Byakuren got sealed away 1000 years agoByakuren is a practitioner of Shingon Buddhism How would she react to the new types of Buddhism that appeared in Japan while she was sealed away such as Nichiren, Jōdo-shū, Jōdo Shinshū, Sōtō Zen, Shugendō, Shingon Risshu, Shinjō Itō, Tachikawa-ryū, Shinnyo-en, Agon-shu and Gedatsu-kai etc. As well as by the Meiji era anti-buddhist persecutions known as haibutsu kishaku (abolish Buddhism and destroy Shākyamuni)?

I always assumed she was sealed away like 200 years ago, when Youkai were on the decline.
