>>50199990Nice GET.I got so much shit from playing PC-98 first before 6 by Anons and people I knew back in the day. Glad to see some actually play the fucking games.
>>50199994Huh, odd. I don't rember anons here getting aggressive if you just started by the first game.>back in the day.Never mind I didn't read. Still no clue what reasoning would be behind throwing shit to someone who decided to start at the first game but whatever, fandom stuff.Maybe they wanted you to be up to date faster or something idk.
>>50200041They were mainly TF2 players or posters on here a few years back, the usual suspects.PC-98 is a mess but it has a certain aesthetic not in the other games.
>>50200043>PC-98 is a mess but it has a certain aesthetic not in the other games. Also simpler and less gimmicky like the first windows games.... except HRtP, but well I've enjoyed most 2hu games, honestly.I also dig the aesthetic but I'm a retrofag so my opinion is biased.
Touhou98 experience 3.0 when?
river raid doesn't have cute girls though.
Pofvgods remind me how do I beat this game in lunatic, I remember there was a trick for the bosses to die quickly or to make my screen be easier to dodge, especially the latter stages.
>>50203669Play as Medicine or Aya
>>50203674That's not the point.
Last weekend I got my first ever Lunatic 1cc. Figured it was about time since I made the jump from normal to hard some years ago, all I needed was some confidence really. Next I'll try out Marisa and then go back to some older games, see how difficult they are compared to WBaWC.
>>50203669>I remember there was a trick for the bosses to die quicklyMedicine or Aya, as the other anon mentioned. See here for reference on why this is the case: >>50024423 & >>50024430>or to make my screen be easier to dodge, especially the latter stages.Don't fire too much so that the density of bullets bounced back and forth is less and the timer runs out. That's how you cheese Extra and its generally the same for regular gameplay.
>>50206235I know how broken Aya and Medicine are, but I want to beat the game with all characters and those two are cheap wins.I've already beat the game with another character (with extra) but it was just me getting a huge score for more extends for the Eiki fight, and a bit of luck.Wasn't there something that made the AI made more mistakes? I now they start to die after the 2 min mark but I'm having issues making it to that, should I reset my score and go for lvl 1 reversals?I noticed that some rounds they don't send as much stuff and they eventually die out of the hidden timer, but sometimes they go from 0 to 100 in nothing, I would like to keep it like the former.
>>50206934beat the game with all characters in lunatic"
>>50206934I don't think the AI is supposed to get hit at all before the hidden timer ends, but sometimes it happened and I don't know why. I remember reading somewhere that it's more common with Reimu but I'm not sure about that.
>>50207008Yeah they have a hidden timer that controls when are they supposed to get hit on purpose, for stages 1 to 5 they die at the 1 minute mark on first round, then 6 to 9 at the 2 to 3 min mark.
>>50203669>>50206934There isn't really any sort of easy cheat that lets you win like PoDD has i.e. just go pacifist for the last two stages and watch the ai eventually suicide, just have strong fundamentals. Only use gauge defensively, chain fairy kills to get as much bullet clearing as possible, know when to ease off the throttle so you're not pushing a dense game state where the ai has a massive advantage, and just be patient because the ai will eventually start killing itself.imo though Extra is more fun than Lunatic, in part because it gives you clearly defined goals rather than a vague "the ai will eventually screw up".
>>50207008>>50207182sometimes they just fuck up regardless i guess, idk. https://files.catbox.moe/q56ist.mp4
>>50207403To be fair, Sakuya's knife hitboxes are quite big.>>50207313So patience is the key....https://youtu.be/gYNlJQ-dIuY?si=I71tF4D6io-d8XC3
>>50207313Also I just realized this>There isn't really any sort of easy cheat that lets you win like PoDDAnd I remembered the advice I heard a long time ago was for PoDD not for PofV
>>50207413>To be fair, Sakuya's knife hitboxes are quite big. It's not even all her knives, just her extra attack. That line of knives is actual bullshit.
>>50207523Tell me about it
I mean, it's not like it's purely a matter of Sakuya. Sometimes Stage 7 Yuuka will die in 20 or so seconds or something. I really don't know what could cause this besides just the AI being baka.
Do score extends exist in PCB or is it just the point itemsAsking bc it feels like I've gotten extra lives without getting the whatever amount of point items required but then again I could've just picked up a 1up and not noticed
>>50207953The latter
The CPU in Phantasmagorias main issue is speed, the way they work is making them predict the positions of nearby bullets in the next frame(or few next frames).Yet while they have inhumanly fast micro dodging skills they have no "prediction". For example the AI can be dodging around a yingyang, but if that orb happens to sandwich them with an edge of the screen or some other orb or bullet it might get cornered and situation it can no longer escape. This can even happen if your lucky with normal bullets and other stuff, it's less likely but can happen if the CPU corners itself badly, this happens with Chiyuri in PoDD where her lvl2/3 are just simple streaming for a human but the CPU goes back and forth all the time while streaming. The easiest things to corner tend to be big and/or fast like Aya's and Reimu's orbs and enemies in PoDD. The edge of a screen also limits the CPU a lot and it seems the CPU prioritizes destroying enemies to avoiding screen edges.Slower characters also have more trouble dodging things, since they can move less per frame. So characters like Yuuka or Ellen will get hit more easily just like characters in a poison cloud. Since the CPU has the micro dodging skills it usually has no issue at all with fast characters so Aya, Chiyuri, Yumemi tend to get less unintentional hits.tl;dr: CPU is weak against fast/big and handles slow character movement badly since those result more likely in sure hit situations. Screen edges also mess with the CPU.>>50207403>https://files.catbox.moe/q56ist.mp4Probably the AI trying to dodge the attack to the side then getting cornered by the edge of the screen when it was too late to dodge the big hitbox by going up or down.Maybe the AI even gets confused sometimes going up and then down in a few frames... Depends a bit on exactly how got programed.
Any clears, Anon?
>>50203872Nice going. First L1CC is a big step.
