Tried drawing a weed cirno spellcard. The shading and form for the smoke came out surprisingly well but the rest of the drawing not so much. Part of this is because I didn't have a darker green crayon on hand and I wasn't sure how to handle that. I also only decided to add shading some time into the drawing, so the whole thing wasn't planned out. The background could've come out better. I drew it from imagination and picked bad colors for the dirt. I wasn't sure how to shade the mountain and ended up going over old strokes. I generally got impatient and didn't color things in cleanly. Trees have always been a challenge for me, and that's because people say to draw what you see but I can see the hundreds if not thousands of separations in the branches and it feels impossible. With a pine tree you have the trunk rising from the earth from which main branches sprout off a few at a time, which then sprout into twigs maybe three at a time, growing outward triangularly as twigs split off and you get the very end in maybe a group of three, which then have needles maybe 5 or 6 around a given section of tree. Every tree has dozens of small holes in its canopy from which you can see the back sides of its branches or through to more trees with more holes. Then you have to figure out how to shade the thing. In the canopy's holes I can see which parts of the leaves are being seen from in front versus behind. The tree's foliage as a whole erratically switches from light to dark in strange splotches. Sometimes you can see the shady versus sunny side of the same leaf, even from some distance.I figured out how to draw the marijuana leaves, though. The leaves all originate from a point in the bottom center. They're shaped like blades with serrated edges. There's 5 big leaves gradually decreasing in size from the center and two tiny ones. I made a mistake in the leaf behind Cirno by getting the center and origin mixed up but it's the kind of mistake that teaches me to avoid it in the future.I think I need to start using two pages of my sketchbook for drawing at a time: one side for color testing and getting the shape of things and stuff, the other side for the actual drawing.

Finally got this one done (I wasn't sure what to draw for this season, so I took a long time wondering what to do), this time I wanted to focus on small details instead of giving the illusion of detail like I usually do, just like how shiratamaha, one of my favorite artists, does it. What are your thoughts on this?

When my eyes wander over the piece, it's clashing for the background trees to just look like puff balls when the rest is more detailed. Also at first, I was confused and thought there were golden puffy clouds behind them until I realized they're supposed to be trees. Their dresses have more wrinkles and creases than usual, which is a nice touch, I'm only missing Shizuha's leaf pattern at the bottom of her dress. I do believe you freehanded this piece? If so, kudos for trying more freehanded work. All in all I think it's a solid work. I find your pieces involving nature scenes to be your best works and this is another good addition to that pile.

It's not a new style, this is a pen I've used a few times previously that I rather enjoy the feeling of, but this is the first time I've completely done the coloring all with this particular pen and nothing else. I know obviously that boobs don't really work like that and if it were real that overly stressed microbikini would snap off in a second. You're probably familiar enough with my drawings that you're aware I often draw saggy heavy breasts. This time, I was thinking of ecchi anime pin-ups I would save in the early 2000s and use as desktop backgrounds. When I was younger I'd always get mad and say "where's their nipples?!" "Are their boobs filled with air?!" haha but this time I decided to draw in that same ridiculous ecchi style, with big gravity-defying boobs and no aerolas (except in the alt). Seems like maybe you want a saggy version for yourself. ;3 I could try making another alt or two later today, I was just worried it wouldn't look good.
