Got everything but Kashi, Massachusetts and Honolulu but i'll get them on another occasion. Farming ZZ sounds like very unfun time
That was a close call. I went with a route-oriented comp that doesn't get air superiority on the boss. Hatsuzuki, Ryuho with one fighterbomber, Ise and Iowa with double attack, Hyuga as a figher mule. I chipped with tokai, and tried a couple runs with tokai on the boss, but switched to all bases to the boss with a skilled recon or taitei with 3 bombers and bonus stacking. Extra air base scratches on the main fleet helped bring them down enough to die in one touch hit. Getting a good Yamato touch at the start is key. Shelling support for the route, 3 OASW (single slot on Asashimo and Yahagi, and Shigure had her anime depth charge in the extra slot) with Mamiya and Irako used for sparkling, and 3 smoke generators (sometimes I got medium smoke with 3, and I chipped with 4). Not having superiority for the night scout hurt, since big crits in night battle can snipe the boss, but the route was the main challenge. If you're reading this 24 hours from now, air superiority on the boss with repair goddess spam to brute force the route should get things done very quickly.E4 and E5 were fun overall. Fewer unlocking gimmicks and a lot less redundant time wasting than previous events, more boss fighting action, and although debuffing looked insane on paper, a bunch of the steps were covered by just doing another boss run with the chipping comp plus extra fighters.

now that the event is over what do you think about the direction the game is going? you would think that with the game being this old it would be trying to retain as many players as it has left, but it seems like it's accelerating in the opposite direction and doing everything possible to alienate all but the most diehard fans. this was a "medium" scale event, but it had 14 tags and 16 boss gauges. the difficulty seemed to be lower than the last few events, but only because of mechanics like touch attacks and bingo multipliers which ask more and more from players in terms of collection and preparation. even seasonal quests now require specific ships and can't even be attempted if you don't have the right ones. on top of that quests now want highly upgraded equipment so you either have to spend dozens of screws or have done a previous quest locked behind an impossible to follow chain requiring numerous whogumo and whobuki roster checks.new ship additions are getting more and more questionable too. it's clear that they're scraping the bottom of the barrel for jap ships, but tanaka seems determined not to give people what they want for american ships too. yoshinori was supposed to be the headline burger artist, but his last new non-fish ship was atlanta 6 years ago. instead of giving us notable ships it seems like the only thing tanaka is interested in now is being given away to other countries. I will continue to play because of sunk cost, but I won't be enjoying it.

Christmas 5-5 quest is really easy if you do north route, not use why Zekamashi recommends middle route when you can north route and smoke preboss with Yamato touch.
