It's rare for them to have a distinctive or powerful voice. I even find Ado's voice (which I know is not like that) to be an acquired taste. BEMA, RIM and Ryugasaki Rene is an easy example of that.
>>50681117I think you just dont know enough about utaite, because they really don't have a specific vocal type. Asmi is not an utaite because she did not start her career by posting covers, nor are they integral to who she is as an artist. But as a whole, this thread does engage with a lot of the various counter culture, internet culture based, otaku core music (not limited to strictly utaite and vsingers), so it is on topic. In the case of Asmi, she is working with artists like meiyo and maisondes who are prominently featured as songwriters for such singers. Additionally, some artists that get picked up for covers a lot have naturally become thread regulars. I'd say the event that is the best representation of this threads tastes is probably something like YouTube Music Weekend (rather than say, vocaduo or utacolle).
