>>50237250Ojousisters, our response? But both are monkey girls, just the colors are different, but Reiko feels more sympathetic to me.
>>50237250I like Hiruta's approach towards character writing. It does make you sympathize with the rich bitch by revealing how she became that way, but she doesn't stop being a bitch. The prostitute isn't in need of your kindness, instead she begs you to treat her even rougher than her customers do.

>>50238005The information stopped being public around that time. In recent years even FANZA have stopped showing how many copies a title has sold on the VNs store page, but they barely ever reached over 20k copies sold anyway. Here's a comparison of the amount of titles being released by VN companies now vs a decade earlier. >>50240859I don't think it's entirely pointless if the reviewer shares similar tastes as you. Sometimes I'd browse vndb to check commentary from others who liked the same stuff I did. I got way higher quality recommendations from them compared to any eceleb or random on social media.

Wow. Maybe I am easily impressed. But this was good enough to make me sit back and stare at the ceiling at the end for maybe 5 minutes and think "I'm glad I bothered learning Japanese". I'm definitely going to have to replay this, maybe yearly. I enjoyed it a lot, much more than I expected going into it. Fucking phenomenal. I can't remember the last time I have been so moved by any literature. Must be at least 2-3 years at least and I'd struggle to think of what it was. Thank you to the anon(s) who suggested I pick this for my October read, sincerely.

So, I've finally attempted to read Sora and damn this is hard. There are just way too many unknown words. by god that is cute...
>>50246791I only started going through the Mika-chan chats in the third arc and immediately got a limited topic linked to a scene I just read. Would feel silly if I missed any limited ones from earlier, not sure if there were though
Haven't read VNs for a while, but decided to read Sakura no Toki.It wasn't bad or anything, but kinda disappointed.Way too little focus on Rina and Rin. I don't even understand their thought process in trying to be a rival/obstacle to overcome for Naoya while also leaving him alone. Kei was Naoya's rival because he actually interacted with him and told him that straight to his face. Also that whole ending sequence starting from the weird paint battles felt rushed and a lot of characters felt underused. The whole art club had 0 presence other than Nei.Also a lot of the art philosophy felt heavy handed because they keep repeating the same thing, like I get it. Housai only ever references that bald mountain story with every character he talks to.Misuzu was cute though.
>>50246967Oh yeah, the Kei wank was unreal.I wanted a story that continues off from when Naoya gets over his death, but it ends with that.
>>50246955>I only started going through the Mika-chan chats in the third arc inconceivable to me because i find her the most intriguing character thus far besides the green eye girl. I'm still only on the second arc, though. I thought I'd be binging this more but I'm taking my merry time in the reference menu just going over the material>Would feel silly if I missed any limited ones from earlieri didn't even realise there were "limited" topics. i've been checking in with her after every scenario but this game is pretty well thought out and organised. i doubt you missed anything, and even if so, anything important
>>50246791Just you wait. Mika-chan gets way more moe in the second half of the game. >>50246955The game warns you about limited topics so it's hard to miss them if you are proactively checking which ones are available.
>>50246328I played kuokana on release so there was no hardmode, and I also thought it was extremely easy compared to mahosho, but I also thought hard mode would not fix the issue, because what made mahosho interesting was the fact that there was limited EXP to gain, so you could not become too OP and you'd always have just enough MP to kill elite units(even if you purposefully waited for nests to pop to kill extra colored units inside it, normal objectives would become ez but repeatedly waiting for each nest to pop and see what comes out of it still required thought and strategy). However in kuokana there's a feature that if you die and get game over, you repeat but get to keep all your exp, 敗北しても経験値そのまま資金増加状態でやり直せます which is also part of the story so I don't think he's remove it for hardmode, or I can't see it in the patchnotes I'm reading right now, so it's impossible for it to be challenging in the same way mahosho was, unless you self-impose some rules for yourself. I'm still curious how hardmode feels, so I'm gonna download and play when I have time, I was a bit dissapointed in kuokana gameplay after mahosho because I just facerolled every mission, but I liked it's characters and story more...
>>50246967Now that I think about it more, Sakura no Uta was much better constructed as a whole too.The available route order slowly reveals layers of info and gradually gets more fantastic.Rin - why Naoya can't use armMakoto - IIRC a bunch of background info on the Nakamura and Toritani family.Rina - background info on Hakui and the power of the thousand year old sakura treeShizuku - truth of Rin's accident and Sui's identity.True - compete with the physical manifestation of Rin's godly talent. Rin also achieves God form through fusion with Sui offscreen. (what the fuck man Sui was my favorite character)Sakura no Toki on the other hand had that weird first chapter with Shizuru that only exists to show that a special pottery glaze exists and to set up for Makoto route, that second chapter where they make fliers, that Misuzu route where I honestly don't remember anything other than freaky sex and the dad lending big bucks on counterfeit collateral, and that Makoto route where Shizuru makes up with Reika. They just don't really build up for the true route where Naoya uses magical paint and magical dream water.
>>50247314>Now that I think about it more, Sakura no Uta was much better constructed as a whole too.remember, scaji never sweats the small details, he always focuses on the big picture

Geez I didn't realize it was that kind of gamehttps://hanoura-maze.com/#concept
>>50248161I wonder if they will announce more games for 2027 to keep the momentum
>>50247314When you think about it, Naoya was preparing to face Rin for all these 10 years, like how he was researching hekihi, training his arms. Maybe the light art he made in VI was one of his ideas. But was not sure any of them would work at all, like in the Mizusu and Makoto routes. Housai only spilled the beans of the Roku Souzu on the true route because he felt Naoya would finally deliver. And at literal gunpoint, Naoya didn't have a choice but to try the stuff he was researching. He even asked the Nakamura guy to kill him when everyone was disappointed he was only filling a big ass canvas in black.I too wanted more focus on Rin and Rina (I honestly thought Rina and Yuumi would never appear again before reading sakutoki) but it would indeed take the Kei's spotlight. They have too much presence. Especially Rin, she would take sakutoki for herself.
New Karin Project after 6 yearshttps://nexton-net.jp/KarinProject/bocchi/
>>50248174The Kei shit should've been gotten over with in like the third chapter, and then have more build up on Rin. She just got ultra cucked because Naoya was STILL dedicating his art in the final showdown with Rin to Kei.
>>50248484It's kinda difficult to admit but, Rin could only dream of having that much of a impact in Naoya like Kei did. Kei dedicated practically his whole life to Naoya, and never tried to hide it.Kei's way of life is the life Rin dreamed of when she was a child. Maybe if she didn't hide her talent, things would be different. That said, let's see what the extras in sakuuta 10th anniversary and sakuoto will bring to the table.
>>50248666>That said, let's see what the extras in sakuuta 10th anniversary and sakuoto will bring to the table.Didn't even know that was coming out. What the hell is sakuoto, a sequel?
>>50248748All we know officially is that it will include the students' routes that were to be included in sakutoki. But seeing the teasing sca ji is doing on twitter and the description of sakuuta remake, the extras in it seem to be a prelude of something more. Or it's just a cope of mine, I don't know.
>>50246595I don't get TS stuff. If I want cute girls I go for cute girls. If I want cute shotas I go for cute shotas. Turning cute boys into girls seems pointless, a weird fetish like those gays who go into extreme BDSM and literally castrate their sub. Shrimply not for me, which means people who like it are wrong and stupid and maybe evil.
>>50248666Naoya using his right hand in a showoff against Rin instead of Kana would've been great. I can't believe even Thomas got more of a spotlight than her.
>>50248967That only shows to me that his right hand was not enough for Rin. And he could simulate it with the springs anyways. Even Kana with the exoskeleton could do the same. But yeah, Rin needs her time to shine.
>>50249038I was thinking of a live painting showdown. It would be an easy 感動 moment where Naoya shows to Rin that he can still use the arm she broke to draw.
>>50249062I just wanted a two-hour conversation between the two without any bullshit bothering them. Nothing fancy, really.
>>50248958You can write a story about anything, and I don't think there's anything wrong with stories about cute girls and boys just being cute. But I've found that really compelling stories are often about a great rise or a great fall, and TS as a concept works really well for both. The brave knight who rescued so many maidens is turned into a beautiful, vulnerable elf maiden himself. Does he overcome his predicament and rise back up to being a knight again, perhaps even a greater one for the experience? Or does he fall helplessly further and further into weakness and womanhood, until there's nothing left to do except accept his (her) fate?I find it all very dramatic and ironic. And you can write it 100% seriously, or have lots of fun with it and turn it into a comedy, or anything in between, and all of them work equally well. Every story ends up being a little different, so I never get bored of it.It isn't for everyone, and there's definitely a lot of garbage you have to sift through to find the good stuff (that goes for anything though, I guess), but the good stuff can be very good.

>>50249299ok thanks, tho the recommended route order is different here than in other guides
>>50249309I reccomend going Tsugumi - Sora - Sara - (You)
>>50249822the jp one say tsugumi > sara > you > sorayou say tsugumi > sora > sara > yougamefaqs says tsugumi > sora > you >sara
>>50249922don't listen to the jp one, tsugumi -> sora is the ideal first two. either the anon's recommendation or gamefag's is fine
Has anyone played this on Windows 10? Not VM cancer, regular install.
