>>
>>50785879
Finally someone says something good about human women.
>>
>>50784873
I sort of hate them for being the two major human villager characters we have, and neither actually feel like human villager. Especially Kosuzu who seemingly has:
>No friends in the human village.
>No family in the human village.
>No connections to the human village.
>No responsibilities to the human village.
>Might as well not even be part of the human village.
Otherwise they aren't bad character conceptually, I guess.
>>
>>50785953
Did you even read FS?
>>
>>50786092
I did. She largely comes across as entirely disconnected from the human village and has no problem essentially betraying them all at the end of the story.
>>
>>50786128
Did you speedread the entire thing?
Her parents appear on chapter one, her close family is mentioned in the subsequent chapters, her business is in the middle of the village and seems to be doing good for it to get profit, and she's in charge or said business despite her age
In the end she's not betraying humanity as well, she had a teenage moment were she couldn't see the shades of gray of the whole Gensokyo system and though that getting rid of the humans who are part of that system would put balance, so she wanted one answer to all, which was wrong.
>>
>>50786196
>Her parents appear on chapter one, her close family is mentioned in the subsequent chapters
They literally aren't even given a face. They are not characters in any meaningful sense, and they basically vanish for the rest of the plot. Your parents in your average JRPG game have more presence than them, including the ones where they are fucking dead.

> and she's in charge or said business despite her age
Which is ridiclous and again highlights how out of place she is with the rest of the human village.

>In the end she's not betraying humanity
Her betraying humanity is her agreeing to work with Reimu to keep the human villagers trapped against their will by becoming part of the conspiracy (TM).
>>
>>50786263
Dishwashers.
>>
It's going to be one of *those* threads, huh...
>>
>>50786263
>They literally aren't even given a face.
So? They exist, thus contradicting your point that she has no family.
>Which is ridiculous and again highlights how out of place she is with the rest of the human village.
A setting full of supernatual magical beings and a little girl being a wagie is ridiculous to you?
>the conspiracy
She agreed to be part of the exclusive secret club, she doesn't want any harm done to humans.

I feel like you didn't read this manga at all
>>
>>50785907
It's really weird. Whenever there's a 'monster girl' setting or adjacent (I know Touhou isnt but you get what I mean) I always gravitate towards the cute human girls. Why do I do that?
>>
>>50786263
>They literally aren't even given a face.
The original claim was that she had none.
>Which is ridiclous
The original claim was that she had no responsibilities.
You're addressing arguments nobody made, buddy.

>They exist
They exist in the same way Keine exists in modern lore. They are around by technicality but have no actual bearing on the plot or the lives of the characters.

>A setting full of supernatual magical beings and a little girl being a wagie is ridiculous to you?
It's part of the issue of the Human village being terminally underwritten. Are they a eccentric odd town akin to Primp Town in Puyo Puyo, Penguin Town in Doctor Slump, or Gravity Falls from, uh, Gravity Falls? Then it's not that weird. Are they a town of mostly realistic down to earth people stuck in a weird situation and trying to make the best of it? Then it's very weird. Are they a pseudo feudal society based on Meijin era Japan? Then it's incredibly out of place.

ZUN can't decide what they want the Human Village to be. Even Forbidden Scrollery jumps back and forth between eccentric town, mundane town, and straight up Meijin era Japan.

>She agreed to be part of the exclusive secret club, she doesn't want any harm done to humans.
Being part of the secret club IS helping to harm humans. If not villagers, then certainly outsiders.

>>50786338
>The original claim was that she had none.
God, I fuckin hate how autistic people are on this site.

>The original claim was that she had no responsibilities.
If she, as presumably a young teenager, can run a fucking bookstore then she has no responsibilities. Nothing is asked of her by society, and she can literally just do whatever the fuck she wants.
>>
>>50786336
To be fair, Kosuzu and Akyuu have two of the best designs of the whole series, plus their personalities are explored on a whole printwork. Both them, and Marisa, feel more like established, serious protagonists of the setting, whereas humans like Reimu, Sakuya, and Youmu are a bit too much of a free space character wise
>>
>>50786550
>Both them, and Marisa, feel more like established, serious protagonists of the setting
At least for the human side of things, I add
>>
>>50786535
It doesn't matter what you think about them, they still exist.
You stated some facts, all of them got debunked if you actually read the source material, it's right there.
Kosuzu's parents are not important to the plot.
Learn the difference between an opinion and a fact.

Kosuzu is a stubborn bratty teenager who thinks she knows better than others and due to her own curiosity got too deep into the world of youkai&humans, and instead of being silenced she was invited to join them, making her happy because she now feels equal to the powerful people of gensokyo. That's really all of it.

>ZUN can't decide what they want the Human Village to be. Even Forbidden Scrollery jumps back and forth between eccentric town, mundane town, and straight up Meijin era Japan.
Has it never occurred you that it could be a bit of both? You are looking for a definite answer that doesn't exist.
>>
>>50786353
I guess so. Human women seem much more appealing and familiar when you put them in with otherworldy beauties. It does give them some competition too.
>>
>>50786755
>It doesn't matter what you think about them, they still exist.
To quote myself:
>God, I fuckin hate how autistic people are on this site.

But if you do want to play this game though:
>You stated some facts, all of them got debunked

Lets go over them all:
>No friends in the human village.
Not debunked. The closest is Akyuu, who is literally 100 times her age.
>No connections to the human village.
Not debunked. She cares about nobody, nobody cares about her.
>No responsibilities to the human village.
Not debunked. She runs a shop despite being a young teenager, there is no expectation of her to marry, no expectation of her to go to school, no expectation of her to do her job well even. Her parents and grandparents don't seem to give a fuck if she goes around fucking with cursed books and messing with obvious youkai. Thinks that would obviously be VERY bad for her business.
>Might as well not even be part of the human village.
Not debunked. She could live outside the human village and 99% of FS would be identical.

>That's really all of it.
And that makes her a terrible person. Akin to learning all of humanity is controlled in secret by vampires and demons and being like "Cool, when can I join on the side of the evil people?"

>Has it never occurred you that it could be a bit of both?
That would require ZUN to be a good writer. Twin Peaks this is not.
>>
I want to have sex with Kosuzu, I want to slap and then lick Akyuu.

>otherworldy beauties.
Surely you don't fathom the possibility of an actual relationship with these things right? Half of the woman yokai straight up torture you to death after luring you in, you do know that.
>>
>>50787458
Clearly you can't as you see something like Kosuzu's parents not appearing more as neglecting her and the other examples you interpreted yourself and take as facts.
You did not read FS at all or got an completely different idea of what is it about.
Now stop arguing in circles when you have already been showed the facts straight out of the book.
>>
>>50787481
>Clearly you can't as you see something like Kosuzu's parents not appearing more as neglecting her
This is what I mean with you being autistic. No, I don't imply they are neglecting her, I'm implying they basically don't exist in any meaningful form. They aren't characters, they don't define Kosuzu's characters, they don't even seem to influence her job one way or another. They are nothing.

>You did not read FS at all or got an completely different idea of what is it about.
I know what it's about, my issue is that what it's about is bad. It wastes a interesting premise for a manga and is just poorly written overall.

>Now stop arguing in circles when you have already been showed the facts straight out of the book.
Stop being a autistic fucknugget and either debunk everything or admit defeat and say "Kosuzu is a shit representation of a human villager".

I want to see Kosuzu show up again in another story. I like her ability especially how it gets her into trouble because of how much she enjoys collecting and reading all the youma books she can get her hands on so she just ends up drawing all the wrong attention. It'd be nice to see her again, Akyuu too but she's more or less going to be seen again considering she's the most important figure in the Human Village. Hopefully they show up together because they're fun when they interact because of how both complement each others abilities and share similar interests with books.
