Get up already...
Good riddance, dogshit general.
Hi /fumo/ frens. Tonight I enlisted Lain's help in fixing up my Note 9 phone. She didn't really want to be bothered but she showed up for emotional support, which is good because I hate tearing into this thing.I've dropped my phone a million times so now the rear camera's broken. First thing's ejecting the SIM/micro SD tray, which also has a backup in case this goes poorly and I need to load migrate into a new phone. I made Lain a sandwich while we waited for the glue on the rear panel to soften up.
The back came off far easier than it did the first time, I guess the adhesives on this aftermarket back panel are noticeably weaker than the original. After a lot of screws, many ribbon cabels, and a lot of manhandling the old camera's out and the new one staged for install. As well as a new back panel, since I didn't realize the old one was cracked because it was in my phone case.
Following some reassembly and plenty of worrying if weird black marks on connectors were caused by me being too rough or if they were already there, the phone's all back together. Leaving the back panel off we boot it up to test eveything works right, and thankfully it all does! Even the front camera works just as normal; there was a little mishap during disassembly where some of the adhesive that kept the front camera in pllace tore improperly and covered its lens and the cutout for it above the screen, but that cleaned up fine with a little isopropyl.Lain volunteered to model for a few photos so I could make sure the pictues came out right. Hopefully I never have to do that again, but given how old the phone is and my history of dropping it all the time it's almost inevitable that the screen iself is gonna crack at some point. Whether or not I just replace the screen or migrate to a spare phone depends entirely on how much it costs to buy a replacement screen; replacement batteries aren't that expensive, the back panels are like $12 on Amazon, and a brand new rear camera was only $8 including shipping, so I'm comfortable enough replacing parts rather than buying new.
>>50472731>>50472744>>50472761I thought Lain was a boy. Either way, she looks cute.
>>50472731>>50472744>>50472761Very nice work anon. Glad Lain could help. My dolls helped clean out the dead grass and dead bugs out of a yard sale NEC CRT. They mostly just watched but overall we had a good time.
>>50474691Patchy looks like this sort of repair is beneath her. I bet she could fix old mainframes with nothing but a screwdriver and capton tape.
>>50472731>>50472744>>50472761biblically-accurate Lain stare
For once, my cat decided to be friendly to Mannaka Reimu; usually, she doesn't seem to go near her much, if at all.

>>50485329I should buy a little tabletop tree. One of the fake ones so I can keep it in a box for the future.
