rhythm games... stagnant? ppl still play but it's nowhere as exciting as it was in 2016-2018ish, plus there seem to be way less rhythm game generalists these days with proficiency at all the games in a given r1 arcadeddr especially since it's just like ok all the singles 18s are piffed within like 2 hours of release, while the 19s remain unchallenged. and then there's low-hanging fruit in doubles which any pump player with decent timing can make short work of, but in practice no one does bc fefemz will flag a ddr doubles 18 and get bored of the game and not play for another yearwith iidx it kinda makes sense, if you look at a guy like phnix he puts ungodly amounts of hours to increase his ex score on random ryuslop 12 by like 2 out of the 5172 possible points. why do that when you could've used that time to learn the entire modern curriculum of humanity, become a multimillionaire in the process, buy a bunch of arcade cabs, and become "reasonably proficient" at all the games?
