Anon could be using a polarizing filer on their lens to cut out the glare, that can also cause this effect in my experience. Lovely shot though!

polarizing filters affect specular reflections (off water, windows, hair, etc.), this looks more like a grad ND

Going in order of when they arrived, next would be Rin. This outfit is a lot more girly than what she wears these days. Of the older shoots I've done, this is the one I want to revisit the most. I really thought it was a good idea to free hand 1/4 second exposure times back then.

Now for something slightly cursed. Picked this up rather cheap off mandarake about 2 years back thinking it would be cute if Rin had a lolita outfit as well. And well, not all experiments can be successes. Maybe it needs more of a poofy petticoat or two to fill out the skirt more.

does anyone have experience with imomodoll?
I saw a cute head I want to get but can't find any of the regular bodies for sale(only chubby or tan). Supposedly the heads fit on MDD bodies, but that's kinda too expensive ($70 for imomo vs $340 for MDD is insane)
So, are there any other bodies that would fit?
>>
>>50790400
There's a good reason why Imomo vinyl bodies are 70 bucks and every other option is much, much more; they suck. Horrible floppy joints and a ill fitting outer shell.

Also Volks US doing a 100:1 exchange rate is funny as shit, when its closer to 155:1.

Nope, they're actually aftermarket 3D printed resin legs. Somewhat difficult to use properly because I have to attach a resin bjd leg piece to a dollfie dream vinyl frame.

I think try to pull the bangs down lower toward the eyes, partially covering the eyebrows more might look better.

>Volks US doing a 100:1 exchange rate is funny as shit, when its closer to 155:1.
I just caved and bought from volksusa.
I ran the calculations and the total cost difference was only about $15-20 more from volksusa than from volks.jp (even with 1:159)

It breaks down like:
Tariffs = +15% + $17 dhl/ups import documents fee.
Shipping = 5500+ yen vs $13 domestic shipping
Volks.Jp Overseas order fee = 2200 yen
Shipping speed was about the same, took about 7 business days.

Speaking of, I'm late for the Equinox, but here's the next in the Wheel of the Year series I'm doing with my Merida. Ostara as it's called by Wiccans, is linked to the Germanic goddess Eostre, which sounds like Easter, and has been celebrated for centutries as a fertility and life bringing holiday with the coloring of eggs, rabbit/hare imagery and the celebration of baby animals. Sounds familiar. Anyway, here's Merida at an Ostara altar.

Thoughts of seamless doll bodies?
>>
>>50802565
the doll joints are the best part so i never understood the appeal
>>
>>50802565
Some people like them for certain types of photography- swimsuit, etc- and they can be nice for certain poses, but are more likely to look uncanny/strange if not posed carefully. There's also the matter that most are cast in either silicone or tpe, and the thought of trying to drag clothes on over that without damaging anything is my personal idea of what hell looks like. (Silicone and TPE are also dust/lint magnets, which can be more or less of a problem depending on one's living environment.) Ultimately I can see their use/appeal, but they're not for me personally.
>>
>>50802565
Cool in theory. Awful in reality. See >>50802587 They're gummy little dust magnets. Accept the joint life.
>>
>>50802565
had one before and it collected dust like a bitch was cancer to clean, have it in storage forever
>>
>>50802565
Only for people who live in VERY and I mean VERY clean environments. If you have pets, don't even consider it.
>>
>>50802565
Aside from what others have said, I also think seamless bodies suffer in terms of user serviceability. I don't know of any way to fix loose or broken joints since they're sealed in the silicone / TPE. I know repair glue exists but I didn't find the results particularly compelling when I tried it.

Being able to squish their thighs almost makes it worth, though. Almost.

There were a fair share of brides getting their pictures taken in their nice white dresses but, rumour has it, I was the one drawing more attention, which I find pretty funny.
>>
>>50804194
Very beautiful photos. No bride can compare with Miku's cuteness (truthfully the photographers were probably relieved they didn't have to work around gawking bystanders who have apparently never seen anyone get married in their lives before). This one is so sweet >>50804230

Mini scrunchies are the best thing for keeping twin tails under control. I bought a multipack of half inch wide ones at a dollar store and those are small enough to not slide off the tails.

What about silicone pieces for soft parts? (mostly torso)
They're a bitch to find but they look so good, and you get to keep the joints in arms and legs.
>>
>>50807132
ive seen ones for breasts and thighs/ass that look good but they're only really worth it if you primarily display your dolls nude or in lingerie and still have the dust magnet problem
>>
>>50807132
same thing do NOT get one if youre a dustmaxxer or a catchud
>>
>>50807132
I'm gonna go against the public opinion but give you a few caveats.
They LOOK great. And they FEEL great. They are genuinely nice pieces and it's no wonder that so many JP doll owners love them.
HOWEVER, they require specialized care (see >>50803866) compared to normal resin or vinyl. People who tell you they're dust magnets are note exaggerating and even if you talc them adequately, that only makes the dust accumulation bearable.
If you are looking for a "swappable" body and will only use it for photos (that in itself is a bit of a hassle but you'll decide if it's worth it) then go ahead. I think it's a great investment for people who take lots of pics of their dolls or want a different tactile experience (which in my opinion is also very important).
If you insist on getting a silicone doll or parts for a permanent/long term body, I will recommend two things: 1) Dustproof case for display. This is non-negotiable. 2) Get familiar with maintenance (probably wanna check the dollfucker thread). 3) You wanna be extra picky with clothes to avoid lint and staining.

I dont understand why 4chan doesnt recognize the correct rotation. Anyone else have this problem? I think it works if I edit the photo before posting. But that really cant be the solution.
>>
>>50811306
4chan strips EXIF data from images when they're posted I believe (outside of /p/,) and that data includes the image rotation if it was taken at an angle. Thus, this happens -- rotating it before uploading is unfortunately the solution.

Canadaland. Something something trace amounts of asbestos. I could find a small amount of it from a specialty dealer but it was 40 bucks after shipping. Even looking at supplies for Reborn dolls wasn't that much cheaper. All that just to dust Hibiki's tits once and a while.
>>
>>50814087
Not the greatest option but look into chalk dust? Check your local sports stores, they usually have it for boulderers and free-climbers. Or maybe corn starch? That's crazy- I'd check social media forums for mothers in Canada and see what the hell they're using as an alternative.

dolls? in THIS economy?
>>
>>50811294
I feel like I can only name a doll if I customize her enough that she is unique. Since I've only bought full-set dolls so far, I've just kept their release names, since buying one and changing her name feels like adopting a kid and saying "this is your new name now." Maybe I'm weird for that, who knows.
That is an adorable dress, though. She is very pretty
>>50811150
Hmm, I suppose I just assumed they'd follow similar pricing to real life wedding dresses.
>>50812645

I had this issue too, but that was primarily because her leg has partially slid out of the socket and she couldn't stand well

Damn, that's rough to hear. Is it hosting costs? Did the forum owner die? Where will people even migrate to these days? I know people talk about discord being the new forums, but it's not for a variety of reasons. Even if I never used DoA, I don't like seeing it and other parts of the internet shutting down recently. It feels like a death-knell for what the internet used to be, but that's beyond the scope of this thread. Thanks for spreading the news, anon, I hope it gets backed up somewhere, if only because all that history (especially the guides and comparisons) are irreplaceable.

Pic unrelated. Took Stella outside today. She remains stunning as ever, even if the wind mussed her hair.

That's probably treatable. Try Volks' stain removing cream (Dream Rescue, I think it's called?) or 10% benzoyl peroxide acne cream and wrap her face in clingwrap to keep it moist. Try not to get it on her mouth/eyes! And then leave it and keep checking it until the stain is gone. I've heard heat can also help it permeate the vinyl; maybe other anons can weigh in on that?
>>
>>50818231

wow, i never thought DoA would close. i've been a member of that forum since 2008, i just didn't post very much. end of an era as they say
>>
>>50818183
This actually happens all the time to my dolls when I not careful.
I think it happens because my dolls have dark clothes on, I touch the dark clothes and then turn the doll's head by touching the nose. That somehow transfers the dye to her nose. It literally gets stained in minutes from handling the doll.

I have fixed that stain several times now with benzyl peroxide 10% applied every few days for 2-3 weeks. Just a dab of the cream nice and thick applied to the nose area.
>>
>>50817500
man, i remember thinking of doa as the place to be back in the day. especially because it was "exclusive"
apparently the owner was around as recently as august so there's a good likelihood that it'll be saved in some way
>>50818239
you might be able to find the acne cream in person
>>
>>50818239
I just did a stain treatment on something I left laying around for 6 months. Still worked. There's no rush, if you're in the US, amazon carries a strong anti zit cream thats the same active ingredient in Dream Rescue.
amazon.com/dp/B00NR1YVYU
I've used that before and just did again. Perfectly safe, and didn't damage my doll at all. I know it's rough, but stains happen to all of us which is why we all chimed in to help.
>>
>>50818239
A week is fine. Imo dream rescue works the best since it doesn't dry out quickly even without cling wrap on top, I've tried benzoyl peroxide a few times and it's cheaper but it never worked. I've removed far worse stains from years old doll bodies i bought secondhand. Mind you it wont disappear immediately, it might take several treatments over days to go away. For years old super dark stains it will take months, but she is definitely savable. Make sure you ONLY apply the cream on her nose and avoid the decals/paint

>no debt on house and car.
Man this sure would be nice. I don't have a car payment right now but I couldn't justify paying rent that was only slightly less than a mortgage, especially with rents constantly going up.
>>
>>50822826
I own my home and my only subscription is a few donations mynoise and the internet archive, but I wasn't able to find a stable job for a few years due to things just not working out for a while, so I'm only just now starting to find my footing again. It's just rough out there these days. I hope we all make it in our own way in time.
