How the fuck am I supposed to set up mpv so that it selects the subtitle based on matching language but doesn't turn it on by default (i.e. with a single (v) keypress it enables subtitles for the matching language but doesn't start with it, if you're hearing me general). I also have both sub-auto=fuzzy and sub-file-paths=subs:sub:srt... but when I have file from e.g. Kagami it doesn't even load the Japanese only subs in a seperate (subs in the same directory as the video files) folder but instead only loads the subtitles with both Chinese and Japanese subs next to the video files.

>>50959955I don't think mpv even recognizes amything else than ISO language codes. subs-with-matching-audio=yes is default now (it's for forced subtitles, they completely changed it's behavior at some point (no means yes vice versa because it was confusing)). sub-fallback selects subs in another language if there's no subs for your preferred language. The problem was that they had put version numbers in the middle of the subtitle files (fuzzy looks for an exact string, so it broke that). God this shit is a timesink
