It's indeed a decent chuunige, had it not been called "Silverio" I wouldn't have been so harsh on it. But as weird as it sounds, the chuuni aspect is not what draws me to Silverio, Vendetta for me is first and foremost a love story, which is why I expected to have the same high-quality deeply thought-out characters in the following games. I can't say it's idealized, especially considering the MC's treatment of the main heroine in the beginning. It's more like the latter, which is why it's kind of hard to talk without spoiling anything. But their relationship changes and develops throughout the whole story.

The management is so out of touch that I bet that's the only real reason they got the old ones. Sumika's and Tama's VAs both happen to still be active so that's probably part of the reason. Nothing against the newer cast but when we've all put 100+ hours into Muv Luv stuff with the original cast, you can't really separate the characters from the voices.

Anime adaptations changing the eroge VAs was the norm back when adaptations were commonplace, so now that Muv luv is getting into R-18 territory again using the original VA is logical, not out of touch. Out of touch would be using the anime VAs and no h-scenes in the collab.
