When I listen to the YUYU Japanese podcast, I feel like I understand like 80% of everything he's saying. It's not too bad, and even when I get lost, I can still generally follow along and eventually find my place again. He spends a lot of time explaining things in multiple ways, though, so of course he's easy to follow. On the other hand, when I've tried to watch anime without subtitles, the second they start talking in-depth about something or otherwise go beyond surface-level chatter, I immediately get lost and can't follow along.
