>>50643961>>50645945Amazing. Did he say it was his last thread or did just suddenly stop or fade away? I rememeber there used to be two different threads. There was a Morning Musume thread then there was a Hello! Project thread, aka "The Kids" threads when all those other groups were filled with members on the average younger than Morning Musume. Then all of a sudden the Berryz members were older than most of Morning Musume.
>>50653582https://warosu.org/jp/thread/48288743#p48525937I thought it was his last here, based off this comment, but there was another one in last october, so idk. It seemed to be one lone anon though.
Teka sounds like something that'd play during a phone advertisement, Tsunku should go back to old school arrangements
gangsta
how would you describe the personalities of these newer girls? any defining raits?
>>50659576I think Panda Chan on the left is rememberable, cute, and she has personality. She has more of that golden era energy and I could see her fitting in with 4th or 5th Gen. She always seems to catch my eye when in a group. They need more eccentric characters like that. Hopefully the next era after mass graduations will bring in more interesting talent. But I am also a bit pessimistic because even if they get an ace girl, the office will probably waste her on crappy songs and stale outdated styling or not promote her much. Does H!P even promote itself anymore to a general audience? No billboards or anything. Its practically an underground idol group now in terms on current public awareness. Throw in a hafu or a girl from some remote super culturally isolated part of Japan thats totally out of her element. It would be entertaining to see how different they act and think. I like Chel who lived in Alabama before and can speak English. Throw in a Japanese Brazilian or Japanese girl who lived overseas or an exotic part of the world. Maybe one member from Hawaii. I would even risk getting an ex delinquent.Bring back the orignal concept of Morning Musume that it can accept a girl from any walk of life or background. If to join is your dream and you work hard you can get in. Give out a few Golden Tickets, and let some rando female fans, ra dom school girl, or wannabe idols have a shot and have people watching to see if she will crash and burn or not.
So why weren't Hello!Project and other groups' songs on streaming until now? What were they thinking?
>>50662048>https://helloproject.com/news/20055/the only reason i jumped from spotify to apple music was because it seemed like h!p was officially on there. i liked spotify. maybe i'll go back if the music is everywhere now.
DARK rosy chronicleshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxro0MmaQBw
>>50662048Fax machines...>>50661491Yamazaki (Panda), Rairii and Getta are immediately recognizable. It does feel that H!P has given up on expanding for a little while now. I agree about hiring from the public, that egg/ kss stuff was a mistake. Some of the best members came from poor families too. Feels gross when favour to rich families is that transparent, there are subtler ways to have plants. Marketing wise having girls from really different backgrounds sounds interesting.
The chorus from inspiration still goes crazy
>>50662299almost sounds like a powermetal song at times
>>50662299Someone in management probably saw his granddaughter watching that netflix Wednesday show lol
>>50662319The office got traumatized because of kago. She came from a broken house and she acted the part. She turned out to be a scandal magnet. The office thinks hiring girls like that is real risky. But on the other side of that coin you also get Tsuji who came from modest household. She had supportive family. Goto Maki also came from a struggling single parent household after her dad died only about a few years before she got into Morning Musume. But the other side of Maki was Yuuki who ended up in prison for 5 years. So the office is scared on brining on girls from sketchy or more working class households now.Lol Risa Nigaki was a failed subtle plant. It came out pretty early that her family knew someone high up at upfront. That's why she had a lot of haters when she first joined. Including me. But she earned her place in the group and she became a great personality and dynamic. Her family is rich though and you could see glimpses of her nice upper class family from her YouTube channel.
>>50662553Niigaki is a good example of it being done well she only got caught because she'd already done some showbusiness stuff a year before joining momosu.
>>50663122Your probably right about gaki. I think having a blatant rich girl in the group would be interesting. Like don't even hide it. Drum up the narrative thats shes shamelessly rich. Then pair her with the most poor lower class member lol. That would be fun to watch.Back in the golden era they would create little narratives or archetypes that each member represented. Maki said when she first joined they made her the "Young Mistress" character and Abe as "The Good Wife". She hated that image. Then she gets caught cheating when she grew up lol. She IS the sexy mistress character. Modern Maki is exactly the type of woman a man would cheat on his wife for.Maki did say before that the biggest differences between golden era Morning Musume and modern Morning Musume is that the golden era Morning Muusme felt like a public school with all the assorted characters. Modern Morning Musume is like an all girls private school.
I read somewhere that Yoshizawa would start a youtube channel, but this was like, three years ago.
I am sorry thread. I posted here like 15 years ago saying that I go to Japan and marry Eririn. I did not do that.
this entire thread is 2 posters
>>50663537That might be fun>>50664439She married the bump of chicken guy like 2 years ago, probably not the worst case scenario.>>50664830being charitable, we're like 4-6
>>50664348What would she call it? Xxx_Hitomi_xxX? FaZe_Yossie?? Yoshizawa Gaming??? I know she's on the record for hating computer types, but I think her personality which lended poorly to solo success would do well on that type of medium.
>>50665661>She married the bump of chicken guy like 2 years agoI'm happy for her then. Wishing her the best.
>>50662048They are always behind the curve. They have so many songs they could have opened a 24/7 YouTube streaming channel like lo-fi girl and be raking in that cash and gain more exposure, but they have a hard time thinking outside the box.
>>50664830Half of H!P's current Fandom what do you mean.
>>50666503I don't follow HP anymore. I'm hanging here for nostalgia.
>>50667892Honestly there's not much to follow on modern H!P as its mostly all filler. I follow some of The OGs though like Maki, Fujimoto, and Tsuji. Tsuji's daughter Noa just did a video where Tsuji gave her the same hair style she used to have in Morning Musume. Noa looks so much like her mother at the same age unsurprisingly lolhttps://youtu.be/HiASWVpFEfE?si=lVBTC66hUtBb2-2g
>>50668459>Mother's face hidden>Those clawsThe video idea had so much potential.
>>50665670I want to watch Yossy be an alcoholic Stacy jock jerk going around and punking anime nerds, loser video gamers, laughing at lame cosplayers, challenging herbivore men to random sports (and winning) and a moment of cringe from revieweing ex morning musume member's videos of dancing on tiktok. A segment in each video with her complaining how stupid wota dances look and how the entire Otaku culture is immature, especially foreigner jpop weebs and idol fans. Then she ends it with a shot of her favorite whisky. She used to be a yoga instructor so start off every video with 5 minutes of yossy in tight spandex doing yoga and a review and selection of her favorite hard alcohol of the day.
>>50668479>A segment in each video with her complaining how stupid wota dances look and how the entire Otaku culture is immatureThere's a bit of Ishikawa and Koharu in here
>>50668688And Rika was right. H!P hasn't had any real beautiful high status girls like her in a long while. H!P got a reputation for being lame and attracting loser wota fans and the talent itself is now made up of weird socially unpopular mid girls that can sometimes semi sing. Sure they get a cute and attractive girl like Panda Chan every once in a while but no high status girl with good genes wants to join.Under Rika's shell of her little cute Burikko act, shes a Stacy.
>>50668459It'll be interesting to see what Noa accomplishes, I remember hearing she had some entertainment ambitions. It looks like a pretty laid back family.
>>50669324But also a very based family. They taught her early on about how to deal with internet haters, avoiding shady scandal magnets(like Kago), but also that family and having kids is very important. I remember a few years ago when she was starting to go into a tomboy trans stage(copying other zoomer influencers), but her father outwardly didnt like her masculine style and put an end to it. She became really feminine afterwards(the correct path). Already her mood and demeanor is far more advanced and confident compared to most wanna be idols the same age. She's like a real princess.
>>50668459Ah yes, my wife follows Tsuji on insta and she showed me a photo of Noa dressed like her mom, I think it was a Minimoni outfit. I thought it was an old photo of Tsuji, the resemblance was uncanny.
>>50669670Heh my wife was the one who showed me about Noa doing Tsuji's style. Its nice having a wife that also hearts the Golden Era.Unrelated, but did anyone watch Maki's karaoke videos?https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uaE7Psu93Cg
>>50669393Tsuji's husband sounds based. Iirc she asked him out a few times before they started dating.
My God Ogawas channels is boring af
Reina's tiktok skills surpass Momosu's marketing team at this point. Sasuga Reina.
>>50671899They should hire Reina to be Morning Musume's marketing team.
>>50671724It is. But also its target demographic is older Japanese males. She really isnt that interesting of a person personality wise. Eripyon has a similar target demographic, but shes more talented than Ogawa and a little younger.
love hello project, but I couldn't care less what these girls are doing now or who they're married to. im stuck in the past and thats ok with me. reina is still 16-17 in my eyes.
>>50673022I wish Reina was real.
>>50673022Current Hello! Project drama is fun to talk about on long road trips with someone else who also knows about them. Assuming your not a lonely wota with no friends or doesn't have a significant other that also likes H!P.
>>50673022Same, i wish i could've watched the group at its peak
>>50673523>have a significant other that also likes H!P.My wife asks me why I don't go back to HP, because they sound better than the seiyuu idols lives that I put in the TV.It's not the same anymore. I don't know any of the current girls.YouTube did recommend me More! Mi amore though.

>>50675836anons who don't like the newer era: did you like c-ute?
yes I still enjoy c-ute content daily
>>50676128My wife liked them. I didn't at all. I only just now started warming up to them. Mostly because I came to like Airi Suzuki. I hated the kids groups in the 2000s and I blamed them for a declining Morning Musume as Tsunku started focusing on Berryz and C-ute and giving them the better songs. Also berryz was blatant wota lolicon food when they first came out which also helped turn off Hello! Project to mainstream popularity furthering the decline. After Hello! Project lost normal mainstream fans, they started catering to lonely old wotas as their bread and butter audience and income.
I wasn't really a C-ute fan but I loved Berryz. Frankly, they had some of the best songs. I love Momochi so I'm extra biased tho
>>50676153this but byuden
>>50676128Back then? I hated HP Kids, I even split the thread so the kids wota would leave the Musume thread, which I started too. With time I came to appreciate Cute and Berryz.
>>50676944>>50677168That's pretty much my arc lol. Hated both berryz and all the kids. I ended up liking Momochi as a character. Started listing to some of the songs after they disbanded. They were better than most current H!P acts. Both in members and songs. The Office really should hire ex members from defunct H!P groups as instructors or mentors for training the new gens. Even on a part time basis. There's so many ex members H!P could have a different ex member mentor and teach these new girls every day of the month.
wow suddenly a c-ute fan
>>50677168I wasn't a fan back then, the idea of young kids being idols is a little uncomfortable, now that they're grown up it's completely fine.
>>50676057Yeah but Reina isn't real.
>>50673655>>50673672Honestly, its easier to watch new Golden Era stuff now then it was back then. YouTube didnt even exist during the Golden Era so you either had to watch it live on TV or download every individual low quality file from shady websites or p2p programs(even worse). Half the time being a fan during the later years of the Golden Era was spent complaining about Tsunku's decisions and if the new song was good or not. After Maki and the sub groups were announced to end in September 2002, there was a feeling of doom and gloom as we could all sense H!P and morning musume had hit its peak and it was downhill from here. One by one each one of there shows or their appearances got canceled. I still remember when it was shocking to hear that Morning Musume didnt get invited to Kōhaku Uta Gassen for the first time in years. We all knew they were on the way out. Also the fandom changed. It went from a general audience, a lot of dudes, and young girl fans to just mostly creepy older male wotas. It was mostly that way until around 2010(or 2011) when it started to change a little with Riho and the new gen. I had read H!P got a influx of younger female fans after japanese girls got tired of listening to Perfume and started listening to Hello! Project. Many became fans of Riho. Watching those Utaban eps in real time though or soon after they aired was fun though. We'd be talking about those Kei Yusada Utaban eps or the hijinks Tsuji and Kago did. Super funny at the time. For a time Morning Musume was everywhere. And that was a cool feeling seeing how loved they were and you could meet random Morning Musume fans pretty much everywhere. Nows is almost an underground idol group that feels old fashioned and left behind, but the old hits keep on hitting. Still a great a great legacy.
>>50673672Does your wife know or like old H!P?
>>50676128For me the Berryz & C-ute were the thing. After Two Top graduated from the MM, I personally started to lose the intrest. Not over the night, but it did start the downhill.Berryz and C-ute had way more better releases at that time. They were interesting as songs, IMO. Actually I only liked the songs and didn't care really about their TV-appereances etc. The core of the jp entertaiment industry seem to be tho overly scripted shows and kids don't really go as well as adults in those situations. Hence I sort of faded out the non-musical stuff.Of course the good things must come to an end. All jp idols' records seem to only last three full releases. I don't know if the personell writing the songs changed or what, but the song quality dropped quite drasticly as the years went by. That being said, I personally think that H!P's greatest top20 main group songs come from Berryz/C-ute/W -triangle.
>>50678147From a new fans perspective, you might say that the quality of output peaked in 2004, so this is funny to hear.
If only Tsunku could stop writing electronic fart music....
>>50678819Its sort of like the OT star wars versus prequels. At the time all the boomer fans hated the prequals. Looking back on, they were a lot better than people at the time judged. Especially compared to the sequal trilogy. Looking back on it, 2003-2005 Morning Musume was really solid. It was the post Golden Era, post Maki, post sub units, post DanceMan, age where they were on TV almost every day and their music sales were hitting top charts every release.Compared to the EDM slop released later on, the 2004 post golden era was still part of the Golden Era and full of great classics.
>>50679359Tsunku himself vetted this timeline of eras in 2020>during a Morning Musume special episode of Konya Kurabete Mimashita, Tsunku appeared as a guest and officially confirmed the timeline
>>50678155Yes, she listens to what I listen so she listened to almost everything up to the platinum era. From the old discography she likes Morning Coffee and Memory Seishun no Hikari.>>50678147I was a heavy wota on around 2007. I remember Doooh!Up with 360p PVs, going to Hello!Online for torrents and looking for old Hello!Morning episodes in different video hosting sites. I think I watched every episode that I could find, translated or not. I even installed some 2ch browser to interact with the Japanese.I remember that I gradually lost interest around the Shouganai Yume-oibito single.>For a time Morning Musume was everywhereMy wife made friends with a Japanese woman and she was surprised that Morning Musume still existed.>RihoShe appeared on TV in an English teaching program on NHK a few months ago.And regarding the female fans, we went to a concert in 2017, I think it was Haruka's graduation where a few OGs came back. Tsuji, Ai, Sayu and someone else I'm forgetting. Around half of the audience were women if my memory doesn't fail me.
