However, as you can see from the final episode, the course of events between those two may become the roots of what comes later. So, just as Hanyuu and Eua drifted off to another world, Rika's and Satoko's personalities as witches might also drift off to another world and perhaps become characters in another world's story.

>>50006332Chapter 1 was genuinely amazing to me. It was perfection. I loved the thrill of the rising pressure and conspiracy theme. I loved Keiichi as the main character and his introspection and paranoia of the situation, and the excitement of him frantically trying to figure out what to do as things got more intense. But to me every other chapter so far (currently on 5) except 5 have been unsatisfying. 2 was just brutal and cruel, 3 was a bit too extreme to the point where I just don't even emotionally register to it anymore, 4 was just ok but I didn't really like the change from Keiichi and his friends to the "adults" as the protagonists, and 5 is actually fairly okay so far, because I really like Shion's rebellious and independent personality, and I like the love between her and Satoshi, but I strongly dislike Shion for being so cruel to Satoko and totally dismissing her as a human being just because she's causing Satoshi to struggle. I love Satoko and I felt really bad for her after chapter 4. Especially because I also have been severely abused in my life. So to see Shion treat her so cruelly made me dislike Shion. I also never understood how starting in Chapter 2 it just straight up replays the story from different parts with no explanation even though chapter 1 ends with the death of you know who. But then in the next chapter it just rewinds like nothing happened. I know the spoilers about the loop thing but I don't like how it's executed. But the atmosphere of the original backgrounds and sprites is divine. Higurashi is amazing, but so far I think chapter 1 is still the best.
