Character from the Len'en Project which is a sort of Touhou fangame project (its technically its own thing but just heavily inspired by Touhou)
They're a descendant of Yamata no Orochi that came to life after from the various bits of it that was cut-up. Which is kinda funny because ZUN addressed the idea of "Orochi Descendants" in LE

I'm gonna second this on complimenting the thread pic gens. I had a notepad file where I occasionally jot down request ideas for me to do shotgun requests like last time (both to actually think them over beforehand like "ah this idea is actually just dogshit lol" but also just so I don't forget) one of them was literally "I want to see more wallpaper material gens"

The Elly gen is amazing. One nitpick though the fact that the cloth around her tits are both smoother than the rest of her dress and the fact that they're shiny makes me think she's wearing latex or something. Now I am aware that silk is shiny but there's a definite difference in the lighting physics going on between the two materials (trust me I know my rubber and latex). Something to experiment with I spose


Out of all of these I think Kokoro and Saragi's would be the ones I'd genuinely set as one of my wallpapers (I use the slideshow mode so I have multiple)... partly because they don't got eye-catchers.

It is indeed a coincidence, I actually based the colors off of good ol' RGBY and arranged them in the same order as the Microsoft logo just because that's the only logo I could think of that had all 4 colors arranged in such a way. I was actually not gonna do this at all by the way, this all started with me genning picrel, thinking that pose was really cool and then wanting to try my luck out with other characters. Unfortunately the sky in this one is blue and the aspect ratio is 1:1 so I ended up using it even though I like Komachi's pose here better.

I've seen some people including JynX actually reinterpret Mima's crescent moon staff as a stylized naginata / warscythe, alternatively Takane or some Yamawaro with an Enfield + sword bayonet attached. People forget this but rifles + long bayonets were literally meant to be used as polearms

I kinda want to take a crack at brainstorming abilities and such for Tenkai again. Especially now that ZUN has actually given us a frame of reference for how AI works in the Touhou universe
A big misconception during the early release pre-proper translation speculation scramble was that AI was impure to the Lunarians or whatever but actually reading through the plot here it sounds like AI art is what the Lunarians actually like. Yuiman's ability is basically to process stuff and turn it into sloppa by removing the impure elements (since remember impurity is life and death. AI gens would have neither)
The confusion comes from the cause of Yuiman's crash being "AI stockpiling information that would have vanished without a trace" ZUN treats AI Data & Info and AI art as separate things

There's definitely something to play at with the "AI = Purity" theme, especially since everyone seems to agree Tenkai is too "pure" to be lewded. I definitely want to come up with an analogue to the Tengu Danmaku Camera thing since I've been getting interested in Touhou modding and a Tenkai mod for StB or DS sounds fun but problem is if she's speed sketching how is she going to clear the bullets??

That's not the interpretation I remember at all during the first few days as info trickled out. If the Lunarians thought it was impure they never would have been running an AI farm to begin with, so it doesn't make sense to assume they had a problem with it even if people were dealing with second hand information.

I foolishly didn't realise that if I were to strip her of her cap or many outfits, and gave her a dubious set of PJs, suddenly it's kinda difficult to tell whether it's Merry or Yukari. I guess in a strange, theory enabling way, it works. The setting background gives it away anyway. This is supposed to be a two parter with a 1st part at the arcade with a bra supporting these saggers & hiding the fat, but I got lazy & a little busy, so you get a sloppy woman.

She sketches them FAST, real fast. Maybe gameplay-wise it could be a gradual (albeit very fast) deletion of the bullets rather than an instant one like Aya or Hatate? The whole idea is that stuff gets deleted as she draws. The trade-off could be either a larger capture area or a faster charge time.

For whatever reason she thinks Elly is the standard of beauty, what with her elegant curly blonde hair (as opposed to Tenkai's messy curly pink hair), classy scythe, silken dress and the fact that she has two big beautiful eyes (Tenkai looks a bit squinty with her glasses off)
If you ask anyone in Gensokyo, it's bizarre she decided to have a bone to pick with Elly specifically. But then again everyone needs a rival of some kind and it's not like Elly is doing much these days

I actually experimented with writing an elaborate Omake style backstory for how she got her powers where after falling in the wayside when Analog cameras entered fantasy and rendered her 19th century Newspaper illustration skills obsolete she discovered the Asama Purification Mountain, where she was impressed by the (at the time certainly) unique look of the Four-colour Labyrinth. I then ran out of ideas and got writer's block, but I was thinking of doing something with a lunar purification jewel (like the Ultramarine Orb that's the namesake of the elixir in LoLK) end result is she gained a new edge with the ability to produce Pure Colourful illustrations like those she saw in the Labyrinth.

But I then remembered the concept of purification is completely independent to that of the Lunarians anyways, the Netherworld is supposedly purer than the Capital is which led me to remember the concept of pure lands in Touhou and how Heaven is also a pure land and hey wait a second the name of Heaven in Touhou in the original Japanese is Tenkai!
So I then came up with the idea that she's a "Heavenly" Tengu, more like the mythological nice protector spirit Tengu than the malicious troublemaker Tengu most Tengu in Touhou seem to be. So she has some kind of ability in relation to heavenly purity which is why her drawings turn out looking like AI art or maybe that's just how her art turns out because of her nature. And kinda like how Aya has her serious ancient Tengu side and her silly rumor reporter side, Tenkai has her own serious ancient side (she's older than Hatate, though younger than Aya) where she'll act the part of a celestial being (which does mean she unexpectedly gets along well with Iku and Kasen) and her silly side is just her character as is written already. Would also explain why Tenkai seems to have a grudge against Elly, maybe ages ago she had a bad run in with that younger over-eager Shinigami who wanted to take the life of a Celestial and didn't stop to listen to Tenkai explain the nuances (though Elly has probably long retired since that incident)

Still wouldn't explain the bullet clearing. One idea I had is she just literally has photographic memory powers where she can capture a moment and clear bullets by sort of purifying and absorbing them instead of dissipating them which leads to people accusing her of stealing their danmaku and harming the environment she purifies (to reference discourse around AI use). To an outside viewer it kinda looks like she's just performing the Kikoho though...

That was my immediate first idea too but problem is a lot of patterns in the games are only survivable because the game is designed around having an instant area clear. So I thought instead about what the difference between Aya and Hatate's camera mechanics were (Hatate is geared for close range with an automatic boss lock-on, faster recharge but smaller viewfinder and lack of a long range zoom) One idea I had is she has an instant clear but it starts off even smaller than Hatate's but is positioned far enough ahead of Tenkai so you can snap boss photos without getting close. Useful for quickly clearing your way through a pattern that might hit you but you'll only really get a solo shot of just the boss and hardly any bullets. But if you use the camera zoom instead of shrinking it gets larger and wider (maybe in reference to how if you want to generate a larger scene with more going on in a gen rather than a solo character you got to take the time to gradually do it) but instead of heading further away from you it heads towards you. So you have to try and move towards the boss at the same time in order to get them in the photo???
That's a thinker for sure... curse ZUN for literally making the only photography bullet hell games in the world so we have nothing else to use as a frame of reference

I like what you wrote, both parts are interesting and very creative, especially that whole thing with the heavenly tengu and her name being Tenkai, I guess it's an interesting coincidence because to be honest I had no idea heavenly tengu were even a thing, I thought they were all just troublemakers.
That said though I don't necessarily agree with it because part of her character is her struggling financialy while being a part of the lower caste when it comes to tengu society, and I don't think being a HEAVENLY tengu would really go hand-in-hand with that, given all the nepetism among the tengu.
Then again Touhou thrives off of headcanons and theorized lore and whatnot, so if that's what you want to believe about Tenkai then don't let me stop you.

Unsolicited tip for shopping patterns onto clothing: try playing with layer modes. I'm a filthy GIMPist, so no clue what it's called in other software, but my go-tos for patterns are Grain Merge or Linear Burn (at lowered opacity). tl;dr: it inherits brightness levels from the layer beneath. Meaning, the pattern's lit up where the cloth is, and vice versa. Then you can use the Warp Transform tool to nudge them around for extra verisimilitude. Inpaint optional.

Yeah and it would be less of a headache on my end if all I would have to do is learn to fiddle with graphics instead of the actual camera code. Though that still makes me want to learn to alter the mechanics to account for her having a shitty old second-hand camera. Maybe she has one of those first gen handheld cameras where everytime you took a flash photo the bulb would explode and you'd have to replace it so she has no charge time and the largest photo size but she has no zoom or ability to move her camera reticle plus she has to collect flash bulbs to reload? Alternatively don't go crazy on her camera mechanics and just have the lore be she has to upscale the photo results because since its an old crappy camera they come out low-res and blurry (so the end result is AI upscaled)

Can confirm, Civit gens are slower. The whole site gets progressively more and more asinine as time goes on. First, it was a general ban on sensitive would be R18G tags like gore & bodily fluids, but that also means getting caught in the crossfire if you wanna depict some Grimsokyo lite works. Then, probably because the site is overwhelmingly used by 3DPD people, the belt had to be tighter around minors and "lolis" got caught there. Given RDMPrompt's popularity, he had to label 20 characters under an umbrella where you can only generate PG works or else you can't see your work at all, and let me tell you, getting a PG pre-user re-revaluation is a task and a half. To refer to older works i've posted here before - That Chimi in a sundress? PG-13. The casual, contemporary Nue eating a crepe? R.
Thankfully, typing the character's name in the prompt is usually more than enough to get the character, although you might need to edit finer details. This is only an issue for 2 characters. Shinmy, because Civit flags "minigirl" as "depicting minors", so suddenly doing anything with her small size, even just her in a fruit basket, is a hassle, and Luna Child. Poor Luna's just hopeless. You can't gen her without a LoRA because her name in the prompt triggers "depicting minors", AND her LoRA has been restricted to PG only. I hate it.

Hmm that could work though I'm going to assume by focus you mean the zoom mechanic or the portrait & landscape mode mechanic since focus only lets you charge up the camera faster in the photography games
like starts off very wide but when you zoom it actually doesn't move at all but grows taller and less wide. So if you hold it all the way it just reaches the entire end of the screen in front but if you time it right you can get a more normal square photograph in the middle.

I used to have to do that back when I only used freckles and body_freckles, but ever since I found out that danbooru now has body part-specific freckles tags I haven't been having to do it as much. I use (freckles:1.6), (body freckles:1.6), (thigh freckles:1.6) and (arm freckles:1.6). Depending on whether or not I need to, I sometimes also throw in (ass freckles:1.6), (chest freckles:1.6) and (breast freckles:1.6). It's still a pretty inconsistent tag though hence the intensity. Also even with the new body-specific tags, I still find myself having to draw freckles on her arms, and EVEN THEN sometimes those get removed in the i2i process on as low of a denoise as 0.3!

What's bizarre is that I apparently am that anon but not only do I not remember typing it out, I distinctly remember falling asleep before that was typed out.
