions and driving force more clear, especially early in the story.
- I personally like the way events end in a not emotionally refreshing conclusions, but most readers would probably like something more clear-cut morally and emotionally.

That's about it. I will be following your updates and hope you continue writing till the end

one thing that helps is getting comfortable with reading casually. like your issue is that reading to you is something that takes complete focus and dissection. i think the best way to get over this is to read more elsewhere, where text isnt the main thing. visual novels kind of work but you can still get the same issue at first, so personally my recommendation is browsing the web and most especially just video games. ones where you are reading status effects and all this other information in short bites but it's literally everywhere in the game. and its not mentally draining because the gameplay's there for you. rpgs/tactical games are the best for this in my opinion but maybe anything works, in general it's just about getting used to reading casually, and then when you hop back to light novels it won't feel like you're "flipping a switch" since you're so comfortable with japanese it's perfectly natural, so this dramatically speeds up your reading speed, and your reading stamina.

Dendro comes to mind. Kaido gets flak for how little spotlight he gives Ray sometimes, but his worldbuilding and systems are so good and well-suited for an ensemble cast that going in the other direction instead and focusing on Ray alone would honestly be a catastrophic waste.

completed the first arc of otome game survival's afterstory. somewhat interesting but I wonder what the author has in mind for its direction as the present story situation constraining alia feels antithetical to what made the series interesting in the first place.
