I'm looking for a Japanese comedy that I found a clip of on Twitter and bookmarked it but then it was apparently deleted so now I'm trying to find the source.It was a purposely low-quality comedy scene of a Japanese school girl and school boy in a stairwell and the girl trips and falls with exaggerated low quality smoke effects. The boy yells out "Hinako!" and then it pans over to the girl upside down in a very exaggerated sort of scorpion position.I'm not sure what type of media this came from. Given the low quality nature of it, it could even be just a youtube video or something, but IMO it felt like a comedy movie. It seemed somewhat modern and the comedy levels are extreme parody levels, not like a romcom.Anybody have a clue what it may have been?

If they lean into the "too hot for TV" angle and get a few controversies they completely blow off because "fuck you I don't care what cunts on twitter are doing", it could work. But still, it's a big ask when their promo is just "downtown's back catalog", if they were smart they would've secretly filmed a year's worth of stuff they can dump daily.

Finished watching Desert of Namibia (2024). I watched the first 45 minutes some months ago and stalled it, just now did the final 90 minutes. The beginning is quite meandering and, well, it does stay meandering but after a while I started getting into the long shots and it had some very poignant moments. Was surprised to see Erika Karata at the end. I like the movie overall quite a bit now. Curious to see where this director and Yuumi Kawai end up next.I wanna check out more modern Japanese movies. I'm surprised how similar Brush Up Life is to The Hot Spot. I know it's both by Bakarythm, but like, almost everything is the same, just a different backdrop / setting. They even both have a truck incident in the first episode and that's where they deviate - in Brush Up Life the protag dies and gets a second chance at redoing her life and in The Hot Spot the protag gets saved by a superhuman alien. The rest of the shows are based around their respective gimmick but really, it's just a bunch of middle-aged women coming together to shoot the shit, with the protags narrating the story and things that happen in a comedic manner. Also Kaho appears in both and is a damn cutie.It's good but I don't think it will beat The Hot Spot for me. I liked Mikako Ichikawa quite a lot more than the protag here.Anyhow, please tell me your favorite things with Kaho in them. Preferably as a main-main character, she seems to mainly cast for side roles and hasn't gotten a big breakout role from what I've seen? Kibaiyanse! Watashi looks fun, might check that out soon.
