I'd like to ask someone who knows about Touhou Project:There's something called "Yukkuri" in Japan, does anyone know about it? Also, whether you know or not I want to hear what everyone thinks about this. (Also, since I used a translation tool, the English might be a little strange.)
>>50824852We have a few enthusiasts, including myself, of Yukkuri abuse here, but it remains unpopular on this board because many find it distasteful. If you're talking about the not so unhinged side of the Yukkurifandom then sure, there's plenty of those around.
>>50824863I thought so... That's a little disappointing. But...it might be similar in some ways to what's called "spiritual" in Japan.
I wanted to say Miss Spicky.
>>50824852Ah yes, because a Japanese man would obviously have an "images.jpg" filename on his computer.Anyway, I think yukkuri are cute. Don't particularly like the abusive part of the fandom, or even the annoying depictions of them, either.
>>50824879>But...it might be similar in some ways to what's called "spiritual" in Japan. Can you elaborate on that?
>>50825007Sorry, that was a mistake, it's Spiki, Spiki That is Korean This is based on the game. In Japan, it's common to see people making Spiki cry, so I feel like something somewhat similar is happening here.
>>50824852>does anyone know about it?you dumb gooks need to make less works where they are just being killed/abused without any reason other than pure sadismthe concept of living magical food creatures trying to survive or even thrive in a modern world/human society can make stories that are more interesting than just "let's torture this semi-sentient magical manjuu because they annoy me or something"
>>50825205The most interesting aspect of Yukkuri for me has always been the world building of such settings. Like what would be the implications of such creatures existing out of the blue one day? What would have to happen for a class of seemingly sentient critters to piss society as a whole off so bad that it becomes legal and even encouraged to kill them whenever possible? I assume humans would be curious and even understanding at first, probably even given them protective rights, but how badly would they really have to behave before those rights are taken away and we have the settings most often seen in Yukkuri comics?I know most comics don't really go into it and the artists themselves probably don't think too hard on it, but it's something I like thinking about when seeing Yukkuri stuff.
>>50825205>>50825262I should also note that I'm not OP, just someone who is autistic about these kinds of things.
>>50825262pretty sure that most artists have never even started to think about the laws and regulations that would come up regarding yukkuristhey are by technicality, semi-sentient creatures capable of some rational and cognitive thinking, somehow also possessing the ability to inherit knowledge of human language and other things directly from their parents, they even have the qualities and appearance of a person in certain regards, and in some works they are even intelligent enough form their own society/tribes with their own rules and lawsi highly doubt that the world would just band together to exterminate or abuse them, no matter how much of a lazy shithead nigger pest they have the potential to becomei'm pretty sure that they would be 'employed' by humans in one way or another instead of just being another fancy pet or food item (which might even be illegal due to their intelligence)
There's threads about them sometimes in this board, it usually devolve into abuse, like jissouseki threads in futaba, though don't expect to find them right now, this board seems to have decreased in quality recently.
>>50825378I wonder what they would be classified as, if scientists studied their biology and came to the conclusion that they were not "true" life due to their inorganic make up. Would there be a possibility that they could end up classified as an imitation of life like something along the lines of AI? I could also see a case made for their extermination after their initial novelty wears off due to how quickly they repopulate and how much trouble cleaning up after their messes could potentially cost a city. There is also the danger that plentiful sweets could cause wildlife. Animals don't care what these things are classified as, they will only see them as food eat them, possibly leading to some kind of diabetes epidemic among animals.I'm sure smaller children might too if they aren't properly warned against doing so by their parents and the homeless will most certainly eat them, leading to to all kinds of illnesses. All that said, I think it would stop with exterminations at the most extreme end. Maybe not to extinction, but just to manageable levels like other invasive species. I'm certain torturing them regardless of what they are classified as would still be seen as extremely unhinged behavior and while it may not be illegal, it would still reflect very poorly on the person doing it. Niche communities of people who are into it would likely still pop up but it wold never become a whole industry the way it is in Yukkuri settings. Even if Yukkuri end up being classified as inanimate objects entirely, I'm sure there would be a large public outcry for Yukkuri rights, given the human tendency to bond with even inanimate objects as it is. If those objects could so much as even imitate life then there are people who would surely fight for them no matter how nonsensical it is.
>>50825458Scenarios like these always make me wonder what would people start thinking about 2hu and 2hu fans in general. The actual fans' reactions are somewhat predictable, plenty would try to get like, a pet of their favorite or maybe a small group, and plenty would try to re-enact the abuse stuff. A lot of people would start thinking that Gensokyo is actually real, too.
>>50825458they'd absolutely confound and leave the academia utterly dumbstruck by their existence, as it would drop the equivalent of a high-yield thermonuclear bomb into the debate of what is considered alive or not, especially if their biology is near-entirely magical in nature and they are capable of turning basically anything into more sweet pastesome yukkuris are portrayed as capable of holding actual intelligent and rational thoughts in their paste brains, and can possibly learn enough knowledge that they can be compared to that of a grade/primary schoolerthis is pure conjecture but through survival of the fittest, it's possible that some would turn more intelligent or docile so that they can better mingle in with human society, others would turn more stealthy and get smaller in size (house yukkuris), and those who learnt to avoid humans as much as possible to become just another part of the ecologymaybe near-exterminations would be commonplace early on before they are fully accustomed to human society, but i think that eventually they'd wise up enough through their bean paste knowledge inheritanceeventually, smarter and socialized yukkuris might actually form their own civilization within the rules and bounds of human society and willingly do some work/labor in exchange for some food and shelter (everything they actually need)some people might look at these yukkuri societies and see that their simple and easy lifestyle might turn out to be more favorable than the lifestyle they had prior... at least until the yukkuris get smart enough to invent slavery and forced labor, then it'd be like looking through a mirror of early human societies>>50825508ZUN will quite literally get a free lifetime supply of beer from every brewery in the world at his demand, he'd be seen as a prophet
Incidentally, in Japan, there's something called "Yukkuri Chaban Geki," which are story-like videos that use materials called "Yukkuri Voice" and "Kitsune Yukkuri." They range from comedy to something like shonen manga.for example https://youtu.be/N9gnvn2z5v4?si=OvJVIDcog-pOfvbgor https://youtu.be/WnJVQcu1-6g?si=b2olGifX0xKwsE_J
>>50825266I have a similar disability too (lol), so don't worry.
>>50825536>maybe near-exterminations would be commonplace early on before they are fully accustomed to human societyI feel like that would only come later. No matter how they act, I'm sure they would still be treated with curiosity and good will at first, at least by most. 99% of them are actually retarded so I can also see a scenario where they end up becoming a sort of pet too. Smarter than a regular animal (usually) but not quite smart enough to be a person. Should they be given the protections of an animal or the rights of a human? At least in the US, some religious groups would certainly fight against them getting human-like rights or even protections but there would be no shortage of bleeding hearts coming to the defense of Yukkuri. I think the extermination scenarios would only start happening once they start causing property damage and prove either unwilling or unable to learn not to do it. Sure, most modern windows aren't so fragile that they can be broken by throwing a rock at it, and especially not at the force that a Yukkuri could generate, but I'm sure people wouldn't like rocks being thrown at their windows by Yukkuri that want to get inside or getting their yards and home grown vegetables ruined by them. While I don't think there would ever be a massive government funded campaign to exterminate them, I think it would eventually be allowed for people to take care of the problem themselves, like they already are with things like rats. The agricultural industry in particular would probably be invested in finding ways to deter them. That said, I'm sure particularly pissed people might occasionally take it further and border on the kind of stuff we see in Yukkuri comics. I'm reminded of the story about a college student who crucified and burned a rat because he was mad that it ate his turtle. On that note, I could see some kind of crackdown on them if they end up hurting enough pets and small children while waving around sticks and toothpicks. I'm sure they would be isolated cases at best, left to the owners and parents to take care of, but if it happens enough then there might be some kind of government intervention.
>>50826224i would consider the stage where yukkuris are smart enough to break into people's house/harm very little kids and critters/steal farmer crops as an intermediary/in-between stage before they have fully gotten smart enough to understand and integrate into human culture/societypaste knowledge inheritance might become the most busted thing ever, even if some works portray yukkuris as losing their memories every time they take a shitit may allow humans to easily control their knowledge, docility, and other traits by methods of yukkuri eugenics
>>50825184oh, there's speaki abuse memes too? anyway, normal yukkuri are popular in the west, even without abuse
>>50826416Yukkuri eugenics would likely be very possible, seeing as some works are centered around the idea of Yukkuri being bred with certain traits, though usually bad ones for the sake of abuse. Still, if that's possible then there's no reason why they wouldn't be able to breed out most of the negative traits for domestic Yukkuri. That seems to be done through training like a dog in some works but maybe it would require even less work if those base negative traits could be bred out. The question then would be whether or not society, and particularly the bleeding heart types, would find it unethical to do, and whether or not those voices would be loud enough to stop eugenics programs.
I've been thinking about how yukurri would look like irl, and they would probably be very uncanny valley and not cute at all like in the artwork.
>>50827577They're clearly magical, so there's no reason to imagine them as something that weird looking. I think they should be just like 3D anime models. You know, like their eyes would still be flat 2D images, not like real eyeballs, hair that isn't really "hairy" at all, anime-esque lack of a nose, etc.The biggest hurdle would be seeing them move for the first time, but after that, they'd seem as normal as any cat.
Yes, they do exist. In Japan, they're subjected to all sorts of unpleasant things, like being modified or having their pumpkins destroyed.https://youtu.be/8O_On2uYOtk?si=IA7vC7THjBFAomPuhttps://youtu.be/t41RLsu_oco?si=7--1YSdGb8rRXa6E
>>50826485
TOTAL YUKKURI DEATH!! "TAKING IT EASY" IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN!!!
>>50827577If I saw this in the woods I would probably scream and smash it with a big stick.
>>50827577>>50827690Is this one cute or uncanny?
>>50824852i detest yukkuri about as much as any other overused meme but people have a tendency to make very nasty scat/gore/etc. of the 'creatures' so i do not care for themthe post on 2ch or wherever it was they originate from was funny for about a minute, but they are only used in unfunny commentary videos and awful r34 now
>>50825608fucking hell
>>50824852ur probably larping being japanese but yeah we know about yukkuris
>>50828163どうやら私が日本人とは思ってないようだね?もちろん私は“ロールプレイはしてるよ?英語を日本語にしたときのしゃべり方をね。あと、中二病だからね?私は一応これで日本人(わからなくても日本住み)って証明が出来たかな?
