Im tired of having this feeling of being Insufficient, i need to know how to actually become the classic type of otaku of like 2014, when i was young i was retarded and i didnt bother even watching anime (big mistake) now i wanna sink into that pothole and dance in the dirt, what would you suggest for me to do to become that stereotypical otaku from the 2014?I do watch anime and also read a lot of romcom manga btw

actually watch old anime instead of only seeing funny clips, and play touhou
I kind of understand you anon. I consider myself a decent otaku, I watch everything and have been in the bussiness since 2006. My problem is that I suck with names, character's and shows.I unironically need to study to memorise the characters names of franchises. Which I can do, but when I stop interacting with that IP I forgot them pretty quicky, making otaku conversation hard since I either describe the character or google it mid-convo.Anyways, have you watched all of the big IPs?I'm currently watching Precure for the first time, the new show, I plan to watch de first one in the next month probably, I'm watching Lovelive after I finished with all of IM@s and plan to start Fate after I finish with LL
>>50948887Forgot to mention.I used MAL to look up at all the seasons from 1980-now, and saved anything that catched my attention. I have a backlog of like 300+ shows, so I'm well for the next years
>>50948889Glad I'm not the only one with this sort of autism
>>50948605>classic type of otaku>of like 2014If you're going to being one of those annoying larping teenagers at least larp as an early 00s otakuWhat the fuck are you looking at 2010+ for?
>>50948947I was still way too young in most of the 2000's, the most i remember was around 2014 so that us the first type of otakuness i ever saw, but i would be actually very interested in being that type of otaku too, im just very fond of that part in history, if you could help me i would become that
>>50948887Can you tell me the best classic IPs ones to start with? Im honestly not sure of the very base of those

I don't trust anyone born in this millennium.
>>50948947Hey, there were some cool shows between 2010-2017
>>50948970Not really classic but the ones that comes to my mind areGirls und PanzerGundamPrecureIdolmasterLove LiveCaptain TsubasaUmamusumeFateStrike witches.hack( though you have to play the games after watching SIGN, it's a multi-product IP)EvangelionLegends of galactic héroes Hetalia if you like /his/ autismIkkitousen for ecchi old school fightsJojoDragon maidKodomo no jikanDi Gi CharatSaint SeiyaSAO (though I only watched till the first movie I dont know if its any good currently)PatlaborYama no susumeYuru camp
Entertainment time is mostly about resting, activity done is irrelevant.I guess you could watch Columbo instead or something.
I remember /jp/ complaining about 2012 being the death of this board and otaku culture as if it was yesterday. People being nostalgic for 2010 has the same effect as seeing people being nostalgic for covid.
>>50948605>>50948963One of the earliest memories of the internet for me was looking up to elitist shitlords with haruhi avatars on forums in late 00s. I so badly wanted to become someone like that. Someone with that "I've been here much longer than you" energy, and a looong e-penis. So I do get it. This yearning to become someone from a culture long past. I got in just in time to live my fantasies, but If you manage to become your role model now, you'll find out the world has moved on, the culture you yearn for has died and basically nobody cares who you've become.
You're a retarded poser if you watch anime.
>>50948605caring about larping is just caring about what others think of youstop caring and just focus on having fun
>>50949412>elitist shitlords with haruhi avatars on forums in late 00sI don't know about "shitlord," that particular slur is way past my time, but yeah, that was me. Still got my Haruhiism t-shirt, even.
>>50949447Senpai I kneel
>>50949412>but If you manage to become your role model now, you'll find out the world has moved on, the culture you yearn for has died and basically nobody cares who you've become.nta but the life of an otaku is already one of neglect, isolation, and self-justification. Anyone who intends to walk the path of 2D bliss is already looking down the barrel of denpa so all that'll do is separate the chaff from the true otakings. Also>elitist shitlords with haruhi avatars on forums in late 00sGoddamn, Haruhi's my #1 too and also the source of all of my avatars since I was in high school but I would never in a million years act like it was obscure, even then.
>>50949466>even then"especially then", I meant>>50949447>Still got my Haruhiism t-shirt, even.Hope I'm fit to take up the mantle, then.>>50949456But still so do I...
/a/ is that way
You should focus on studying for your highschool exams instead, they're more important than you think, specially in this economyAnd don't get groomed by the retards you think are cool, be careful
>>50949412Fair point, thank youTho i kinda care about it becouse of my own horrible self standards about myself
