Took a break for a while there, but came back and finished up the all-age Tenshin Ranman. For the heroines in the original game, they mainly just extended a few date scenes, a bit more epilogue, and added some more CGs, so it's not terribly different in that department. The main reason to play this is for the new heroine, Wakaba, of course. Both of the new characters are pretty nice and integrate well into the common route. I thought Wakaba's route was one of the better ones in the game, and I liked that the central conflict was focused on MC himself and his 天罰. Made it a bit different than the others. Anyways, decent enough read and a nice way to close out the story on these characters for good.
>>50470661The fuck is she saying, I'm too dumb
Thanks to the guy that recommended penguindrum for the subahibiness a while ago. It was a nice watch, I'm not sure if I would say it's an exact subahibi equivalent though, it wasn't schizophrenic/horrorful enough but still a very nice watch. I doubt there's an anime with the same kind of scaji vibe
>>50470793glad you enjoyed it. if looking for the schizo aspect and interested in film, try love exposure by sion sono. his filmography is worth giving a try but the closest is probably love exposure. and there's also inio asano manga. i think most of his stuff is worth reading, not just punpun
>>50470861Will absolutely check that. I had seen some clips of love exposure before but not the whole thing. Being as you are quite cultured do you have any vn recs based on haibane renmei? It's my favorite anime of all time and would love to find similar media. Or if anyone else knows for that matter. I've tried to find similar stuff in anime and even literature but to no avail.

>>50472080I agree. There's a very fine line before yuri transitions into gross lesbian porn.Proclaiming undying love to each other: Pure, yuriKissing on the lips: Gross, not yuriPeople who don't agree don't understand yuri.

>>50471592I wouldn't read Chusingura for the ero, it's decent enough but there's not a lot of it and it's VERY spread out in a very long game. Also all the bestiality scenes are short gag scenes and not actual h-scenes.
>>50472351I don't know about that I just want to be a cute little girl and get gently penetrated by the hands of another cute but dominant girl, preferably taller than me

Words Worth was kind of what I was looking for. I always wanted something where the MC was a retard and everyone treated him like one. I'm enjoying it, I just got to the light side.
>>50474159is it really 30h long?
>>50474163It depends on how long the chapter two of the game will be, but if it's the same length as chapter one it should be more like 22-23 hours, probably slightly longer, so let's say 25h. It's more like a Doukyuusei type game, there's not a full on plot, much of the time is spent finding your way around the dungeons and slashing enemies and solving the puzzles, like trying to meet the characters in Doukyuusei. So give it a try when you're in the mood for that.
>>50474181i will play it next year once i reach 1993
>>50473566I wish he'd set an example before that.
>>50472874I only played it for a few hours, all the way back when it released, and I wasn't paying attention to the difficulty of the language at all - but I would say that it was probably more or less average. I agree with >>50473098, you're probably better off dodging Scatji and other intentionally obtuse works for a while but if you managed Manosaba then you should be able to read just about everything you want, even obtuse works. They would be painful but all you need to do is enjoy it more than you are irritated by the complexity of the language.

Which staff role is responsible for sprite animations/changing expressions/all the visual + auditory creative stuff that happens on screen? Is it 演出・スクリプト?
>>50475109I know Qruppo has their scenario writers do a bunch of it but I'm not sure that's the case for all companies.
>>50475109Isn't it both? 演出 plans the scene while スクリプト implements it into the code. That's like asking whether the game designer or programmer makes the game. Also, the guy above me said it but more often than not they're the same people.

Kageaki isn't making difficult, tragic choices; he is a robot following a magical flowchart. Real depth comes from organic consequences, not a supernatural plot device that forces drama by gunpoint.>Lazy NihilismThe game's stance that "all justice is just murder" isn't profound; it’s intellectual cowardice. By treating self-defense and fascism as morally equivalent because "both use swords," the story avoids taking any real stance. It’s "enlightened centrism" for people who think apathy is maturity.>Bloat as a Substitute for SubtextNarahara is incapable of "show, don't tell." The game pauses the action constantly to lecture the player on the themes because the writing fails to convey them naturally. Strip away the grimdark aesthetic and the 20-minute monologues, and Kageaki is just a generic, overpowered harem protagonist who wins fights with secret moves—he just whines more while doing it.

muramasa isn't supposed to be some kind of philosophical argument. you read it for the main character, who is a whiny and violent faggot. it's not a vn you can enjoy if you're not a whiny and violent faggot yourself. its morality and philosophy aim to be sole aesthetics. hanachirasu is more subtle and coherent in narrative messaging

>>50478334I finished Ie no Kagi a few days ago. It was a little disappointing. I was hoping for something more twisted based on the premise, but it ended up being a pretty unremarkable thriller that happened to focus on darker social topics. I enjoyed the characters though, and the writing wasn't bad. Some fun scenes and funny passages. The occasional bit of chemistry trivia was nice too. But I probably would've enjoyed it more if it were longer and actually had H scenes. There were perfect moments for it too, like the scene where Rika was forced to strip naked and fondle the protagonist's balls by a bunch of yakuza as part of a body search. Maybe they thought it would be counterproductive when they were trying to make a point about pedophilia and lolicon? Still a big missed opportunity considering they had MUK doing the art. It didn't go far enough, but it wasn't awful, just fine. Sweet ending too.
