I have an idea for a story in which gensokyo gets completely fucked by fanon. Basically, with the way every 2hu fan IRL has their own view of touhou canon, the boundary between all canon and fanon works somehow gets destroyed, and in turn every character gets disintegrated, splitting off into several fanon versions of themselves. With our MC fighting several fanon 2hus in order to solve this incident (sendai hakurei, white reimu from CtC, KKHTA koishi, etc). I just wish i had the drawing or coding ability to tell this story, but im still too shit at drawing and know fuckall about making fangames

Anyone else ever have issues with pixiv? I've had my account for over 5 years but they suspended it for mystery "violations" that they won't tell me about. First they said no links, so I scrubbed everything of any old catbox links. But they still say I'm violating guidelines even though every single work is censored properly and there's no links. Am I just fucked?

>>49949906Hey there, I bought some makers to try them out, I only bought two colors (one shade of green and one pink) from the alcohol ones and two acrylic ones (Black and White)My first impressions is that the alcohol ones are addicting as fuck to use, they feel so nice to paint stuff around and the results feel dreamy like you said and the acrylic ones didn't feel as "solid" as I expect them to be (Although I think it's because they are not meant for painting but for writing stuff on materials, the nib is solid and not a brush like I expected but I couldn't tell because they were wrapped in a small plastic package).This is a small study I made to test them out, as you can see I used some office ballpoint pens I had around to color the parts that I didn't have (and I don't recommend it, the alcohol diluted the pen outlines and that's why there are some smudges here and there, also Yuuka's ribbon is green now lol) and I used the acrylics for some highlights, lines and blending?What do you think?

>>49958826>>49960771Looks like a great first try! Since your style is based off your instincts, it's basically the opposite of mine where I am quite meticulous and end up with lots of fine details. For traditional marker drawings, I do a lot of planning. First I do a sketch in very light pencil, then I go over the pencil with an inking pen specifically made to withstand alcohol markers (so no bleeding occurs), let it fully dry, then I color everything. You usually have to color in small sections in order to blend because proper blending only happens when the paper is wet from the markers. From what I can tell you draw pretty fast, so actually that might work out for you in that regard because you can blend everything quickly while it's still wet. I usually work in sections, like when I do hair I will do the bangs, then the sides, then the back parts etc. Do one arm at a time, one section of the dress at a time or whatever else. They dry fairly quickly so I'm not fast enough to blend it all at once. If you let them dry then try to blend, it won't work out so well and the color won't look seamless because you can see where the new wet marker overlaps the old dry marker, as the color will be denser and darker (which is why I pick sections because if I need to stop coloring, I can end at that section and the colors won't look weird when I start up again). Because of this my traditional works are all full of mistakes, but I guess that also gives them a bit of charm at the same time. Markers also change color depending on how thick you lay them down, so I have a spot in my sketchbook where I "test" markers together because sometimes when you layer them the colors REALLY change. And another thing is you need a whole bunch of markers in order to make use of their blending and range of colors. Generally they're grouped together based on the color, for example for this Yuuka I used copic YG13 and YG17, chartreuse and grass green respectively. So it's good to buy markers in related groups. I also recommend the gellyroll pens like >>49959258 mentioned, they are great for adding highlights on top although a little difficult to work with at times due to them gumming up or the ink not coming out properly (but that can be fixed by drawing with them on a test paper and cleaning the tips). Here's a few pics I took for you of my markers, and this isn't even all of them. They are a bit expensive to get into but extremely fun at the same time. Like anything else it can take time to get used to them, and you may have to change the way you draw a bit but it could be a great learning experience for you if you really want to dive in. >>49962889Thanks!Yeah my workflow is the completely opposite of yours, pic related is something of a summary of how I work when I make simple character drawings.Lineart and fine details are the last things I think about so my top priority is to get the color harmony and composition in the right places, with a sketch of what I'm going to do and a thin wash of color(first and second step) then I just start doing pretty much everything in on layer and I make changes as I see them fit.I used to work like that, painting under lines and using many layers, and while the results were "clean" it was very tedious and kind of takes away the fun of painting, if I wanted to make one change I had to browse through the many layers I had, so I went for a more direct "drive by cable" as time went on and layers became more of a convenience than a necessity, as if I wanted to experiment and make a huge change to the picture I could add it, see if I like it and merge it down.As a result my works look rough and loose, especially the strokes, but I like that too, it makes it more expressive I guess? The brain can fill in details that are not there, you just need to lead the illusion and this is not an easy task either, so I guess acrylics would go well with this approach.
