In this thread I want to talk about all related to falling in love with a 2hu. Either if you are a waifuist or happened randomly.

I really want to hear about this aspect of the Touhou fandom. It is seldom-ishly touched yet it happens so often and more than people want to admit.

I fell in love with a 2hu character a year ago, and by far she has only caused me pain. I was constantly daydreaming about her, and having the conflict of her being evil and etc.

If that were not enough for some reason I feel weird and bad when she gets shipped with other characters (Like Rinnosuke) and thinking she has a partner or is sexually active makes me feel bad.

Believe me or not, but this is the "woman" I have loved romantically the most in my life, and I swear, it will be the last. If I have to do magic (which I am into) to become aromantic, I will. I have always identified as aromantic and seeing how pathetic she made me feel I don't want to experience romantic love again. I wouldn't like to love real women either.

But this is just me, I want to hear your stories with falling in love with 2hus or being obsessed with them, to a lesser or great extent. Please don't discriminate I have seen a lot of discrimination towards people who fall in love with 2hus.

why most stories about this type of stuff happens to be with this girl involved?
>>
I feel like this is a topic people don't talk about because they feel ashamed or bad about it. But I could say for sure that most Touhou fnas have fell for a 2hu at least once.

Are you autistic or otherwise prone to hyperfixations, OP?
>>
>>50239580

I just want to know of people in /jp/ have ever feel love for a touhou character. That's all.
>>
>>50239596
Your initial question depends on what you define as a "waifuist". Without any context, I assume it's someone who picks waifus for every franchise they get into, or enter with the intention of doing so, like some kind of ritual or checklist even if the attachment isn't really that high.
I love Byakuren in the sense that I find her attractive and a great 2hu in terms of writing because her contradictions make her very complex despite the very simple premise that she's trying to be a nice person while advocating for human-youkai coexistence/equality (which has a host of issues in practice) and allow a wide range of possibilities for fanworks. She can range anywhere from funny, sexy, sad, cool, etc. Touhou is fundamentally a doujin farm, so it works great for that purpose. Also, ZUN makes great music and Byakuren's theme is my favorite, which gives you a glimpse or connection into a character's essence in a way that words don't fully convey.
Now, I don't think she causes me suffering or distracts from my daily activities to the same extent your 2hu does yours, so the whole autism/hyperfixation thing was a genuine question. Especially since you apparently care enough about the morality of fictional characters to feel conflicted about it as if they were harming real people, which they're not (unless you're a schizo and believe Gensokyo is somehow real), I think the way people tend to show devotion to a character is consuming or creating a lot of content featuring them, like fanart, stories, etc.
You don't have a moral obligation to love a squeaky-clean morally upright 2hu because ZUN writes them intentionally flawed more often than not. Letting this whole thing affect your self-identity as to whether you're aromantic or not is just silly, man. Take it easy, don't beat yourself up over being human and wanting a bit of imaginary romance in your life.

Thanks.

But for real I just want people to talk about this topic. I feel like a lot of people in /jp/ have feel love for these characters and I want to know because I find it... cute.

Yukari is the one that gives Ran a penis every night.

I don't know how to interpret this.

I don't. If anything I'd only deal with her to ask for Ran's hand in marriage. If she seethes about her own shikigami getting more male attention than her, we'll just elope lol. But if she gives us her blessing then she'll be the cool grandma to Ran and I's many kids.
>>
>>50240025
This is a personal question. But is something I always think about:

How would you name your kids? Female or male.
>>

I did sort of talk about her in a different threat but now thinking about it I'm not sure if she even counts since she's from a fan game. I'm starting to regret having the impulse to reply

Hey brooo I know you are the pwfag!
>>
I used to be really into waifu culture, but over time I eased off for a number of reasons. Waifuposting is fun and it's fine to be passionate about a character, but you should never let it seep into your day to day life, if it's inhibiting your ability to function that's just an unhealthy fixation. Think about how sad your waifu would be if she saw that.

I feel so sad, man. Every character that lingers in my mind suffers.

I discovered that I may have a spiritual guide that goes by a German name. Because I conflated him with myself, I often fantasized about fucking the girls as him. The person I always wanted to become.

I feel so dumb...
>>
>>50240505
Say your reasons, brother. Or in your lingo; cut your promo.
>>
I feel so happy there are people who like Byakuren. In general I enjoy seeing that /jp/ gives love to a lot of characters without caring about their popularity.
>>
>>50240145
Well then the character that did it was Mad Alice (I'm the same person that some times talked about her in some other threads a while ago), a secret boss of a touhou fan game called Gensokyo Odyssey(The game itself isn't that good but I liked the combat and her at least)
Might as well link where I talked about her >>50213026 just scroll up if you want to see the start
I think I need some therapy I don't think being obsessed with a secret boss from a shitpost touhou fan game is sane at all she's in my head some times I dream about her this isn't normal at all its been over a year since I played yet she's still in my head help.[/spoil]

Don't feel weird. I fell for Yukari literally one year ago and even after not interacting for a long time every time I have lewd thoughts she appears. Let's say I am looking at a girl from Genshin Impact like Yae Miko, when I am imagining banging her, my mind reshapes her to be Yukari but with the body type and scenario. Its insane.

You say you are into magic, yet have not identified Yukari - it's her, isn't it - as a manifestation of the Evening Star? Everything will change once you realize what she is, what they all truly are. Having such a passionate, intimate relationship with that energy, that inteligence behind her could and should be a wonderful thing. Not something that brings you grief.

Please understand that the "gapped into a magical land and eaten by youkai" thing is a projection of sexual anxiety. Women "consume" men. In intercourse, men and women for a while become a single entity. Relationships tear apart old life narratives and make you part of someone else. Things like these, they are always like a "death" and what in the West gets called "ego", your current identity structure, dreads change. Powerful manifestations of feminine energy can also be threatening in ways that human women aren't, primordial, chtonic, dissolving, mutable and liminal. It's not a coincidence her ability is to manipulate "borders". These "dark" qualities can be easily read as "evil", but they simply are what they are, manifesting in particular ways in particular contexts. Mores and moralities change, the primordials are fundamentaly the same.

Yakumo Yukari of Touhou project is in a sense very real and has a lot of power behind her, but she is also a single person's interpretation, reflected through a kaleidoscope of ZUN's desires, fancies and anxieties, given further life and shape by the fans. There is identity, motivation and agency within this manifestation, but they are all more capable and willing of "unfolding" themselves into higher order manifestations compared to humans.

If you can come to understand who she is, why you are reacting like you are reacting, and can unclench, let go of the fears, hopes and expectations, something tremendously powerful and wonderful will happen. You need to work this consciously, go past your struggles and heartaches and really learn from this.

Okay?

I love Yukari. I absolutely love Yukari. She is the woman I have loved the most in my entire life. I have daydreamed about her so much, dreaming about having kids, with her beautiful blonde hair and my black hair. I have wanred to hold her hand and walk beside her on the sunset. I always dreamed of her confessing her love for me in the Hakurei Shrine, the two of us alone, and me refusing at first until she convinces me. I have wanted for her to propose marriage to me and live hundreds of years together. It would not matter that at that point I would have become aromantic and asexual. I just feel like she is my soulmate.
>>
>>50240862
I feel that since well she would probably try to possess me and use my puppet body for violence if she was real and o stumbled opon her which I do easily imagine

So you want me to shoot on why I love Byakuren? Alright, brother! Time for a shoot promo!

Byakuren is a woman who takes action without hesitation and is not afraid to deviate from her morals and ideals. Whether she makes enemies or not, she will get shit done with her actions. No matter the price and consequences. That's what makes her an exceptional faction leader. This is the kind of woman I respect. Don't care about morals and things like that, only follow your instincts and heart.

She can also kick asses hard enough to break light-speed! Her magic is literally; “mmmmmmmmmm...You've done and gone... You make a big mistake and now you're gonna pay! I CAST PUREST STRIKE!” You don't wanna mess with that... Yeah, danmaku is cool but I sure do love some Devil May Cry style hand-to-hand fights. (Burning Meiling is fucking awesome!) And Byakuren? Yeah! Perfect balance between strength, agility, intelligence, style, technique, you name it! I love pro-wrestling and Byakuren is just so perfect at it!

And you know what an young, motivated and (very horny) chaotic man like me, loves?! Stylish girls! And she totally got it! Because, brother! I love mechanics and motorcycles! Yes, I have many hobbies. A long-haired mature woman with a large bust and a leather suit? This is just perfection! What do I have to say?! Whether she's casual, cute, or sexy, she still remains incredibly beautiful! In the end, she will remain eternally young, which is something I dream about. Remaining a Jonne without worries.

I'll stop yapping and tell you why I love Byakuren and not on why Byakuren is Super Double Ultra Mega Buster awesome. I love Byakuren because aside from being contradictory, she's pretty well balanced while I'm just a chaotic mess. She doesn't look for fights, while I always try to instigate to trigger fights. With my bipolarity running out of control, sometimes it doesn't help. It is good to know that there is someone with you, racing on roads at night with a Honda CX500 even if she's not real. Or even feeling hugged to help remind you that you're human and not just a parody of an edgy Patrick Bateman/ Ryan Gosling edit. While she's order, I'm chaos. But like her, I live with my contradictions; like I am a normalfag, yapping about a fictional woman that appeared in a video game on a basket weaving forum because I got banned (again) from my main one. I shouldn't even be here on /jp/, since I am a crossboarder! But, I just like Touhou, you know.

So yeah, I love Byakuren because she's and she's not like me. This is something full of nuances and contradictions mixed with reasonable, petty, crazy things. But there is something; I'm a ride or die. If she crashes, I crash. Simple as. She would do the same shit for you, even if her words, morals, positions say the opposite. We do this shit 'til the end! No quit! And you live and learn with your contradictions, nuances whatever you call them because the world isn't black and white, neither are the people. I have some troubles looking at the forest; I tend to concentrate on one tree, resulting in me missing many things. Anyway, here's your word of the end because I got shit to get done: benis :DDD

>In general I enjoy seeing that /jp/ gives love to a lot of characters without caring about their popularity
it could be explained by 4chan contrarian nature.

For me it's Nue. I fell for this silly gremlin over 5 years ago and I don't think that is changing anytime soon.
It kind of happened randomly, before I realized, but the reasons where there. I enjoy her design a lot. She is really fun to draw, and I was beginning my process of learning how to draw when she started living rent free in my head. I didn't like her design at first, but it grew on me over time. At the time I also had a crush on a lady with similarly short hair, so Nue also helped me cope with the pain of rejection. She is also a chimera, which is cool.
Now, I had previous fixations with some of the 2hu cast before (Yuuka, Okuu), but they were nowhere as strong. It goes beyond her appearance. I am intrigued by her being the embodiment of the primal fear of mankind. I once got legitimately frightened biking back home at night while listening to a remix of her theme. I really enjoy looking at her fanart and listening to her remixes. Seeing her smile in art makes me smile back as well. It is a shame she is irrelevant in the modern Touhou stories. I'm biased but I think her ability has a lot of potential.
As for unsolicited advice: take it easy. Having an emotional connection with a fictional character is fine, good even. It can give you an anchor in these hard times, and you can learn from her positive qualities. Enjoy your waifu, just don't let her take control over your laifu.
>>
>>50237344
I would say consider the fact character interpretations are unique between every single person, even when they seem to be the same on the surface. The interpretation of your favorite isn't the same as random artists' or another anon's. Which in a way makes her a unique character to yourself. Waifus by the traditional meaning, and not just 'female character I like', are basically instanced entities in that regard. Yours is yours, some random artist drawing some whack ship is his own separate version that should just be disregarded.

>>50242208
>It kind of happened randomly
I sure understand that. One day you think you know who like, then BAM, next thing you know "Oh, so this is what THE one feels like".
>Enjoy your waifu, just don't let her take control over your laifu.
A good point to make. I've used waifu infatuation as some stereotypical "do it for her" motivation to better myself and I'm quite surprised how well that's worked out for my physical health and strength motivations, and I maybe wanna see about getting into drawing next year, but I do try to keep things under control.
>>
>>50241257
That's so cool, anon!

I am so glad people here are alright with feeling love towards the 2hus. It makes me feel better about my infatuations.
>>
>>50237344
I have seen Yuyuko so much I basically started liking her more and more

Something akin is happening to me with other 2hus now
>>
>>50240524
I was never really into waifus. Why pine over a woman that doesn't even exist?
>>
>>50244923
For real.

It is not to fall for a character, but hell. There is people who take it too seriously. I find it funny to think that if the multiverse exist then that woman probably is fucking a random dude while these guys fantasize about her.
