Belated Cataurday Edition.

▶What is this?
/egg/ — Era Games General; also known as the “Era Games Thread”.
Era games are a group of (usually) Japanese-developed text porn games.
They’re not exclusively related to the Touhou franchise, but it’s one of the series with the most Era games.

▶Games usually discussed here
eraTohoTW — Comfy Touhou dating simulator with time stop shenanigans.
eraTohoK — Tactical game about conquering Gensokyo through any (absolutely any) means.
eraMegaten — Dungeon crawler based on the Shin Megami Tensei series, with tons of characters from other series (Fate, Touhou, Madoka, etc) included.

▶Useful Links
Guides and downloads for all Era games. For TW you should get the eng-development version, eng-release is several years old.

▶How to play?
Run anchor.exe (or Emuera, depending on the game), Japanese locale is advised so you don’t run into untranslated text.
If you wish to manually update, delete old files aside the sav and dat folders to avoid any bugs.

▶Tips
If you’d like to either edit or add your own portraits, the files are located within the ‘resources’ folder in webp format. You can use paint.net to edit them.

some really weird thing happens when I use the emulator for -kaja. The thing says that every demon in COMP gets a raise (and I guess every character in your current party) but as you can see in the screenshot it's calling for a shitton of my characters and for some reason the last ones pictured (pairika x 4 and obaryion x 2) are the enemy party. No they didn't get a raise tho... and SOMETIMES I get the following error

Does anyone have the names of some cardable Physical Element attacks in eraMegaten?
I have the name of some like Cauterizing Fist, Fujin Strike and Thor's Hammer
But some in this list

It sometimes doesn't say if the skill is physical, Icicle is physical for example

>Anon, you've heard of 'limestone' before, right ?
>It is a common type of sedimentary rock, which is a type of rock that is built up over a long period of time by the formation of minerals or the accumulation of organic matter...
>But interestingly, limestone itself can be formed from either of those !
>Limestone can be formed when there is a lot of calcium that is dissolved in water...
>Over time, environmental changes to the water may force some of those calcium to separate and sink to the bottom, eventually forming a layer of limestone.
>Alternatively, it can also be formed when things like corals and molluscs die and their remains pile up over a long period of time...
>This is apparently because their shells and skeletons contain a lot of calcium...
>Which explains the number of fossils that are discovered in limestone formations !
>I've heard that humans find limestone very useful...
>They use it primarily as building materials, but apparently it can also be used on their farms and to make metals...?
>The Great Pyramids are apparently made out of limestone bricks, which makes me want to see them even more !

So I decided to restart my run in eraUma and instead of focusing on one umamusume, decided to take on multiple. Especially if the ones with special dialogue/endings don't have conflicting 'character tasks' (e.g. get 1st place in the Arima Kinen in a specific year). For simplicity's sake, I went with at least 2 umamusumes per 'year'.

Having played one 'cycle' (get a umamusume to 'graduation' after their 3rd/Senior year), I guess it's okay? Even if on roughly Normal difficulty, the two that graduated ended up with 1200 in all stats and like 18 upgraded skills. As far as the umamusume raising simulator goes, it does do an alright job at it, and emulates the racing part well. I just wished that it had more in-game help stuff, like what certain functions do and a more detailed guide on things. The only help/guide it really has is those 'post-its', which for most of them, I assume you need to know or at least have played the mobile game to be familiar with who and what they're referring to. Or are they simply referring to some of the characters' individual special tasks you could do to get their character-specific title (e.g. sending Goldship to a French racecourse)? Then there's the hidden stuff like what I assume are the Three Goddesses themselves that you can get affection for, as well as 'hidden characters' (helpers) that show up if you complete certain races, and the whole Variable Triple Crown and Triple Tiara thing that is from the game and real life that you'd have to look up as there are no references to it in-game.

Then there's the sexy stuff, which is also okay, but feels buggy as heck. The game tracks where the lips and hands of each person is 'on' (e.g. lips on breasts, right hand on breasts, etc.), but you can't seem to 'remove lips/hand from body part' once you've done so. If a body part is 'busy', they can't be interacted with, so you can lock yourself out of certain actions from doing so. Though lips/hands 'persist' on body parts, they don't function like Continuous Actions you see in K games either, so they're 'there' but also do nothing while there if you aren't specifically choosing those actions? So if you say fingered someone, your finger is still 'in there', but because you chose to 'caress breast', you just leave said finger in there without doing anything further while caressing breast (thus no V-related gains). Not to mention that the options also change based on actions done, but often their location isn't 'updated' right away unless you go into Player/Target Info and back. Unless it's the built-in Google Translate thing interfering with all that.

tldr; eraUma isn't too bad as a usamusume raising game, but you have to reference external Umamusume wikis/guides for stuff, even things like 'how to build a basic End Closer horse'. As a porn game, it's only decent if you can get over the buggy UI mess it can be.

I guess the Fallen Demon skill was too much when it already has [Attack Mastery lvl3]
>>
You can actually get both male and female Demifiend by Contracting one of them over, though that's pretty much a standard thing when it comes to eraMegaten anyway. Gotta get'em all! Too bad this often leaves no space for normal demons to exist in your 'collection' at all, if you also include EX unique characters.

>Too bad this often leaves no space for normal demons to exist in your 'collection' at all, if you also include EX unique characters.

Meh, filling out the entry in the Compendium is good enough for me in that regard. You only really need to contract most of the human characters and those demons you can't buy from the Compendium, along with your long-term projects and moneymaking workforce (the groups often overlap).

Once you're established enough to have a reliable income stream going even across NG+ cycles, you'll have the luxury of buying normal demons from the Compendium whenever you wish. Not as satisfying as a Living Pokédex, I know, but compromises have to be made.
>>
>>50749477
What is the max number of allies you can have in storage? Im guessing either less than one thousand or infinite but the games gets bugger or something
>>
>>50749489
Due to limitations of the era engine, I think it was 400 or so. It was a very specific number - having more than that would cause the game to start lagging badly. It was to such that eraMegaten would pretty much disallow characters and demons from joining you once you hit the number just before it (399, if the 'cap' was 400). It'd just say that the character failed to join due to the character limit - which can include characters given to you due to quest chain and/or choices made. It won't even put them into 'temporary storage' or ask if you want to replace an existing character with them if you are already at the 'cap'.

I think you can go over the cap, but you have to go into the files to force it. Or at least that's the case with eraMegaten - I think other eras like eraBlueResort can also eventually get to that range with the Residential Areas fully unlocked and such, but has no such cap in place.
>>
>>50749599
I could've sworn i had at some point over 500 in storage at some point when filling the compendium
>>
>>50749599
>I think you can go over the cap, but you have to go into the files to force it. Or at least that's the case with eraMegaten

I'm playing the latest version of eraMegatenP and I currently have 414 characters in my roster right now. I am suffering no lagging or crashes.

I dunno about having more than a thousand, however.
>>
>>50749645
>>50749670
I was trying to remember off the top of my head but it was very low I guess. But that limit definitely is there in eraMegaten, because I remember hitting it prior to being able to NG+ in one of the past cycles, and it definitely wasn't 1000.

I remember having done a post more precise in the past to explain why the other Dracostrikes had their places but it was a long time ago.
Fire Breath, Pyroclastic Tempest, Cauterizing Fist, Flame Fang, Boisterous Fire Dance, Hot Wing, Might Burning, Exploding Claw, Eight-head Fire Breath, Hellburst, [Tsurube-Otoshi Apparition], [Hell of 1000 Needles], [Scorched Mandala]
Cauterizing First is the strongest Fire Physical skill, with 400 Power for 18MP.

Ice Breath, Icicle, [Lingering Cold].
[Lingering Cold] is the strongest Ice Physical Skill, with 225 Power for 11MP.

Electric Shock, Stun Shot, Thunderbolt, Thor Hammer, Spark Bolt, Blitz Rain, Hell Lightning, [Thundercloud Stickleback]
Thor Hammer is the strongest Elec Physical Skill, with 320 Power for 17MP.

Sonic Mover, Reppu Strike, Fuujin Strike, Phonon Breath, Sonic Boom, Sonic Boom, [Charged Yahoo].
Fuujin Strike is the strongest Force Physical Skill, with 400 Power for 14MP.

Poison Breath... That's it for Nerve Physical Skill. it's kind of shit.

Mega Strike... That's also is for Mind Physical skill. It 400 Power for 31MP. If the user is inflicted with an ailment, it spread to adjacent oes.

Divine Shot, Divine Blow, Light Spear, Light Blast, God's Hand, White Dracostrike.
White Dracostrike is the strongest Light Physical Skill with 440 Power for 25MP.
(Meanwhile the japs are too busy ruining the game or adding mostly useless stuffs to add the other Dracostrikes, even when I fucking made them.)

Domudi, Death Breath, Petra Breath, [Night Bird]. Wouldn't recomend any of them.

Earthbreak, Gaiabreak, Dragon Quake, Quake.
Quake is theorically the strongest Earth Physical skill with 500 Power for for 40MP. But it does party wide damage, which can easily backfire, so thank you game, but I'll stick to Earthbreak, which is the weakest but at least it's not costy, lower defense, and won't ruin my day.

Mizukiri, [Kappa's Pororca]
Mizukiri does 300 row damage for 15MP, and [Kappa's Pororca] does 215 single damage for 8MP.

Killer Wind, Wind Dance (for some reason), Zantetsu Wave, [Guerrilla Typhoon]
[Guerrilla Typhoon] is the strongest, except if you want to play RNG, or are against a single thing, then use Wind Dance.
Oh but [Guerrilla Typhoon] does both Wind AND Water damage.

Gravity Mine, Dark Spear,
Dark Speak is the strongest. Two 160Power hits for 15MP.

Nuclear Missile, Flash Bomb.
Nuclear Missile, 420 Power for 28MP. Technically, there is Nova Cizer and Dark Nova Cizer in Rare skills, which does Strike+Fire+Light/Dark+Nuclear, for 515 Power for 35MP. Absolutely crazy.

Err, do you want Almighty attacks too?
>>
>>50750042
>Err, do you want Almighty attacks too?
Nah, it's fine, the Almighty pool is a lot smaller than looking at like 8 pools worth of skills at the same time and i know Holy Strike exists, so it's fine

Thanks for taking the time anon

Unrelated, but im playing an old version of the game, the last non-P version
Why can't i get Debilitate? It appears in my compendium in Rangda and Mithras but when i summon them, from the compendium that shows they have the skill, it gets erased
Why? Does this happen in the P version too?
>>
>>50750144
Related to that Chie gets Dragon Hustle that's basically Luster Candy (an omni-buff) so why would Debilitate be forbidden?
And is there a reason why there's no Luster Candy except for a Software that does that but for Demons in the COMP?
>>
>>50750144
>>50750148
Ah, Debilitate is like Luster Candy, an enemy only skill, it has been this way since a long time, way before P was a thing.
A lot of people called out how much of a giant bullshit this was, especially with the MP cost, to the point some even decided to edit the skills to make them learnable.

>>
>>50750172
Exactly. But Luster Candy and Debilitate? Last time I checked, it was 100MP! Granted, you aren't supposed to have them, but it's telling. Reeeee.

>Which is bullshit because Dekunda takes it all away in one turn anyway and most bosses worth a damn have it and spam it, so what's the point?
Or better, have Dekaja too, or a skill that null stats modifications.
I guess the point is to make them waste a turn, which is effective, wasting one of their multiple turns to cast Dekunda or Dekaja is certain a good thing.

Meanwhile Golden Apple is limited. Everything is alright in the best world.

If only you could end battles like that faster by Charming all of the enemies, but it'd make status ailments pretty strong if you could end battles against enemies that way. I think enemies could make you instant game over if they managed to do certain status ailments in the normal games? Not just Petrify everyone but I feel like in one of the games, having everyone afflicted with Paralysis was an instant game over. Or am I thinking of another game?

That said, if you Talk to an enemy with Charm (that can be Talked to), you can only fuck them or be fucked by them for demon negotiation. The 'choices' part where you pick the obvious sexy time option is also more likely to work, leading to instant sex negotiation? Not sure if it was fixed, but if you did that on certain demons who already have a lot of sex experience, it all gets overwritten by the experience gained from (You)r superior sex negotiation.

On the other hand, if you have Allies Can Negotiate on and you try to have someone in your party who has Charm active try to Talk, they'll offer themselves to the demon in question instead.

>But in Era, it's a skill unique to Idunn that can only be used Five time per fight Right?, it heals the party on top of a Luster Candy, at a very low MP cost.

And here I thought my Sovereign's Guard Order was pretty damn good. Media + Defense Up + Evasion Up all for only 15 MP a cast.

But on the other hand, it's not limited to five castings and Sovereign's way easier to get than Idunn, so I can't complain at all.

>>50750924
>If only you could end battles like that faster by Charming all of the enemies, but it'd make status ailments pretty strong if you could end battles against enemies that way.

Charm and Paralyze wear off on enemies in time anyway, so logically speaking they'd immediately restart the battle then. Assuming, of course, your party didn't do the smart thing and tied them up, shot them in the head, or otherwise rendered them harmless.

As it is, plenty of bosses are already vulnerable to status effects to begin with, so I'm not going to complain when I Charm the level 80 superboss and she uses her five turns to tear out a big chunk of her own health bar for me while tossing me a buff.

>That said, if you Talk to an enemy with Charm (that can be Talked to), you can only fuck them or be fucked by them for demon negotiation.

>>
>>50752084
>But Demi Fiend kind of need a small boost at this point.
I don't really agree. Lots of great skills and very solid resistances(including extremely rare almighty resistance) make for a competitive character even now. Also apparently the skill learn set got updated at one point to make a magic demifiend more viable if you wanted to do that for some reason. The biggest actual issue is you have to put in the effort to level up with the right magatamas in order to maximize resistances, but hey that's the gimmick.
>>
>>50752113
Personally, I find this gimmick annoying. To have to go to the Magatama constantly in every NG+...

>I don't really agree. Lots of great skills and very solid resistances(including extremely rare almighty resistance) make for a competitive character even now.
Oh that's why I said a small boost. I'm not talking about giving him Jihad, infinite Golden Apples, or whatever... name a busted skill?

>Also apparently the skill learn set got updated at one point to make a magic demifiend more viable if you wanted to do that for some reason
It's funny because apparently before the 'definitive' edition back in the PS2 era, Magic Demifiend was apparently the meta.

>>
>>50752123
>It's funny because apparently before the 'definitive' edition back in the PS2 era, Magic Demifiend was apparently the meta.
Not exactly. In both maniax and OG the general progression was magic demi early game(tornado, mostly) and then moving toward physical later. Nocturne has weird damage calculations where the majority of spells actually start to lose damage past level 40 or so(with a handful of exceptions like magma axis which peaks after 100 somewhere). Pierce was really the only addition to maniax and frankly you go 99% of the game without it(and it only really comes up in the TDE and Noah fights anyway). But even if you didn't want to go magic -> phys normal basic bitch attacks are actually really good in nocturne early on. I recently did a playthrough with pure physical demi skipping tornado and spent about half the game just doing charge > normal attack and it was quite strong.

You have to get the amala ending first, then demi can learn it at lv80 off the first magatama.
>>50752173
You are probably mixxing up VV megiddo ark and era megiddo ark. VV did satan dirty.
>>
>>50752179
Iirc, you need to finish the Amala Dungeon, and so the SMTIII ending, then the first Magatama unlock Pierce-so you level up Demi Fiend with it equipped and obtain it.
The Colosseum fight against Demi Fiend is to get the Masakado Magatama.

>>50752182
I remember the Era version being lackluster, maybe it was updated?

>VV did satan dirty.
It's not totally useless, there ARE boss fights were you fight multiple foes. But actually, yes it is, because there's something called Demons that can do the job much, much better, like say, Masakado. OR ANYONE ELSE.
So it's a skill that is only good when used against you!

And let's not talk about how Demi Fiend and Lucifer got done under too.
>>
>>50751916
When your Charmed allies offer themselves up like that, I don't think it even counts as sex negotiation, so the enemy remains on the field from what I remember. Though they'll hate it, it's one way to make characters lose virginity and/or get Abnormal EXP like Beastiality, I guess?
>>
>>50752185
>I remember the Era version being lackluster, maybe it was updated?
If it was it wasn't any time recently. Looking back at my archives it was that way at least to 2021 pre P.

>>50752268
Two important question.
And how much changed? And how many years passed since 5.0?
>>
>>50752688
>If you are talking about the pit

Yeah, that.

At level 450 its energy converts to MAG at a one-to-ten ratio, making it a convenient way to store MAG and give it to other people at later date. Said ratio doesn't get better after that, which is why I'm wondering if there are other hidden benefits to having it be higher.
>>
>>50752688
>And how much changed?
A lot? It's nearly a decade back after all.
>5.0
I don't keep track of version numbers. I just date shit by when I download it so I have a folder with a bunch of folders formatted like

>Remember Alice?
I'm not exactly sure how you get it, but there is a "Play with Me?" skill that basically fills the role her old choose the effect "Die for me?" did. 2-3 50% piercing, up to 8 against multiple targets,(450-675 power ST) is somewhat comparable to her old 360-480 almighty one. Biggest difference is the MP cost which was frankly rather undercosted previously(PWM is 60, DFM w/solomon ring was 23 or 46 without). I do have the old file if you want it though. No promises if it will function out of the box, you'll definitely need to mess with the skill numbers at least since the old DFM was 1408 and the new DFM is 2729.

And it was fun, 60 MP for a Dark Dance that ignore half Dark Res is more than fair. Iirc, there was even a version of Die for Me that became Almighty, iirc with Solomon's Ring.

Frankly, I'm shocked and insulted that no one published mods to rectify all that sort of bullshits. It also kills every wish I have to work on any projects. Why bother working on something, when it's just going to be ignored, or when the current versions of the game is no fun allowed?

It's been years since Fallen Demon is gone.

>there was even a version of Die for Me that became Almighty, iirc with Solomon's Ring
Specifically, I believe it was upon reaching love fall state you got access to the ability to swap Die For Me? to a 360 power dark-almighty move. Then if you also equipped the solomon plug in it went up to 480 power and got half MP cost(of course at the cost of actually having to use solomon's wedding ring instead of some other plugin). By the way, how does she actually learn Play For Me? these days? Is that a mag move?
>>
>>50752839
Ahhh, thanks for that info. And yeah Solomon's Ring isn't that good actually eh?

Yeah, it was a pretty shit plugin. Still probably worthwhile because 20mp for that was a steal but definitely came at a cost.
>no idea
Oh, I didn't mean to imply it changed. I just didn't see it in her learn set from leveling. Should still be from fall states if that's where it came from. Truth be told I haven't actually built an Alice in a while. Kind of want to see if I can mod the ASCII art into the translated talk set....

Right, that's a good point I haven't addressed: I have skill issue. I can see myself modifying certain things, but all of it, all the time? And having to modify things if the current release say fuck you? I'm not good enough for it.

I have the Hoshigami and Jashin mod and the Non-Combatant training mod though. Fun time.
>>
>>50752990
I'm glad you enjoyed them at least. Honestly most of the shit I've done is just me cross referencing other shit or older versions and poking at it till it works. If I want to make something I open up something similar, copy the code over, and tweak it until it's about right. Between the included documentation and the jap wiki there is enough for me to work with. Best way to learn how to do anything is to start small(if for no other reason than going straight to larger projects is a recipe for burnout, don't be like me and decide "hey I think I'm gonna try translating this fuckhueg character dialog" as your first dip).
>>
>>50752956
The installation instructions are on the (English) EruUma page itself, which are:
>Unzip EraUma to a folder
>Unzip the folder from the resource pack to the game folder and rename it to res
>Delete the csv and ere folders from the game folder
>Unzip the csv and ere folders to the game folder

Then if you want to have built-in Google Translate in the game, download and install:
>app_en_googleTL.7z in addition to the EraElectron translation, includes Google Translate to translate the game.

As for the game itself, there are pretty much almost no guides for it in-game. Essentially you have to look up the gameplay guides for the Usamusume mobile game, such as how to build your Umas according to the sort of race they're good at (Front, Pace, Late and/or End). You want to have your Umas at Great mood all the time, so Play Games Together with them a few times until they get it (because it's era, not a mobile game, you can savescum everything until you get your way).

The training loop in EraUma is pretty much the same as they are in the mobile game, except you can do multiple training within the same Week. Speed, Stamina, Power and Guts training eats a lot of Stamina and a smaller amount of Vigor, but Wit Training eats a lot of Vigor but restores Stamina. Choosing to Take A Short Break Together with a Uma restores both Stamina and Vigor (mostly Vigor), which is a variable so you can savescum to get the highest number if you want to. Go To Rooftop Together restores Stamina for both (You) and the Uma and the Stamina gain for the Uma is more than the cost to do it, so you can use that action to restore an Uma's Stamina enough to do another Training session if needed.

You don't have to worry about increasing Affection/Love for your Umas - they will naturally increase from just Training and doing races. You do need to get their Affection to 225 or so at least in order to Celebrate Birthday (with Umas or the other characters around), but during their Birthday, all Affection gains are doubled (including the act of Celebrate Birthday itself), so if you have the money to do so you can throw multiple Gifts at them to get them within range to Celebrate Birthday and beyond.

With any spare Vigor you have, you should spend them on raising Affection and Love of other characters instead. For most of them, getting either 600 Affection ('Unwavering') and 25 or 40 Love will allow you to 'Recruit to your Team'. Essentially they give passives to your entire team, and you can have them 'Take Care' of one of your Umas (not exactly sure what this does; doubles passive bonuses for them?). For the two Trainers in the Trainer Centre, you have to take on their Umas (Happy Meek from Kyoujin and two Umas from the other) and have them win at least 1 G1 race for them to automatically join your team. The Team Leader Trainer is supposed to have non-visible ?? Affection/Love scores until they hit around 60 Love, in which then they start showing (because she's a Tsundere?). Some of the other characters only appear at the Visitor Reception after you achieve something within that cycle (e.g. doing the Triple Tiara, Triple Crown, etc.).

Note that it's normal for the Chairman to be stuck on 50 Love. I think you have to meet certain requirements to bring that higher; maybe need to impregnate them or successfully cycle through some Umas? Unless it's related to the Three Goddesses that you can actually get affection for, by going to the Shrine or occasionally the Three Goddess Statue.

But like I said, I have skill issue. I'm not much of a dev or coder, so when I look at stupid things, like the whole no more MAG Enhancement for the MC, or the remaking of Luminous Avenger menu, I know I'm deep in.
The biggest things I did was
>Giving the Masakado Magatama a bonus of +10 to every single stats still working on the ailments, think about putting Spring of Life/Mana + Enduring Soul because I'm that petty.
>Making GV and Blade OP by making their acc give pierce to their skills, while nulling their weakness to Water Seriously, GV is fun, and while making his skill Magic make sense, it make him a fucking slogfest to use.
>Giving Copen More Power...! Or was it Son's Oath? on top of making his acc also OP.
>Giving Mother Searing Light Have I mentioned I was petty?
In other words: tiny things that are too big for me.

>hey I think I'm gonna try translating this fuckhueg character dialog
We meme a lot about it, myself included though it come more from a place of frustration about the japs adding stupid things instead of good things. but translating is a terrible job to do, and I always make sure to show my appreciation when the News Guy talk about them.

How necessary is Invigorate (Large)?
For Life/Mana Surge and Enduring Souls i can see how they will they can come in clutch in a fight, but Invigorate kind of gets mogged by just using items
In 1 turn 10MP sounds nice but in random encounters you might not even have 1 turn before every enemy is dead and in boss battles it's not very likely you get past turn 10, or even turn 20 if we are generous, which is around 200MP, which is about 1 (one) Chakra Drop at high levels
I rather put some other skill
>>
>>50756830
It's helpful imo. You don't have infinite item space in dungeon, and the best MP items are fairly rare too.
It helps that if you play correctly, the 10 MP you regain is nothing to sneeze at, like say, Devil Hunters.

This sounds like a bug so massive that there's no way it survives into release, so I downloaded the Chinese version to test it.
I can say with confidence that at least in the latest Chinese version, the appendage tracking function does not block you from performing actions that involve 'occupied' organs. As in, I can pinch her nipples then suckle them without issue. Same goes for fingering and spreading V before penetration. In fact I recommend doing so especially when dealing with virgins because otherwise they may tear their vagina.
Assuming this is not a bug introduced by the English patch, I suspect your problem of not being able to do V penetration comes from your penis not being erect.
There is a erect status that you need to gain from foreplay before penetration options open up. There is also a refractory period status that you need to wait out before you are good for a second round.

Well-

>>50756833
>You don't have infinite item space in dungeon, and the best MP items are fairly rare too.

-this.

You might be able to make an argument against MP regeneration if all you're doing is dipping in and out of dungeons for refills, but when you're doing a long crawl? You only have so much item space, Chakras aren't the easiest items to get in bulk, and all Mana Surges do is increase the amount of time until you need to refill your MP.

Invigorates, on the other hand, only want MAG (which random battles hand out like candy) and turns spent in battle (which you'll have plenty of in boss fights, exactly when you'd want constant MP restoration as a free action).

And let's be real: Estoma exists. If you don't want your resources to get burned up by weak enemies, you have the option to avoid it.

Endures are great though. Extra insurance in boss fights are never a bad thing. Slather that stuff on everyone you want to use, demon or not.

Alright, that's all i need to know...
>>

And even if you do have the macca and time to waste, it's still a lot of macca and time to waste. Maybe people find it fun to go away from dungeons and come back, there are people who like using Estoma to use the Might skills after all, but it's not my cup of tea.

And Invigorate Large give you 10 MP per turn. This sounds low, but the most MP heavy skills are the healing ones, rarely the attacking one. Amrita is 20MP Mediarahan is 60MP Prayer is 100MP.
Sure you got things like Ragnarok (60MP, almight physical attack on a row, def down), Brionac (Also 60MP, attack up to 5 foes randomly, the lesser foes there are the more powerful it get) or fucking Freikugel (Demi Fiend 50MP exclusive, stupidly powerful, high hit and crit, 640 pow) but they are rare/exclusive/powerful one of a kind skill. And don't you fucking dare go Megidolaton.

Meanwhile the more 'normal' for a definition of normal attacks like White Dracostrikes? 25MP. Megidocross 35MP. Or picrel.
Tetra and Makarakarn? 45MP. Fog Breath? 30MP.

The best attacking skills are those who cost around 30MP max, Mediarahan and Amrita are a must have.
I repeat Invigorate (Large) gives you 10 MP back. Flat. Per turn.
You will obtain Invigorate (Large). You will equip Invigorate (Large). You will love Invigorate (Large).
>>
>>50758258
It's ok if you order your actions to have a dekaja user right after, but at that point you might as well just use two rakundas. The biggest point in it's favor is you want someone who can dekaja anyway so you use less skill slots to have it+dekaja than rakunda+dekaja.
>>
>>50758332
Not to mention basic bitch megido is a very good mobbing option and invigorate can get most of it's cost back. Especially if you are taking into account affinities.
>>
>>50758337
Exactly. Never fucking go Megidolaon. It's a trap that has been in the main series for years, and it's also true in Era.
If your characters are properly managed* a Megido is more than good enough**. Megidola is you REALLY want to be sure***.
Megidolaon cost 60MP, Megidola cost 35MP. Megido cost 20MP. The math is easy. Even if the no fun japs decided to nerf Megido by giving making it a 30 or 40MP cost it would still be worth it.

*Read, done with a brain
**Read, destroy randos.
***Read, genocide randos
I don't get why I wanted to do those * things, I just wanted to.

>affinities
A literal cherry on top. Characters/demons with affinities do more damage with those skills AND they cost less.

Megidolaon really should have more benefits to it considering how fuckass expensive a spell it is...
>>
>>50758436
60mp isn't THAT bad, the bigger issue is more that the next steps up barely cost more. Great Logos for instance is 80 more power but only 10 mp more. Crawling chaos is only 10 more power but costs the same and can inflict close. Jihad is 20 more mp but debilitates and has 75 more power. Etc. So it ends up as this weird intermediate option that you really only bother with if you have affinity and don't have access to higher end options yet(for instance, a magic half demon MC can get it off a staff and it's pretty decent there).
>>
>>50756421
Not sure if you managed to find it out yourself, but that one can also be tricky to find because of how the Chinese Era client works (EraElectron; JP (and by extension us) mostly use Emuera).

With EraElectron, to enable images, you have to first put the image files in the right spot - that is, in the 'game' folder, not the 'resource' folder. Then when on the actual EraElectron client itself when you run up EraUma, go to 'Help' up on the client toolbar, then select 'Game Setting'. You need to then set 'Enable Resources' to 'Enable' and Save and Reload. Or you can just Save and Close then manually restart the client via Game -> Reload Game, or closing and re-opening the client (in case it doesn't show the images right after).

>>50757078
Maybe it was just the version I had then? I always date the zip file when I downloaded it (habit from updating standard Era games that do so daily, if not weekly), and the version I had was EraUma Agito 2.21, downloaded on 2026-03-09. All I did was follow the instructions in the order presented on the English git page (including the delete and replacing the 'csv' and 'ere' subfolders in the 'Game' folder) then replacing 'app.asar' in the 'Resource' folder with the version in 'app_en_googleTL.7z'. I didn't do anything else other than those before starting up my run, so unsure why it was doing that with the sex UI.
>>
Strange how in this Megido conversation nobody mentioned Holy Dance
It seems like the go single target magic nuke as far as i can tell, is there something wrong with it?
>>
>>50756791
Because I use EX characters a lot, I almost always use full human parties as my main party. It's to the point where the only time I actually have demons in my party if I'm doing the Isora Loyalty Grind for Untrained Falls. Especially with certain settings active in Tensei-P, human characters can easily be equivalent, if not better than a demon on the same level - the only thing demons will always have over normal humans at that point are their resistances, if they have a good set in advance. Even that becomes a negligible 'advantage' if you're overlevelled over whatever you're doing anyway, unless the enemy(ies) have specific gimmicks to them that makes this work against you (e.g. the RabiRabi boss in the hospital work).

>>50757045
Sometimes authors don't want to do that sort of interaction between characters, either because:
>1. They don't want to 'step on the toes' of another author, especially if they're from years ago and hasn't been seen for that long
>2. Don't want to do that for a character only to be saddled with the 'responsibility' of also doing up with the other character(s) they're doing interactions with
>3. Don't want to deal with people who really will seethe and rage over 'non-canon content' (whether in reality in in their headcanon; 'my waifu would never act like that!', aka the difference between easygoing TW Suwako and K Suwako who is 100% fully serious all the time mode that can't take it easy while the war is going), or those that doesn't want interactions like that because it 'implies yuri and thus I'm being NTR'd' (was an actual thing even here in the past)

That's just a problem that will always be around with well-established characters like the 2hus. Safest is with totally made up characters, but of all currently active Era games, only eraFL has that - a completely original world and characters with it, so authors can go wild with creating their ultimate waifu and later add more waifu to do interactions between them (e.g. the author for Fee-chan and later Tia and Souffle).

Random targeting means it's not as good for mobbing. It's still a solid spell, but more for bossing.

And also thanks so much for the help back then everyone.
>>50757078
Hey man sorry for the annoyance but i wonder if you have the images enabled and how did you do it since there is no instructions in the translation guide, since i can see you can switch portraits but never shows images
>>
>>50758557
The problem is that Era often have more than three foes, and Dances skills are random targets, so they are more prone to RNG, much more than in Devil Survivor 1 and 2 who has maximum, 3 foes in a fight. It's still crazy good, but if you expect to be lucky in hitting that one foe like in DS1/2 in a game that can have up to 10 foes, you are dreaming.

On the plus side, like Devil Survivor, it's perfect for Bosses. It's basically PLAP PLAP PLAP PLAP.
>>
>>50758567
>doesn't want interactions like that because it 'implies yuri and thus I'm being NTR'd'
This is a legitimate issue. Forced yurishit is irritating.
>>
>>50758650
NTA but I just followed the instructions on the git page and it worked for me.
>>
>>50758650
>>50758691
Okay I just did a fresh install following the instructions and confirmed it works.
Extract the "uma-resource-20251118" or whatever numbers folder into the "game" folder and then rename it to res. Then open the game. Click Help on the toolbar and toggle "enable resources" to "enabled". Press "Save and Reload". The git omits that last part so I guess you just have to know you need to do that for some games.
>>
>>50758513
2.21 is the most update version and the version I tested with. I got the one for Windows 10 and the resource pack from https://gitgud.io/umaera/erauma/-/releases/permalink/latest and specifically https://gitgud.io/api/v4/projects/29407/packages/generic/erauma/2.21/erauma-with-engine-2.21-win-x64.7z and https://gitgud.io/umaera/data/uma-resource/-/archive/20260205/uma-resource-20260205.zip then put them together per instructions, enable resource loading ingame then reboot the app. I don't have the English patch so I cannot test it. All I can say is it's normal that you cannot do V penetration right from the start because neither you and the uma is aroused. You need to work your P arousal up until you get the erect status which unlocks the penetration option. I just run a quick test and you probably need to fill the P gauge to more than 40% for that to happen.
>>50758727
Good to know you got it to work. I was typing a long winded response that is no longer needed, but I will leave it here for posterity.
After you downloaded both files, unzip the main package first. Then navigate to \erauma-with-engine-2.21\game and unzip the resource package in the game folder. Now there should be 3 folders under \game: csv, ere and uma-resource-20251118. Rename the last one to 'res'. Go into the res folder and make sure you see a bunch of folders and files. If you see another uma-resource folder, you need to go in and relocate the contents to sit directly under res. After you have the res folder in the correct location, launch the app. It's normal that it will take 10s on initiation. Once you get it running, click help or the third option of the toolbar, then click the second option in the dropdown menu. In the popup, click toggle in the third row so that it's on the right, then click the red button which says save and reload.
This is for those on Windows 10. If you are using Windows 7 or Android you need to download different files with slightly different steps.

It could very well be that my game was just bugged or something; I'll try doing a fresh install some time when I feel like Poi'ing my Umas some time. I mean, are you supposed to be able to see the numerical Affection/Love values for everyone normally without those Affection Lenses? For some reason, I could see them for everyone except the Team Leader Trainer lady, and her Affection/Love values were shown as ?? until she hit the 70 Love event where it started showing as numerical values. I can't tell if they deliberately made it visible for now or if it was because there's a problem with my game client for some reason without actually confirming it with other people.

But if there's no issue with the sex UI for you, it could very well be that I did something I wasn't supposed to during the installation I don't remember. If you want to test to see if there really is no problems with the sex UI, there is something else you could do that I definitely did that caused the sex UI to be buggy like that - play as a full Female Trainer, and have all the Umas (and characters) be Female. It'd be funny if it all goes wrong because the game is trying to detect who has a dick and couldn't find anyone with one at all.

>Not to mention basic bitch megido is a very good mobbing option and invigorate can get most of it's cost back.

I have two members of my party tossing out fucking Gleam Grenades with tons of Intelligence and they wreck random encounters just fine. Hell, they chew up the flunkies of bosses while the other more dedicated DPSes handle the boss, and make farming mobs braindead simple when you can simply hold down Repeat Auto and not care about resistances one bit.

I took the special items option when doing my first NG+ precisely due to the free mini-Megido spamming the Gleam Grenade provides, and I have never regretted it for a moment.

I talked to the Sugoi dev about it, unfortunately everything is working as intended - his app just got faster, so it sometimes intercepts the clipboard faster than the script can filter it, and the attempts he made to include it in his toolkit fell flat
The was I bypass it is I pause Sugoi when not reading JP lines, then resume it when there is stuff in era-clipboard to translate

not quite what I said - I couldn't get his Textractor fork to work with any emuera executable, and using his built-in filter didn't work as intended (it did get rid of some characters, but not all plus even then it was still clogging the LLM with empty requests)
I could try to fiddle with it meself but I'm actaully dogshit at programming stuff, and I do remember the toolkit has to support more than just some barely held together emulator of a 20-years old text game engine so I can't be too harsh

I ran another test with female trainer having a session with hakase. I could eventually unlock and perform all actions without blockage, but I did notice severals are dimmed and unselectable until hakase's obedience mark levels up and her love (not affection) rises above 60 or 65. Actions like fingering and spreading appear to be locked behind love level. But they aren't blocked by limb position.
As for visibility of affection and love level, what you described is normal behavior. After a bit of digging, I suspect Kashimoto has the unfathomable trait that hides her affection and love level unless you are wearing the affection lenses, have the horse whisper on, or as you said have a high level of love.

The Gleam Grenade is a weaker Megido Stone, except it's infinitely reusable and you only need Tool Knowledge level one to use them

So if you crank up your Intelligence, it'll do damage like any other attack item

It's the Haredo Bead that's a flat 100 HP to all party members

She's also one of the very few characters with images for lewd outfits like the Ero Miko as well. She does have it with her normal form, of course.

In terms of image variations, I feel like Cagliostro has the most when it comes to outfit variations. Cagliostro (normal) even has outfit for the Resort Uniform in different variations - 'Full Suit + Pants/Skirt/Miniskirt', 'Full Suit + Bottomless', 'Naked suit (only the suit, no shirt/bra underneath) + Pants/Skirt/Miniskirt', etc.. Even the ones seeing pictures everyday by some obsessed JP players like Patchouli and Promethea doesn't have as many outfit image variations as Cagliostro does.

I just hope that Clarisse gets the same attention one of these days. The youngest of the line always gets nothing...

The Sucker event only triggers if (You) are Female or Futa, I believe. This is separate from the Executive ones, as the Sucker event has the 'Sucker Executive' 'train' you in 'the art of training women' while also giving (You) the 'Sucker' Talent, while the 'normal Executive' one is more of where (You) play the role of a (cheaply) paid (sex) escort.

The 'sub events' for the Sucker ones, once you've initiated it, comes in the form of those 'You were called up by the (Sucker Executive) who proceeds to 'train' you', which often involves Outdoor Play.

I read here you can use the Tentacle Lab to give MAG to characters you don't want to fuck, how do i unlock said lab? Does anyone know?
>>
File: eraMegaten Tentacle Lab.png (74 KB, 1532x938)

>>50766718
A lot of information like this is available in DemonTraining.exe.

You gain access to the Tentacle Lab when you get at least 1 Tentacle Energy. To get Tentacle Energy, you either must sacrifice a character or with MAG Absorption on, train someone (can also be (You)) with tentacles. Of course, the character being tentacle'd needs to have MAG to be able to absorb it.
>>
>>50766870
Alright, thanks anon, i can finally get MAG on my male demons
>>
>>50767029
The ultimate solution is to find demons with a shit ton of mag capacity and then use the lab to fill them up completely before sacrificing them. Well that's what you do after you get the upgrades so tentacle energy is worth anywhere from 2x as much mag up to 10x.
>>
>>50767050
>find demons with a shit ton of mag capacity

That's more or less the highest level demon you can find and recruit. In other words, like most everything else in this game, the good stuff is exclusive to high-level characters.
>>
>>50767050
How do you get the upgrades?
>>
Any general list of what EX events are mostly translated in megaten (if any)? Also I want to say whoever is translating just event one of event chains and leaving the rest undone is a cruel man. Got caught with that in both Devil Children (I think) and Fate, and both of those led to multiple choice events!
>>
>>50767164
You sacrifice high level demons. Preferably ones with max mag as that increases the amount of tentacle energy you get which you can just pump back into another demon to then sacrifice again or use to give them mag stat boosts.
>>
>>50767187
Devil children is like that because the manga route was added (much) later. The normal route should be 100% translated. Same with fate, the first event with Liz was added years before the FSN line proper or the servant fusion event.
>>
If a character is immune to Mind/Nerve are they immune to the respective ailments?
>>
>>50767394
No. But it's easy to think of it as such because Mind/Nerve skills almost always come with ailments. It's why being immune to Mind/Nerve is helpful, you null the skills and what they could inflict. It saves you a lot of headaches.

It's also why Almighty ailment skills are so dangerous too.
>>
>>50767214

The onerous part is getting those high level demons to feed to the tentacles. You either need a high-level dungeon to recruit them in or pay out the ass summoning from the Compendium.

I usually just use the Comp app that makes you gain a hundredfold more MAG than normal from battles and spam Tentacle Frenzy every fight. It's about as quick and braindead as it gets.

>>50767423
>It's also why Almighty ailment skills are so dangerous too.

At some point it's better to go get protections from ailments/instant death themselves than from whatever elements carry them, simply due to cases like this, even if they come in the form of buffs you need to cast during battle.

>>
>>50767809
Naoto is from the lily route, have to kidnap her from the cathedral I think? I forget if you can recruit her on the naoya route when she ends up as a whore in roppongi(i don't think so?).

>>50767831

>>
>>50767859
The only half assed part is no one wants to finish the god damn routes.
>>
>>50767831
You CAN get her in the Naoya route but only if you fail it early by letting your alignment change to either L I think. Then she's in the whorehouse but isn't "broken in" yet and you can buy her for some reasonable amount of macca.
>>
>>50767859
Yeah, that's fair.
>>
>>50767588
The good thing is that Mind/Nerve are the most common things.
You won't see a lot of ennemies or bosses with Almighty Ailment Skills like Vanity, you should already have skills to protect yourself from them, or better yet, be immune to those, thanks to late game armors/custom armors, or even better, able to just dodge them.

Vanity doesn't seems to scary when you got Divine Protection on a characters.

>or even better, able to just dodge them.

Put all your points into Agility, be practically invulnerable in the vast majority of fights.

Hell, put every third point you get into Agility and go get some Evasion boosts during boss fights.

That Agility also boosts the damage of the GUN command makes it insanely versatile. I dare say that Agility is mandatory to raise for literally every character you intend to see serious battle; it makes a mockery of so many dangerous moves it's not even funny.

>>
>>50771167
He did nothing wrong, he was ready to just walk away.

>>
>>50771167
>>50771168
I mean to be fair, Reimu threatens Marisa over becoming a Magician too, which is completely unfair because she's both already deeply immersed in youkai activities and so far beyond mere villager nonsense she shouldn't even count, and it something she can't actually help because it's inevitable a magician becomes a Magician.
>>
>>50771177
Oh yeah, Reimu is just so very unlikeable there
>"Hey Marisa, my literal best friend, my partner in life, if you become a Magician, I'll fucking kill you."
>"Don't care that you aren't a villager or that it's something you'll become no matter what."
>"You become non human, you get Crimson Slashered. Bitch."
EraTW actually note that.
>>
>>50771180
Literally nobody likes a rules absolutist who'd betray their friends over them, it was a really terrible bit of characterization.
>>
>>50771168
It was a difference of actively trying to turn into a youkai, vs. being possessed by a youkai scroll and turned into one unwillingly (probably also losing her human personality in the process) because some weird granny on the roof told you to (the fact that said granny might also be a youkai is also probably a cohencidence)
Kosuzu doesn't really want to be a youkai, she just fetishizes them or something because she's a NERD
>>
>>50771182
I mean, if the rules actually made sense, and she wasn't so anal about it, it could pass.
But Reimu is weirdly tight about certain things, but weirdly loose about other things.

>>50771184
That's not really an argument.

>>50771189
reimu is a dumb dumb brat and also a woman, maybe it's a case of not wanting to be separated with marisa or some cope like that
>>
>>50771192
Perfect Memento in Strict Sense/Memorizable Gensokyo is more of an encyclopedia rather than a storybook innit?
Meanwhile Forbidden Scrollery is more of a standalone series that is focused on a few characters, but it helps if you do know the background characters
>>
>>50771189
The rule makes sense when its applied reasonably, but like anything else there's exceptions. It's applying the letter while ignoring the spirit, the actual purpose of it. The purpose of it is to keep the villagers in general from getting funny ideas and disturbing the order by turning into youkai and leading to the destruction of gensokyo. If you already have a girl who is magical, tied up in youkai matters, almost exclusively friends with youkai aside from two humans also tied up in constant youkai mess (one of whom is you,) subject to an involuntary process of transformation into a youkai, and who has no connection to the village anymore aside from her father who knows nothing about her situation? There's basically zero reason to attack Marisa because it would serve no purpose at all in reinforcing the status quo since she's already outside of it. Literally you just talk to her and make sure she understands not to advertise what she did to the other humans (which she has no interest in doing anyway.)
>>50771194
I mean you could make that argument if it was voluntary, but Marisa is going to become a Magician regardless of what Reimu or Marisa herself wants. This isn't a situation of threatening her so they both die mortal, it's threatening someone who IS going to be immortal with murder for no justifiable logical or emotional reason. So it just defaults to her only possible reasoning being that it's a literal application of the law.
>>
>>50771201
That is true, but the Hermit/Fortune Teller made sure to tell her that he wouldn't tell anyone.
But since he wasn't a cute girl, he got Crimson Slasher'ed.
One get the impression that she was just venting when she said "it was the worst sin there could be.

>and who has no connection to the village anymore aside from her father who knows nothing about her situation?
They are in bad terms iirc, never said outright, but Marisa make sure to stay the fuck away from it all, and literally run away when Rinnosuke try to approach her with the subject. Speaking of, Rinnosuke is more of a connection to the village than the actual villagers.
Because Rinnosuke actually deal in the village, but iirc, while he is a bit awkward about his Half-Youkai thing, villagers seems to like him, if the whole 'Hey man, haven't seen you in literal years I thinkg it's decade but I forgor how are you going?'
He's apparently in contact with Marisa's dad too. Makes you wonder what the hell happened.

The more common sort of Shrine Maiden ero content is more about how their wombs contain their sacred energy or something like that. It's their source of power, but also because it's 'sacred' in Japanese folklore sense, youkai and spirits can be reborn through the womb of a Shrine Maiden as well. Often doing so also imparts part of their power to those born, so it's why there's a lot of content where the bad ends end up with them being turned into a baby factory, a 'passage' for youkai and spirits from the 'other side' to enter 'our side'.

But I digress. (Anime'd) Shrine Maidens are cute, and the ero variant like the one depicted here >>50761722 is just super ero cute. Ero cute is the best sort of ero without being outright porn.

>Which item mage would you prefer to take?

Imma going to go against the grain and say Kyouko, for a few reasons:

1) The unreleased version of Fairy Mabel Appearance is Delay Dia but better in every way except MP cost. It's a full recovery + complete status heal for the entire party, and it goes last in the round, which sounds bad until you realize it's right after the enemy finishes dealing their damage. If you need to heal more quickly Kyouko has Diarahan (and of course, items) for that.

2) Frugal + I Expected This, provided you bought excess stock of items to use before heading into the dungeon, works well for extending item usage before needing to leave. You're going to eventually hit the point where you can go buy hundreds of items from the shops as you play. I Expected This lets you leverage that, and Frugal stretches that out even further.

3) Riberama is the spell to use when farming. Accept no substitutes. Estoma and Traesto are also good if you don't have other people/demons to cast those.

4) Heat Riser. Enough said.

And last but certainly not least,

5) You can actually get her early on, no RNG involved, no needing to reroll over and over until you get that storekeeper.

Granted, she doesn't have Gunslinger, but as you'll want Kyouko to have lots of Intelligence and Agility anyway it's not the worst thing she can do with her turns.
>>
>>50771177
>and it something she can't actually help because it's inevitable a magician becomes a Magician.
That's complete nonsense. Becoming a youkai magician requires one to perform specific spells and you can safely practice magic as a human as long as you aren't a retard, and there's plenty of practitioners living casually in the Human Village.

that is very much not true, some unnoticeable magic is gonna fly under the radar but it's been consistent across the titles that any youkai spawning in the Village is absolutely an outlaw situation where you're encouraged to shoot on sight
which is why the more ambitious elements build their cribs outside the walls

Yes, *youkai*. Obviously most practitioners don't go so far and are happy to do some magic as a human.
They're not too open about their work, but knowledge of magicians operating in the village is obviously not that much of a secret either, and as long as they don't turn themselves into a youkai, Reimu doesn't have an issue with them either.

>>
>>50772951
One of the reason why Persona User are just annoying and even stresful to use.
>>
>>50773625

That, and they can't change their resistances with equipment.

The best thing you can do for your Persona Users, other than not starting your fresh new file as one, is to raise demons specifically for Igor so you get Personas that don't suck.

The good news is, this doesn't take all that much work. You only need to pick a good demon to use as your base and then card in any skills you want. Obviously you can't do this if you don't have good demons to use or good skills to card, and you'll have problems summoning/fusing good demons at the start of a cycle if your MC doesn't inherit levels, which is why I recommend you don't start your fresh brand new save file as a Persona User MC.

The bad news is, with the cap of ten cards you can't exactly have an effective Persona User army (not that you'd want to), so you're going to have to be very very picky with what Persona Users you recruit. If you have a favourite or two that's fine, but some Persona Users are definitely better than others.
>>
>>50773811
>That, and they can't change their resistances with equipment.
And they shouldn't be able to. The entire point is you are supposed to persona hop. It's like how half demons can't either or how shifters/tuners get new resistances when they transform. The actual issue is you lose the extra personas you feed to them each cycle. Really should be a carry over option for that without having to compendium shit.
>>
>>50773811
Is the HP limit of the Frost Five also applied to the Persona user?
>>
>>50773811
>>50773813
>And they shouldn't be able to. The entire point is you are supposed to persona hop
See, the argument fall flat dick-in-it's-own-ass since most characters can change resistances anyway, especially with training.
The real advantage of Persona User is being able to basically be multiple characters, and have a lot of skill slots, even if you go Enduring Soul/Invigorate Large. That's 24 skill slots.
It's still annoying and stressful to use anyways.

>The actual issue is you lose the extra personas you feed to them each cycle
A problem for every characters, but especially true for Persona Users.
Funny how Atma Avatars don't have this problem, you keep your grid every playthrough.

>so you're going to have to be very very picky with what Persona Users you recruit. If you have a favourite or two that's fine, but some Persona Users are definitely better than others.
Basically, the only ones you should use are the ones with unique moves. It's not for nothing that they got unique, powerful moves, if costy. They NEED at least this much for people to want to use them at least a bit.
That Myriad Truth that is magical, and that Sinful Shell? Awww yeaaaaaaaah. Or Akechi and his piercing physical attacks.
But the question is, are they worth the problems? When you have the storm that is approaching, relaxing, on his plastic chair of isolation? Or Nova Cizer?

>>
>>50773832
>See, the argument fall flat dick-in-it's-own-ass since most characters can change resistances anyway
Not really, since the way persona users are supposed to change resistances is via persona swapping. Again, it's similar to how half demons can't change their resistances via gear, how shifters are supposed to swap demons, or how tuners have various null skills. It's the class gimmick.
>>
>>50773832
I think that being the exclusive owners of the amp skills is worth it, personally.
Plus fixed resistances means you can just buy one 10k demonica copy and they're halfway geared for the rest of the game if you want.
>>
>>50773846
But like I said, it just take way too much time and trouble. It's annoying and stressful.
And no one use Shifters. That's the thing. Except if she is named Koshiro I guess.

>>50773847
25% isn't that much, again, they need to really sell the characters hard with those gimmick and moves.

>Plus fixed resistances means you can just buy one 10k demonica copy and they're halfway geared for the rest of the game if you want.
That is true!
>>

>And no one use Shifters. That's the thing. Except if she is named Koshiro I guess.
Hey now, people use Nagi and Io too!
>>
>>50773858
Uh no, Shifters can change forms, AND demon forms.
Io and Nagi are Outsiders, you can't change their forms, but they got unique things and gimmick which make them kino.
>>
>>50773861
It's mechanically close enough. If anything outsiders are worse since you can't change the linked demon.
>>
>>50773865
Except Outsiders like Io and Nagi got special stuffs, like I said, and special resistances, skills, etc.
Hell, Nagi post transformation stay a good character as a human.
>>
>>50773867
I'm pretty sure Io even predates calling them outsiders to begin with. And they get special treatment because whoever made them decided to give them special treatment, not due to their class besides.
>>
>>50773871
I... fail to see the point?
>>
>>50773872
My point is they aren't good because they are outsiders, they are good because they were designed to be a cut above other outsiders/shifters. Same as Koshiro. No one gives a shit about outsiders like Herman or Akira or Sakurako or even ones with more special sauce like Futaba and Patty. Fundamentally, outsiders are just shifters that can't change their demon. They aren't the expert to shifter's adept where they get more power budget allotted in exchange for being more locked down.
>>
>>50773878
I thought that was the point of Outsiders though?

>No one gives a shit about outsiders like Herman or Akira or Sakurako or even ones with more special sauce like Futaba and Patty
...That is true.
>>
>>50773832
>The real advantage of Persona User is being able to basically be multiple characters

Just by having one level of Summoner I can have one slot on my team be occupied by a demon in my COMP, which can reach double digit numbers with even halfassed contributions. I can do this for my entire team, if I want.

Meanwhile my Summoner is a human that doesn't have fixed resistances, meaning I can turn on Dungeon Sex, slap on the Tactile Demonica, and go wreck some bosses. I can do this with five variable-resistance humans and have the sixth slot occupied by the aforementioned COMP demons.

But wait, it gets even better. If a Persona User carks it that's effectively three characters gone until and unless they are revived. If a demon in the COMP dies I can summon another to take its place.

And the final nail in the coffin? I have several hundred character slots I can fill with demons if I want. Custom Persona cards? Ten, period. Oh, and you can't take them to New Game Plus unlike contracted characters, meaning you have to keep feeding demons to Igor if you want your Persona Users to not be stuck with their initial Personas.

There is like no practical reason to use a generic Persona User, or have your MC be one, ever. If you do, it's because you want the challenge or the fun of it. The only Persona Users people are likely to use are either their favourite characters, or those that offer something really good and worthwhile like what >>50773832 pointed out. Otherwise, you may as well fill that slot with a single character that's powerful and useful in their own way instead of a single halfassed character and two more you need to keep replacing every single cycle.
>>
>>50773887
Technically there is a practical reason, and that's persona users have higher damage output potential than demons thanks to boost skills(which are nearly absent from demons). The rest of the points are all spot on though.
>>
>>50773887
It's what I'm saying, using Persona User is just stressful and annoying. You can get the results by literally anything else.
Personabros/Personas cucks are so over.

Imagine if you could card things like Myriad Truth, Sinful Shell, or Magic Skill Up. Or any of the unique skills like the P2 cast.
It would still be problematic since unlike the P2 cast unique spells, they would still cost a lot of MP though.
>>
Has anyone ever used one of the robots? I don't mean the Super Robot Wars guys, I mean like the T series Golem or Medusa.

>>
>>50773895
Long, long ago(I'm talking so far back you still had to physically go to shops in dungeons instead it just being a menu) they used to be decent option because you could just buy them. These days they are more a remnant of older times than anything.

...Does Mother count as a Robot, or a Demon?
>>
>>50773888
>persona users have higher damage output potential than demons thanks to boost skills(which are nearly absent from demons)

Doesn't matter when my human wearing Tactile Demonica tanks everything the enemy throws at them and laughs off the status effects and OHKO moves besides. Meanwhile my demons are putting out big numbers just fine.

More DPS isn't worth it when the Persona User is much more squishy than a variable-resistance human and less replaceable than a demon.

One a more serious note, it's almost a shame, DS1/MT1 IS a good route and introduction, the dungeon is rude though, very rude, it has the same asshole moments of the original MT1.
Remember when Hinokagutsuchi's gimmick? And how it just sucked anyways?
>>
I feel like Int should be the spellcasting stat that pays out more in MP as opposed to magic.
As it stands spellcasters are rewarded for going all in on magic with both better spells and more mp to use them, but physical fighters either have to put points into a stat that does almost literally nothing for them if they want mp instead of the one that probably raises SOMETHING they can use, even if it's just magic defense.

It's an attack a character gets for having Gunslinger level 5. It's literally the Gun command used twice in a row. That's it.

Double Tap after a Shock or Freeze is a nasty setup, and a substitute for electric or ice bullets in a pinch of just if you don't want to waste the special ammo on the undeserving.

The MC can't get Gunslinger level 5, but they CAN be the Item style Summoner which gets Item Mastery and Ailment Boost Lv3, and toss out Stun Grenades, Riot Bombs, and Nitrogen Bombs for very reliable multitarget Shocks and Freezes.

And if they have Tentacle Technique, their Tentacle Violates will be quite likely to land those status ailments on single targets. It's actually quite strong on bosses that are vulnerable to status effects.

He's too much of an ass to coexist with the gang you picked up I guess, unless you actually betray everyone. Picking up his skills in some way would be neat, but we already have two Azure Strikers, surely we can't have a third.

>>
>>50775971
I don't really think it matters what level you get people honestly because exp scaling is extremely strong and fighting above level catches people up very fast.
In fact, if they can use plugins I wish you always got them at 1 for the free MAG enhancement items, plus high level characters almost certainly "wasted" some of their stat distribution. The real issue is when you get a character so late you can only realistically use them for anything if you contract them.
>>

Or worse, when you get them like 5 seconds from a forced NG+ ending and they only way to actually use them(or even contract them) is to turn around and leave the dungeon.

So Fate has
>three alignment based main character demons with different dialogue and even occasional event alterations (Blue Saber prevents a back attack the others don't, for example)
>then four different options that change the text and sometimes battles for the rest of the event chain, and even sometimes having some variation to those "routes" like whether Rin becomes a Devil Shifter merged with either Ishtar or Ereshkigal

Yes Persona Users are very usable and the game won't slap you down for using them (beyond what happens in combat, anyway), but as far as options go, other than the good ones there's definitely better options.
>>
Does SMT4 and SMT4A get any content besides that one mission? When you meet the characters or 4?
>>
>>50776274
That mission starts a chain where you do Mikado stuff in events. The next one is like Ashura Kai request or something.
>>
>>50776274
4 has a quest chain that covers the game up until the reactor. 4A doesn't really have much of anything beyond characters in the shop.
>>
Wait, there are people here who really only use the characters that are good instead of the ones they like?
>>
>>50776444
I like demons and number go up.
I have just realized that I can use three demon fusion to upgrade my demons quicker. 2 nightmares is 600 yen which creates an undine and gets you a ton of stuff
>>
>>50776470
2 Petit Frost is the same price and makes a gnome, which levels up the other half of the demon types that undine levels down. You can basically fill generic fusions in the compendium using only the cheapest demons possible this way.
>>
God I wish I knew how fusing worked.
>>
>>50776485
It's basically just the average of the base levels plus four and picking what is the closest to that in the resulting race of the fusion.
The four spirits upgrade or downgrade a demon to the next highest or lowest member of the race.
>>
>>50776483
ooooh, I was looking to how to summon a salamander but a gnome is way cheaper.
The compendium said salamander can be yoma x yoma but now that I think about it, it must be that nightmare is too under leveled (¿?) to fuse into a salamander and I get an undine.

So, petit frost. Amazing.
>>50776485
one think I've noticed that mislead me is that leveling up a demon means SHIT to fusion. And also that megaten has unneeded bloat with the races. Like, four different races are Brute and so on
>>
>>50776580
There's an app for fusion to use the current level instead of base level. I believe you have to unlock it through doing one of the pet shop special requests.
Demons that are leveled will also give free levels to their fusion result. The "race bloat" is just a flavor thing so demons are more accurately labeled to what they were in their native game, usually.
>>
>>50776274
4 is unfinished. 4A has characters in the shop, but they are mostly bad.
The whole Cosmic Egg plot is awkwardly put in the DDS2 route.

Nozomi, Toki, and Odin are fun though.
>>
The issue is the autism against touching other people's story lines to complete them on the off-chance they'll return after six years ready and brimming with the desire to finish them
>>
>>50776820

>>
>>50775993
You could turn Setsuna into a girl. Setsuna is one of the characters that has a TS version built into the portrait set. I don't remember if the quests account for this, unlike TS Ayato for Giten Tensei.
>>
>>50776512
>The four spirits upgrade or downgrade a demon to the next highest or lowest member of the race.

And since there are both male and female elementals, you can flip the resulting gender of your fusions should you have need.

>>50776813
>Nozomi

Best girl. She slots into any team effortlessly and is one of the best Gunslingers in the game, available from Rag's if you have the jewels. She is indeed fun.
>>
>>50776967
>Ayato has extra stuff for being gender bent
Man, Giten really is the favorite child in this. Is the actual game itself a fan favorite overseas?
>>
>>50777003
The problem with that is that she kind of overlap bit... A LOT with DeviColoMC, haing the same Auto-Kaja skills.
It's just a tiny problem. Are you REALLY going to say no to another Pierce user? With skills like Photo Flash or Mother Discipline, which stay relevant no matter what? With Gunslinger 5?

The ONLY thing she doesn't have is Invigorate Large, she has Medium instead lol lmao, and Mana Surge, but who care, as a Gunslinger, she should be Ag/In build anyways, and you can rectify that by giving her Yasaka Magatama, and replace Life Surge by something else.
One of the few good great even, Expert characters imo.
She even has Pierce Boost!

Nozomi is probably better overall(thanks to a summoner level and photo flash), but personally I like the fatter damage Shiraishi does as far as pierce specialist expert gunslingers go. 640 power riot gun on a piercing pierce boost character is hard to pass up. Granted you probably want to build the two differently to begin with. Despite being a gunslinger Shiraishi is more of a STR gorilla.

Oh right, untranslated stuff.

It really depend on how good Three-Line Shooting and Gravestone Home Run are.
>she doesn't have Invigorate
reeeeeee
>>
>>50777079
Three-Line Shooting is an all target 3-3 hit 110 power move that (I think) has increased crit rate and hit rate for 30mp base. For her purposes you can think of it as a better physical version of megido. Gravestone Home Run is just a vanilla 520 striking move. It's alright but you'd only use it over Riot Gun if the enemy is specifically weak to strike or you haven't learned Riot Gun yet.
>>
>>50777108
>Three-Line Shooting is an all target 3-3 hit 110 power move that (I think) has increased crit rate and hit rate for 30mp base. For her purposes you can think of it as a better physical version of megido
This is insanely good, and less costy than Nozomi's skills.

>Gravestone Home Run is just a vanilla 520 striking move
So it's basically Mortal Jihad. Not bad.
What you want in a Pierce character is a lot of elements. So like Nozomi, she is tight, a forged Peacemakaer+80 and she's good to go.
>>
>>50777129
>What you want in a Pierce character is a lot of elements
If I have a lot of elements I don't need pierce to begin with, I'll just target weaknesses. What I want on a pierce character is to specialize in one or two elements and just roll over the neutral with numbers.
>>
>>50777211
Yes, but actually no, because chances are that something that is resitant to light will be weak to dark, or resistant to the physical elements will be to the magical ones.
You see what I mean?
>>
>>50777231
What are the odds that an enemy will resist every single bullet element, including almighty? With how many types of ammo you can load pierce is largely redundant outside of AOE situations. In nozomi's case there is still a use for it by allowing you to use piercing pierce ammo with pierce boosting against otherwise resistant enemies but for general gunslingers there isn't much point.
>>
>>50777278
It's more of a QoL at this point, I agree.

>What you want in a Pierce character is a lot of elements.

*laughs in Pierce Guard Break*

For 55 MP you can make all those annoying resistances, nulls, absorbs, and reflects just... go away. No need to waste special ammo or figure out what the best element to use is, just get rid of it and brrr.

Elemental bullets are good for two things: doing lots of damage to a boss, and status effects. That's it. Nozomi has Pierce, so the amount of random mobs her normal Gun command can't hurt are much smaller than you'd think, and that's assuming she's using a normal Pierce-element gun instead of something like a flamethrower (at lower levels) or a freaking nuke or black hole launcher. Which she can use Double Tap with, by the way, if you don't feel like using Pierce Guard Break.

So no, I'll gladly take her with me any day of the week.

>>50777278
>What are the odds that an enemy will resist every single bullet element, including almighty?

I think it's literally just the Dubhe fight, before he gets Truck-Kun'd. There's not much that can stand up to a prepared and experienced gunman.
>>

Break and Guard Breaks are gay and weak. And costly.
>>
>>50778161

>>50778176
No no, I got that, your argument is sound, I just find those skills REALLY annoying.
>>
>>50778178
