You’re better off using wikipedia to repeatedly copy the stroke order and kana in a notebook and then using kana warrior to memorize it.To make learning Japanese with duolingo better I recommend you get a cheap spiral bound notebook to take notes in. Whenever you get a new word in a lesson, look it up on Jisho.org and write its full, actual definition. When you learn a new rule, write it down. When you learn a new kanji or kana, write it down a bunch of times. A grid-ruled notebook can be better for this. And on the days you can bear it, try one of the lessons recommended on the thread guide.

Very good question, thank you for askingI started relearning Japanese again in 2022 in the Fall. When I was a freshman in high school. I met my Japanese teacher in the fall of that year and made a huge connection with her. I was her TA and an assistant in my Senior year and finished all the Japanese classes early.Studied a bunch of Japanese by myself and specialized in it and got pretty good. The N2 pass was from Junior Year, when I was taking her 4th year class.Now I have just recently graduated high school. I did lose the department award in my school for Japanese so I was very sad and I still grieve it. But Japanese was basically like a passion project.

But my case was a little bit different.Unlike many learners I was juggling many tasks in Japanese at the same time, I took the JLPT and Kanji Kentei tests at the very same time. I managed to pass the N2, and the Kanji Kentei 4 and Level 2.Also I was working on my 4 languages skills at the same time. Rather than a linear progression, like do this do that, my skills are all spread out.Japanese also became my passion project. From Junior year I started to get serious and read books and tough media. Kanji and reading became my biggest strengths.Why? With Kanji, because I loved Kanken (my teacher recommended it to me before), I was able to learn Kanji and have a lot of fun. It made the process a lot more enjoyable. And with reading i’ve been able to study a lot and collect a lot of books.Writing has also been a strength. Although i still make a few errors with grammer and naturalness (no one is perfect), i’ve been able to sustain and write abstract passages spanning multiple pages.Junior year was my most successful year of studies (and 2024-25) because in this timeframe I saw my biggest improvement and got a lot of proficiency certificates. This was when I seriously grew up.——-These days I’m getting ready for college. But in my free time, I’m reading a lot of books in Japanese. how to go about mining words that have completely distinct meanings?for example 約束 means promise, and that's probably what the meaning is gonna be 95% of the time, but it can also mean "something expected or predictable/typical or clichéd story" etc.the context sentence will only ever relate to one meaning to seeing the other one could end up confusing. if I just mined this as it is, I'd always guess "promise" during reviews because the other meaning probably doesn't come to mind until after I've already pressed the button.
