I realize it's not art, but holy fuck am I glad that all my shader spaghetti finally works like it should. 2D and 3D areas are clearly separated and don't conflict anymore, so I can do cool effects on the background without worrying about the 2D elements like before (e.g. the water reflection reflecting transparent stuff in front of it). Took me a whole day of experimenting to find the right solution, but it works and I'm super happy.

>>50776700Maybe for acrylic paint, but the actual real stuff is made from powdered glass, so it needs to be heated in a kilm or oven to properly adhere it. Plus the quality brushes needed to actually made good lines was a surprisingly high expense and didn't seem worth it since I knew I was moving anyway. Here's as far as I got. Pretty scuffed. I really don't like the hair. My original idea was to have it mismatched like the body, but perhaps I should have just elected to use a few large pieces of swirled/gradient glass instead. I actually remade it twice but wasn't particularly happy either time. It's a bit embarrassing posting something I think is crappy, so that's why I've not been active really...

I'd probably have used three pieces of glass and put in the white lines that go against the black of the bow.Obviously I'm not that anon, but I am a stained glass guy (calling me an artist would be a stretch). The bottom half in >>50776678 (the silvery parts) are soldered lead cames and the upper half is copper foil. I expect going off of the fact that I can't see any solder joints that the head is mostly copper foil too, but I might be wrong because this anon is a much cleaner solderer than I am. For lead, after you solder the whole thing (and cement it for stability and waterproofing, but I guess that's not strictly necessary depending on where you put it or what you're doing with it) you polish it with a black polish which buffs up nicely. Not 100% sure on the process for copper foil, but most of my work was with lead.Anyway, >>50776741, it's still a pretty impressive piece and I commend the effort you put into it.
