I finished Side A maybe a month ago but then got totally sidetracked. I ended up messing around with modded DoL and playing Resident Evil instead. To be completely honest, Side A is all right even though I did enjoy it ultimately. The common route starts off strong but it’s nothing mindblowing with the writing. I love Tougo but I had difficulty getting behind with the rest desu. Madoka’s route had some good parts and Madoka himself wasn’t that bad (he had a very thoughtful motive as to why he’s an actor) but IMO the writing became a real mess especially towards the end where they just had to shove in his brother for a classic big misunderstanding that could have been resolved years ago. Rei was fun and had some great SoL scenes chained up Rei arc and the extra scenario where everyone was making fun of him for being a virgin is gold. Bless Tougo for always pushing his buttons. but the drama and all his issues unfortunately didn’t impact me as I thought it would. I guess it’s because I had somewhat high expectations for him since his route is unlockable and all the tsunderes I read about over the last several months gave me a way bigger impression. On the flipside, the protagonist’s development in Rei’s route was fairly satisfying compared to some of the other routes in Side A. IMO Reiwas more or less just Gou to me but treated way better with his characterization and route. Gou really seemed almost irrelevant by the end of it because of this. Final rankings are Bernardo>Ivan>Luchino>Giulio's bad endings>Giulio's route, which was a huge surprise to me since I remember Giulio being my favorite and hating Ivan when I was younger.This time around though, really liked Ivan and Gian's dynamic, he was much funnier to me for some reason as an adult, my one complaint though is that Gian was more tsun tsun the whole time, wish there were more dere dere moments from him towards Ivan. For Giulio, nowadays I don't care much for yanderes, not for moralfag reasons, I just think the whole "i'm the only one can keep this psychopath in control... they need me" is kinda cringe and not good writing, also this may be a hot take but I think Gian should have been the top in this route after the rape scene, it would've been hotter to see Giulio be grateful that his idol wants to put his dick in him. Probably would've made more sense for the characters too. As for Luchino, it was probably the least romantic route to me, I can buy Gian falling in love with him, but there were very few moments that convinced me Luchino was also falling for Gian, and not in it just for the sex. I also don't give a shit about his dead wife and daughter. Highlight of the route was at the end when Gian fucks Bakshi up, its one of the only moments in the game where he ends up saving the LI. Finally for Bernardo, man I usually hate it when characters are as retarded as he is, but for some reason it just worked with this route. Maybe it was the aspect of his character that was incredibly self-loathing, but I never got annoyed by the lack of communication to the other capos constantly causing issues. The romance was also fucking peak as well, and everything regarding Nastasha was great. It does bring up an overall complaint I have across the whole game in that i'm a sucker for taboo relationships specifically because I like seeing characters struggle with hiding their feelings for valid reasons, and despite the fact these are gay mafia members in 1930's America, that aspect is never really even acknowledged in any route. It was kind of leaned on in Bernardo's route with Nastasha, but a definite missed opportunity with Giulio, who's the heir to a prestigious family. I know a lot of people are tired of this trope though so it's probably a hot take. Overall it's a 9/10 for me, I can see why japanese fujos were sucking this game off for so long.Did any anons here play Bad Egg? I found the addon/fandisc scenario to be significantly more enjoyable than the base game. The notes are just more fun characters.

Neji has to relive this scene and save her to clear his consciousness. Then Shizuka comes and has a very homosexual swordfight with his twin Hikaru. Bad end Haruka tries to go to their original world with Neji, only to get caught by oniichan. He takes her to the underworld instead and locks her inside a cave until she starts acting like herself lol.Bittersweet-return end Goes back to the real world with Neji. Took me way longer than expected, but finally finished Nejis true end route. It was a bit repetitive, sure, but we actually got the info we needed, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have fun.Neji was a cutie and the other boys are too, but oniichan is absolutely going to be the kino route.Better avoid reading this if you’re planning to play the game. We go back in time right before Neji starts turning into an oni. Haruka remembers everything from the bittersweet ending, meaning they got yeeted through time again.Hikaru shows up like “last chance speedrun, don’t wake up Izanamis powers and stop wishing unless you want another L,” and basically tells them they need to fix everything by themselves amd not rely on Gods.In this timeline, Akira goes full schizo and doesn’t want his mommy to disappear.Neji says screw the track interhighs and follows everyone into the mountains to fight his oni AIDS curse. Things look stable… until Akira drags in some corpses, one of them being Haruka’s mom, and tempts Neji to eat them. Then Neji quite literally cannibalizes Haruka’s dead mother in front of her. He goes full oni, but Ace stops him with his magic bankai sword + Haruka’s power of love cheat buff. Neji gets his own bankai too. Blah blah, forest adventure ends, they prep to return to the real world. Neji stays over at Harukas place and oniichan is not very happy about it.Haruka wants to bring oniichan to the real world too and tells him everything. Oniichan goes “yeah I knew lol” and lies about being one of the Ikazuchi too.Neji tries to tell Haruka that her bro is sus af, but Haruka goes full “nooo oniichan is precious and kind uwu.”The others meet oniichan too and immediately clock him as suspicious, but don’t say anything to Haruka. Right before returning to the real world, Haruka gets a scam Microsoft executive phone call from the “police” saying they found her mom’s corpse and they need her to come to the station (it’s BS). Everyone falls for it and oniichan tags along.Then Neji suddenly remembers “wait… I ate Haruka’s mom literally nothing left how??” and everyone else goes “isn’t this Masato guy creepy af? how is he an Ikazuchi??” Shuuri remembers only 4 out of the 8 Ikazuchi survived and Neji recalls that Haruka’s real world brother is DEAD, so they sprint to save her.But....Akira’s cult members i assume ambushes them. Akira abducts them and starts beating the hell out of Shuuri (again) for no reason and then beats everyone else too while ranting about reviving Izanami mommy.Meanwhile, oniichan goes full chimp the moment Haruka spills a drop of water on her shirt and tells her she “belongs to him.” Haruka tries to run because he lost it.Blah blah, the Neji tachi escape, get caught, escape again for st least 3 times. Oniichan poisons Akira too. (Funny how Hikaru and Shizuka in this world literally dgaf and were too busy being gay for each other to help, so they just gave Masato whatever he wanted.)Blah blah, they go to the beach. Bad End Izanami having enough of their BS snaps, takes over Haruka’s body, and kills everyone, starting with oniichan kek, who tries to convince her Izanagi is inside him...too late she doesn't listen. Neji begs her to give Haruka back because he truly loves her, but he can’t hear Haruka anymore. Izanami actually pities him and tells him to obey her, so he becomes her follower in the real world. She can’t find Izanagi there and goes schizo, destroying the world and killing people. Neji, having lost it too laugh cries and Haruka can only watch helplessly from inside Izanami bc he can't hear her. True End + niichan lore drop During the swordfight with Neji and oniichan, Haruka remembers everything: Oniichan once took kid Haruka to the beach with a uni friend. The friend told her there was a dead whale inside a cave and lured her into the cave and raped her. Oniichan caught him and killed him but then snapped, victim blamed kid Haruka for “tempting” his friend, and repeatedly raped her too beside his friends corpse. A few days later, he committed suicide by slitting his throat aka why he wears the scarf.The trauma was so severe Haruka repressed the whole memory.This revelation breaks Haruka completely she starts losing control, calling herself dirty and unworthy of Neji, ready to destroy the world. Neji straight up slaps some sense into her and tells her she’s kind, strong, and that she doesn’t get to decide his feelings for him. Blah blah, they return to the real world. Years later, they watch Neji at the Olympics finishing 5th and telling the camera everything he does is for his precious gf.

But guess if you want oniichan to stay mysterious, save neji for later yeah.Shuuri is going to be fun too I got this feeling.
