yeah I've been thinking about it myself. so far I've seen the best success when either using it in the middle of the pack to block amulets/knives, or at difficult parts of the track so that I can take those sharp turns without needing to switch off of my low-drift racer.

I wish it was possible to switch off my characters in the ranked lobby. I kinda wanna start doing random ones, but I don't feel like leaving and rejoining every time

we've used a few different methods over the months, including qualifiers and playoffs and finals, but typically, I think scoring goes something like
-1st place gets 10 points
-2nd place gets 8 points
-3rd place gets 6 points
-4th place gets 4 points
-5th place gets 3 points
-6th place gets 2 points
-7th place gets 1 point
I might be wrong on the exact point bonuses, though. anyway, when we've done qualifiers (before the normal races), we typically did a system in which we add up everyone's times and then only allow the top 7 fastest racers to compete. and then when we've done playoffs, we did an elimination bracket of 1v1 races (best of 3). in the last tournament, we kinda did something different, in which the fastest racers in each lobby (we had two) were all put into one lobby and raced repeatedly, eliminating the player in last place until we had only three left, and then the last three racers did one last race for the championship.
...all that being said, our rules change often, so it's best to just wait until the tournament and see what the host says we're doing this time!

adding @ to the beginning of the lobby name will make the host a spectator. sadly, it's not possible for anyone but the host to spectate the race, so he better stream it on youtube or something if he wants others to see it.
