I finally got around to watching Cosmic Princess Kaguya and to be honest, I don't really like it... not the worst but not the best either. Music's pretty good though.

>Vocaloid at MAJ
Congrats to r-906 for winning the Vocaloid song award!
Congrats to Hachi for winning the Best Digital Culture Award!

How luxurious it must be to be Kenshi Yonezu, winning awards under both aliases, despite not even releasing music under one of them.
>>
>>51036829
I will never forgive Hachi
>>

>MAJ
An irrelevant industry wank that wants to pretend Japanese music is big. Do you also care about the Grammys and the Oscars?
Shit like r-906 and Iris Out wins by default.

>An irrelevant industry wank that wants to pretend Japanese music is big
It is the second biggest in the world, in fact
>Do you also care about the Grammys and the Oscars?
I don't care about western music, but there are Japanese artists out there who aspire to get a Grammy.
>Shit like r-906 and Iris Out wins by default.
This is comparing apples and oranges. Iris out is one of the most successful Japanese songs in many regards. r-906 is probably happy to win it, he is no "shoe in."
>>
>>51037017
>second biggest
With zero global presence to speak of.
>no "shoe in"
I encourage you to look at the Vocaloid category nominees list and see if you still think that. They are so over the moon with Iris Out thet they have not stopped putting out press releases about how it proves they're a big boy industry that can compete with K-pop.

What, exactly, did he mean by this

>flop era guy makes a new song
>hear people saying it's a very iyowa-like song
>listen to it
>it's literally (musically) structurally exactly the same as peachy key
am i crazy, am i the only one that hears it? couldn't even take the song seriously because i immediately noticed the similarities. the animation is a cute style though

I can definitely see what you're getting at and can match a lot of the parts in each together particularly the first half. There's definitely structural similarities, but that feels about it. Actually playing the matched parts together doesn't sound great though a lot of them are lockstep. They almost certainly used the song as a blueprint, but everything outside of that feels pretty different.

00:00-00:12 for the first bit
The setup interlude is like 10 seconds for ePiaeon's song while Peachy Key is only 6 seconds and this is where they desync. But everything after is pretty synced if you adjust for that 4 second difference. 46 and 42, 58 and 54, 1:20 and 1:16. However, after about halfway in both songs, that lockstep disappears, probably due to the RPG section in So Sorry. Which sort of makes them resync at 1:54 and 1:53(So Sorry is now only 1 second ahead) with another possible match at 2:05. The last minute or so is very different though. Peachy Key does its denouement early(2:28) and finishes on chorus(2:53) into real denouement(3:16) after So Sorry has already ended whereas So Sorry hits the chorus(2:31) then heads into the denouement(2:53).
>>
>>51038285
>>51038345
Something I want to add, structural similarities are not uncommon in music. Rather, those comments about being iyowa-like is probably because iyowa has used that structure or similar ones multiple times. If you go through all of their songs, you'll probably notice a lot more of these structure matches as well as leitmotifs.
>>
Am I going insane or is this AI? As a producer the pinned comment raises flags so red you'd think... Wait they already made Communist Teto I can't make that joke.
https://youtu.be/2Z6k7CYxxSo
>>
>>51038384
You're going insane. Chucking it in an AI music analyzer, no. Not sure what any of that comment has to do with the music possibly being AI. By their sheer nature, commercial synth vocal tuning can't be AI unless somebody's managed to jerry rig something to a synth engine.
>>
>>51038384
It's tuned by AI in the sense that they transfered SV Teto's tuning over to UTAU Teto. Other than that, no.
>>
>>51038427
>>51038469
Ah okay my bad then. I think it's just that at the very least the vocals are definitely not UTAU Teto. Either they edited some parameters on Teto SV or compiled the voices together somehow with an external tool.
I do like the art, and I'm glad it was just my imagination at the end of the day.

>>
>>51039331
Ranking voice banks by the highest pitch they can produce?
>>
>>51039331
context tells me that this is maybe suggesting the highest note they can hit
>>
>>51039331
A music scale consists of the notes A-G(which includes some notes in between which are either represented by a note with a sharp(half note higher) or flat symbol(half note lower)). When you go past G, you go back to A again, but an octave higher, same for the other way, going below A, goes an octave down.

In this case, hihiE represents the note E, but 2 octaves higher than normal. hihihiD would be the note D 3 octaves higher than normal. As the others have already said, it's a ranking of who can hit the highest notes.

>>51039353

>>

recommended ranges are ranges they personally think the voice should be used in as it's the natural range of the singer that recorded it, doesn't necessarily mean they CAN'T go outside of that, it just won't sound as natural
