This site may be of interest to some of you:https://world2ch.nethttps://world2ch.net/imgboard/
thanks for the tip, with how boring the regular internet is with everyone on 2 or 3 lame sites like insta and tiktok we need more imageboards, especially non-cucked imageboards
>>50298469>>50298535I tried it out a while ago, but lost interest because it isn't like the original world2ch where most of the users were Japanese; here it's just a bunch of white guys pretending they're japs who don't speak English well.
>>50298553So basically this board?
>>50298595Closest thing to that are people claiming to have moved there. Though, my understanding is that World2ch was always kind of like this, just again with bigger 2ch population. Anyway, here:http://tanasinn.info/wiki/Kopipe:Yoshinoya
Fuck Menchi.
Good site if you use windows 98
>>50298469
>4chan made because of world2ch>jp made because of overstuffed /a/>/a/ is now half shitty generals>/jp/ is dead>neo world2ch linked on /jp/it's gone full circle but downwards instead of upwardslike a boat with one oar paddling forward but it has a hole in it
been impressed by 5ch lately
>>50316470agreed, we need to see a resurgence of very lightly moderated imageboards, all of the stupid "apps" that 99% of the normie fools hang out on are retarded, reddit is cancerous too
>>50316601I haven't used Reddit in years (like 2015) so I just remembered all of the old R*ddit problems and retardation, I was on it the other day for Zomboid stuff and goddamn the only way you could choke me with more zoomers is if you shanghaied me into a middle school
>>50316601Opening a new image board is basically suicide thanks to bots out there looking to flood any image board with illegal shit. We're never getting the days of cozy 4chan alternatives for niche subjects and communities ever again.
>>50320129Tohno-chan is still around, though since I never used it much I don't know how alive it is. To my knoweldge it doesn't have that problem, though.
People have always posted CP, only now it's done by bots. There is no stopping it unless you're one of those imageboards that makes you get your post approved by the admin before its uploaded(retarded). w2ch does at least clean it up usually within an hour at most, which is faster than any of the other imageboards I've seen that get spammed. I think VPS providers are lenient since they know it is done by bots.
>>50320129>>50320306Some of them have managed to stop them with regex filters and custom captchas. Wap for example makes you name a bunch of anime characters before you can post, but i believe that captcha was added after the balding ms paint men site failed to raid them.It is possible to block the bots, the thing is that most imageboard owners don't try.
>>50320392This x 9001. Nobody bothers with actual mitigation. And yes it CAN be done.
>>50316694scary thing is Reddit of 2015 was 10000000000 times better than Reddit of today
>>50320129what are the actual laws on how fast something needs to be taken down when it is posted by a bot? You'd think it would be reasonable to have a one day turn around for moderation duties.
Kuso thread for a kuso website, very appropriate.
I like captchas to be very minimalist, preferably none at all but that would make an imageboard be a sitting duck. I don't like custom captchas or overly complicated ones when I can just ignore a cp post I see once or twice a month, so I guess I'm glad admins don't care. maybe its just me
>>50320600making posting too difficult ruins a board way more than undermoderation does
I keep getting 403 Forbidden errors on j2ch.
>>50320614Posting should be difficult. Imageboards and textboards were never meant to be chatrooms and the development of auto refresh, auto scrolling, and a mobile friendly view were the beginning of the end for this site.
>>503206222ch.sc is banned for gaijin IPs
>>50320631does Mullvad on japanese server work, or do they have the vpn servers banned too, can't even post on 4chan from Mullvad :(
>>50320546What would be a good thread for you?
>>50320999a thread that compares and recommends different imageboards would be good
>>50298469>catalog-less imageboardStraight into the trash, every time
>>50325358I hate the imageboards that make you click through links just to see the images
>>50325266It would literally just be shills vs stockholm syndrome tards
>>50327601I'm willing to give them a chance, worse that could happen is their board sucks so I won't go back, but if they are good then that is cool
>>50329016I fine with other sites too it's just (mainly on /jp/) a lot of tryhard newfags that get pissed at the mere mention of other sites (as if this board isn't basically a different board than it used to be with all the newfags, /v/fags, 3dfags, /vt/fags, etc. etc.)
>>50329058I'm*
>>50329058agreed, anyone that has been around and seen it during better days don't really have that much attachment to the current rendition and would gladly go somewhere else if it is better
>text boards>in year 2020+5
>>50332907>in year 2014 + 11ftfy
>>50332907if it filters out the generation raised on social media then it is a good filter
>>50332907I just wish moot didn't get rid of 4chan ones.
>>50334695moot wanted to keep them in read only mode, but then whoever was in charge between him and Hiro silently removed them for whatever reason.
>>50334750Doesn't matter anyway since complete world4ch archives are available somewhere else.I think they just couldn't find anyone to janny those, everyone cares about imageboards.
>>50298469Those sites are pretty dead
>>50336944pretty dead here too, the internet sucks lately and is getting worse
I'd prefer to just browse futaba.
>>50336944All the altchans are pretty slow
>>50337460where are all the people then? have they all moved to normal social media?
>>50320392Wap has actually done a really good job in making a captcha that doesn't feel arbitrary & looks cool. Also they give you a cookie that lets you post for a while afterwards so it's really not that intrusive.
>>50344291yes, most people using phones and never go outside of their stupid apps
wish we would bring back the days of lots of focused independent forums and webpages, sadly I think a lot of the newer generation don't even know how to find and go to websites, reddit needs to go away
>>50344291gacha generals
>>50357503Blame search engines for the way they're optimized. It used to be easier to find niche information and now general information is fed to us along with ads for the most popular sites. It's energy draining.
>>50363538for sure, and recently got much much worse with google giving AI responses at the top of searches, so they summarize websites information without giving them any traffic at all in return, soon all that will be left if AI feeding each other AI in an infinite loop of mediocrity
>>50366854What's worse is those answers aren't always correct. They could literally be feeding misinformation which could I don't know, get a person killed or flunk a test. You say they're feeding each other. Some say we're already at the beginning stages of a singularity.I don't trust them.
>>50366854>>50367091
>>50367121I legitimately can't tell if that was a trained response or if it wants us to off ourselves. This is how it starts.
>>50375866Yeah that's sadly where "AI" gets 99% of its information from
>>50362166I will never forgive gacha games or vtumors for what they've done to otaku culture.
>>50329058Surely you can still find a place to discuss what you like here, across 150 threads
>>50377457That and streamers.
>>50375878missed his delete, where do they get it? reddit?? (which is sad)
>>50363538I liked the old days before google where links from sites to other sites meant the fun of the search and not knowing what you could stumble on was so cool
>>50386350>not knowing what you could stumble onThat's what I'm missing the most. I've got old bookmarks to sites people just don't visit anymore and if I tried to use the same search terms to find them I'd likely wind up on some app or game.Back then we could find a random site and just dive in.
>>50386350>>50386772We need to go back to the age of web1.0
>>50386772You can still end up on "hop onto irc to discuss", but quite infrequently. At least most of the mailing lists are public.
>>50344291Yes, and also Discord.People blames reddit, but Discord put the nails on the coffin of forums. It has become a forum replacment since 2016.>>50357503>we shoud bing bac X n Y like zi ol' deyyzzShut the fuck up, they all still exist, (YOU) STOPPED caring about them.I'm sick of people repeating that same phrase ad nauseum. They never actually do research, and new ones that gets created are dead by the end of month because noone knows how to actually engage with it instead of putting larping banner signature, or creates the most try hard web 1.0 personal page on neocities.
>>50298469Unfortunately, 90% of IB or BBS that was created the past 5 years has been deader than /vip/. Even larper tictoc teens were not enough to maintain them a little bit alive.
>>50389429I try to participate but too many boards make it so hard to post on them
